I found something interesting about SA. I can live for a month in an Extended Stay American place in SA for a month less than rent in a studio Apartment in Los Angeles County. This means I can go to SA and stay for a month for about the same as a month in Los Angeles County without committing to an apartment lease. For a single person with median level income renting might be chepaer than buying.
Ive been living in San Antonio for a couple years and I agree with the traffic, SA should invest in public transportation instead of mindlessly expanding the highway just for it to get heavy traffic again
Nooooo,we don't want people moving here, there's alot of meth labs even in nice areas big drug dealers move to nice areas 😮 you people really don't know they work regular jobs so its not obvious, so keep it Real
I use to live in San Antonio from 1981 to 2017. Had to move to Dallas to be with family. Worst mistake we Ever made. Tornadoes, wind and A lot of thunder storms. 😫 I miss my San Antonio sooooo bad. You would be lucky to have the chance to live there.
Pricing would be the same across the board, but it's always changing along with the incentives. However, we do keep a close watch on those changes to make sure we find our clients the best opportunities. Were you considering a move in the near future?
Yup! San Antonio's urban sprawling is bad 😕 That happened to us as well, and all of the beautiful kinds of birds and other critters that we had in our backyard just disappeared when so many trees got cut down. We decided to leave, and put our house on a lease. But before leaving SATX., we met some of those people who moved in the new houses/community and all of them actually evacuated Cali. Californians are taking over San Antonio, which I bet puro San Antonians aren't happy about. I can just hear them now 😅
I hear people complain about Texas drivers too…and I always think, hey! none of these people are from here. Watchu mean “Texas” drivers? Lol, you mean California drivers.
Wow, great video, so accurate too. If you are from the East or West coast, you should stay there. You will die in the heat. Really though, lefty politics should be left back in the failing places it comes from. One comment though, the taxes are pegged to the price of the house so when house prices in a neighborhood go down, it is the best! Unfortunately, house prices have skyrocketed through the roof in the last few years. And the appraisal district sets the assumed price of the house - very high. Such a shame. I can't wait for them to fall, fall, fall.
So many military retire in SA, then they get a full-time job. Their retirement, access to military medical/svcs, plus a 2nd full-time salary makes it very appealing for thus population.
We have some of the top school districts in TX right here in San Antonio. The majority of our clients have settled in the Northside, Northeast, Medina, and Comal Independent School Districts for their exemplary rated schools. Those are all pretty large school districts that cover a good portion of San Antonio, Boerne, and New Braunfels so it gives you lots of options when it comes to deciding on where to live. Were you considering a move to the San Antonio area?
This construction on highways at I35 & 1604 suck. Sooo many people moving here! Thanks to all these subdivisions popping up everywhere. You barely see a nice field of grass or native trees anymore. Coming soon! Opening soon signs all around. I’ve lived here all my life and Live Oak to New Braunfels can be bumper to bumper. Used to drive fast on the highway to dry my truck off after a wash; forget it now. 5 miles an hour won’t do it lol, guess I’ll sweat my you know what off in the driveway. But, once these overpasses and elevated roads are done; who knows when, it’ll be great! I hope 🤞🏽! Love where I live though and recommend SA or surrounding areas.
The short answer is not really... Things have definitely slowed back down to normal levels since the large rate increases in the Summer of 2022. There was an initial (very small) pull back on pricing as the market adjusted, but SA home prices are still about 3% higher in 2024 than they were in 2023. That's mostly driven by builder's pricing strategies with new construction. Instead of reducing prices, they drastically increased incentives to cover closing costs and buy down interest rates to make mortgage payments as affordable as possible. We're still seeing price increases and a lot of demand in new home communities all across the city. Resale homes are also selling well year over year. We just never saw that big correction everyone was expecting. The good news though is that there's definitely more inventory for homebuyers to look at these days and far better opportunities with builder incentives. We'll be here if you'd like to connect before your trip. A lot of times we're able to get folks pointed in the right direction so they don't miss seeing anything when they come visit.
SA is a very crime-ridden city - much more than Los Angeles. Crimes against women are common. It's only if you are retired military, that it makes sense to move to SA.
