Most ppl that throw so much hate at this game probably haven’t even made it to mars . The game is a lot of fun , it’s extremely detailed and a really great time . I love getting to use my dialogue options and influence outcomes instead of just shooting my way out of things / always have appreciated that in Bethesda games .
Well it is repetitive, because ubisoft, but for a reason you're a operator on a mission so of course it will have just objectives related to the mission, but the fun of this game is in how you take on the missions. I don't think it's offensive because cartels are a reality for people just like criminal factions are a reality for Brazil on the favelas so depicting it isn't offensive at all, tbh I think most of us in country's infested with crime and corruption would like someone to clean this shit up Punisher style.

Since 2016 the famous gamer granny has been waiting for tes6. You Don't diss the granny fam, bethesda is getting the well deserved flack....that...they deserve. You're either with us or against us. As far as OFFICIAL gamer data, bethesda is in the dog house until they deliver on what we payed for over the decades. Tes6, we won't be happy until we've played this game. End of discussion.
FF16 side quests were boring as hell. The reason being that 99% of them are either given by complete strangers or people you know pretty much nothing about, so I couldn't give a rat's ass about any of them. My biggest issue with the game is the lack of Playable Characters/Party Members. So cut the crap with "knowing more about the world". Also the lack of major cities and hometowns for the characters. All you have here are just some villages or towns that are lackluster. Golden Age games like FF6,7,8,9,10 had a huge roster of characters with each having a deep backstory and most if not all side quests were about them. So we had a reason to care. Here It's just one guy, Clive ! other characters barely contribute to the combat. Also, their stories are never really fleshed out. We know absolutely nothing about Jill, other than being a childhood friend. Literally everything else about her is told via superficial exposition, never showing anything. Same thing can be said about literally every character or villain in the game. All of them are bland and uninteresting. And many appear literally out of nowhere. Like Mid or Vivian or.......... Also, ever since (Game of Thrones) what is this odd trend with having a "Hodor" in a game or series !? I'm referring to the big guy Goetz.
Love this game, love the characters, story, music, the landscape. Man one of my favorite fantasy surpassed 8,9and 12 for me. No way someone just mashed X and won every fight, some of those bosses and mini bosses will kick the living dog shit out of you. I find people just complain to complain, whiny ass gimp ladyboys that think their opinion matters. SHow Me tRoPhIeS, that's a hard flex.. Anyways I agreed whole heartedly what you said about that end music, clothing ability, and some side quest I did get pissed, like go talk to a guy ten feet away, should been a option to say go get himself you lazy fuck. Enjoyment or fun is completely detached from criticism. While I cannot say I "enjoyed" Starfield it wasnt an unpleasant experience to play. Xen like relaxation from its tedious and sometimes downright boring design. But irrespective of opinion at best its a painfully average game. "Mid" is the hip term I believe. But still liking and enjoying mediocrity isnt a crime. People out there like weird stuff such as CBT and worse. Zoning out on Starfields placid dullness isnt a crime.
It's definitely underrated. Because the world rated it as the worst game ever. It's very very very far from the worst. It's a good game. By no objective standard is it even bad. Let alone the worst. It wasn't even the worst game of 2023 because some of the absolute worst were released that year.
starfield is fun till the story and npcs kill it. the npcs are all the same with the same opinions, while the story has the most contrived/ monsterous reason for humans ending up in space. starfield is a post apocalyptic world in a shiny skin, nothing has advanced, nothings changed, the biggest city have like 20 people, the world becomes depressing once you realise one dude decided to kill the earth for a possibility and this is what we got.
lol thank you!! Exactly how I feel and I don’t care, I enjoy playing Starfield. Yes it has its flaws like getting from point A to point B but who cares. Im always wanting to improve and level up, what structures I can build, more crew for outposts, security, and robots I can build from previous NGL+, beautiful worlds from different solar systems, etc. Just enjoy the game.
I swear, in my opinion, the MAIN problem is just due to the loading screens, basically not being able to fly into or out of a planet. If that SINGLE problem was fixed, (and maybe the inventory), I would love this game a lot more
no interesting main story, no interesting characters, weak RPG mechanics. The only interesting thing is to create your ship. once it is done the game is over.

I agree with you about the negative RU-vidrs. It must be exhausting churning out negative videos just to get views and grow a channel. Like you, I also started just exploring and enjoying the game for what it was. The last Bethesda game I ever played was Oblivion, and I enjoyed that when it was "new". I'll have to take another look at those plastic flaps though. I haven't been to Mars much.

I think alot of it has to do with burnout, it's got alot going for it and I did really like it at times, but not enough to "beat it"over and over again.
As a former destiny 2 player(6 years) which means i'll keep playing , if that game is even remotely good . I played starfied for a like 2 weeks and never touched it again. AND i don't even care about bugs and graphics .. starfield generally lacks content .(no... AI genrated missions don't count )
I love how disappointed you got when you realized you couldn't use an achievement as an excuse for doing a gay playthrough of the game. In all seriousness though this is the best, most measured, even-take, and entertaining review of Starfield I've seen.
I find it funny that, the people who dislike this game for its 'emptyness' also like new vegas yet, new vegas was well known for NOT encouraging you to explore aimlessly like fallout 3 and 4 focus on. Its a weird situation because, its almost like they only focus on the main quest and the temples and then complain when that gets boring after doing it for the 10th time for that venitor starborn suit. But really starfield is better played in the same light one plays new vegas; you focus on the quests rather than exploring aimlessly. When you play the side missions and faction missions the games far more fun and the fact that the main factions all have unique endings based on your decisions is very reminiscent of new vegas. I think also people are approaching with an "End game is the only thing that matters!!!11!oneone!". No, its the journey, not the end-game, that matters. Thats why new game plus exists the way it does so you can have a full reset on everything and get to see an experience with way more powerful stuff and enemies scaled to it, rather than mindlessly boring radiant missions that skyrim and fallout 4 left you with after you finished everything. Many players even discourage over-running the temples for power and even in-game its warned against by a certain character if you talk to him enough throughout the quest involving him. He warns you to not get addicted to the temples and the power, he tells you to slow down and take in the sights, to do the quests. Because in the end, the hunter is a deconstruction of the exact kind of player to dislike this game, where power, numbers and running to a dungeon to blow up bad guys for exp and lewt being the only thing that matters to them. Where-as the emissary and the priest are the "enjoy the experience on the way, the journey, thats what matters" mindset. The people for whom the journey matters, are the ones finding starfield fun(and can find new vegas fun for the same reason). Those who only care about end game and power power power, who wish to gain power by wandering aimlessly "exploring", are the ones who also didn't like new vegas to, anyways.
so i enjoyed my self but i was constantly butting heads with how the game wanted me to play I was a loner kill monger thats a pirate first explorer second i finished the crismon fleet before meeting everyone at constellation and the game just didnt want me to kill my way through missons a guy tried to black mail me and so my first thot was we are alone in a room im armed and your threating me with the law that i could shoot my way through so i said to my self bet and shot him in the head. the bullet went through him like i didnt even shoot at him so i killed all his security in neon and all the cops. their was also a misson where i was give a choice make these colonist corpo slaves or kill them all i chose option 3 kill the corpos and shoot my way out game didnt like that
I'm not going to be a snob and just rant and rant but this game has clear issues and to be marketed as a console exclusive flagship for the PS5 is a scam and a shame.
Starfield isn't underrated, it's crap. I been seeing some very positives reviews about this game, but i suspect this has nothing to do with something Bethesda did about this game, but instead something that Bethesda did... I believe a lot of the folks defending Bethesda this days are actually modders... I can smell the ponzi scheme here... It's not gonna work, vast majority of players aren't modders... Folks would still see the crap for what it is and will refuse to buy mods for a shty game.
I like starfield, but I can respect some of the criticisms. Like how exploration can feel stale, having a loading screen between entering your ship then taking off from a planet and then landing on a planet, stiff animations, and absolutely God-awful weapon designs, and stuff like that. It has pitfalls, and to be honest, kinda big pitfalls(lets be honest this game upon release feels like its already 5 years old) But as a quasi-realistic space game with goofy scifi stuff in it, its not bad. Its not great, but its good. Definitely a good 40 dollar game with discounted DLCs.
I honestly think Starfield appeals to a certain type of person. A person who enjoys methodically clearing out dungeons, shooting bad guys, getting and selling loot, crafting and customizing. I'm that kind of person. The people who dislike Starfield simple desire a different style of ganeplay.
I’ve got nearly 400hours in, I’m curently on NG10 and playing everything as though it’s the first time, yeah, as you said not perfect, but still very good. Cyberpunk is just awesome, Starfield will get there just like NMS did.
What's crazy about Wildlands is if you replay GR: Future Soldier, you can see all of the mechanics they brought back from that game into Wildlands. And Future Soldier was a banger of a third-person shooter. And dropping out of helicopters at the highest altitude never gets old.
I'm not going to buy the game until it is on a steep discount. Nothing I've seen or heard about the game looks intriguing or like fun. You just made a whole video defending it, and tbh you didn't make it sound any better than the 2 hour long videos saying why it is bad.
As a gamer who actually enjoys being up to date with releases and the industry, I already had plans of buying a PS5, but as an FF fan I HAD TO play FFXVI on launch, so yeah, I kinda bought the new Playstation for the new Final Fantasy. When Square announced XVI with the Awakening trailer back in that one State of Play, I was hooked, and every consecutive trailer just made it seem SO promising. I was as hyped as you could be for XVI, I would watch the trailers again and again, I hummed the music all the time. And when I actually played it achieved my expectations, even surpassed some. This game is so special to me, and Clive's journey of learning to forgive himself and finding purpose genuinely helped me when I was always struggling with self-hate. The hate for this game feels so forced. I can understand the hate for, XIII, XV, even VIII my favorite game, but XVI is on FFVI's level of cohesion and ecxelling at basically everything.
Also, the accessibility rings discourse is so stupid. You can just not use them y'know lol. The only one I used was the Torgal one, because my left hand just isn't good at inputing commands. As was pointed in the video VIIR literally had a "plays itself mode" and nobody complained
