Not really mate (I already have a sponsor), it's just my opinion and if I was looking for another sponsor I wouldn't really try to get one from the US! I would love to get basspro as a sponsor though 😅😅😅 (bassproshops if you're reading this...please) 😅😁 thanks for watching man!
Thanks mate! It's a tough spot, and the last year or so it's even worst. I used to go there and catch at least 3 or 4 decent perch and I don't see one there in a year 😕 so I don't really think it's just the fast retrieve mate, possibly not many there anymore after the big floods last year??
those craws caught me a lot of bass on vacation last september. caught several bass with the biggest measuring 53cm. I tried different lures, but this craw was the one they wanted :-)
Im old enough to remember when we used to have about three or four tackle shops within 10miles of each other. These days we are lucky if we have one or two located near any sort of fishing venue. where im located. A tiny handful of independent tackle shops still exist while the big chain ones seem to get the most business due to being able to have bigger warehouses and floor space. their lure selection tends to be just whatever they can be bothered to get in stock while 70% of the floor space is dedicated to carp fishing. Really sad
I believe it does the job, overall it's a cheap do it all rod! If you try to go more finesse with it you'll notice it lacks sensitivity compared to more expensive rods, but again I've caught fish using small texas rigs with it 😁
@@zombiebitefishing Facts lol. Im joking my guy. I have a Shimano Curado DC on a $40 Bass Pro rod. It’s my lucky rod so no matter the reel, I must keep using this rod😄
Thanks a lot, Lee. I really appreciate it! I wish I could just post videos full of action and big fish, but at the end of the day, it's real fishing and what most of us go through on our session! Thanks a lot again 🙂
@Oldbasshole it's been a bit tough to figure them out to be honest. But had a couple pike this weekend, a decent little one actually 😁 how's the fishing over there?
@@zombiebitefishing it’s been pretty good . Inconsistent but still catching them . Had a fun morning in the yak . Didn’t catch many but the ones I got were solid fish
@odhranoboyle8146 That's the one 😁 a.aliexpress.com/_EQ5agon Although this is a better option in my opinion, I own both! a.aliexpress.com/_EusfBNV Let me know how you like the combo then 😁
@Boombasticfantastic33 I'm using the 0.2, but depending on the reel you're going to use it on, the 0.6 it's probably the better option, this one is actually really thin 😅
Ah mate what a legend!!! Thanks a lot for the super thanks, great help for the new perch combo 😊😊😊 was really nice to meet you buddy, hopefully see you again soon! Did you end up catching anything there?? I had a couple small ones down at the other stretch. Thanks again matey!
That's great! Glad to see some fish on the dane, last year wasn't great there! That marina is really on and off, but I don't catch a perch there in a long time to be honest 😕
100% Patrick! It's rare to have the best of both to be honest, big fish and quantity! There's some good perch there though, some over 2lb, but so difficult to male them bite 😅
@@zombiebitefishing the bigger the fish usually the smarter ! Some ponds around me hold a good amount of bigger fish but they can be tough to catch . The place I’ll hit tomorrow is loaded with fish but not many over 2lbs
@Oldbasshole yeah I know the feeling. There's a little pond near me full of perch bit all micro 😅 the spots with the good ones are a nightmare to get them to bite and they rarely actively feeding when I go there 😅😂
@@zombiebitefishing wind has been making it tough to hit the spots with the better fish for me . Winds been blowing so hard it’s like I’ve got a motor on the kayak !! lol
What line are you using? about to upgrade to the SLX DC from Abu Blackmax, always ran 20lb spider learning thats the dumbest thing I could do but I rarely ever got birdsnest lol
Nice I upgraded from a Promax! 17lb Daiwa JBraid x8 thats the one I was using here. Now I'm using 10lb x8 braid but probably going up to 15lb or 20lb again 🤔😅
@@zombiebitefishing I haven’t broken down and bought any electronics for the kayak yet . I’m more interested in seeing bottom contour and any structure that’s down there as well as temperatures. One of these days I’ll bite the bullet and grab something but a good topographic map of the pond/lake goes a long way !!
@@Oldbasshole it definitely helps, even the cheaper ones, if allows you to see depth, temp and structure it's a big help. Wich one you thinking? I've seen a lot of people using the lowrance, hummingbird and garmin on the £100-150 range.
I bought a TSU Intruder 50S (among other things) earlier this year, but it's like it doesn't wobble at all unless I burn it super fast, which is disappointing. So now I'm a little cautious with Ali hardbaits that rely on a certain action (cranks etc.). Super happy with the rods, reels and softbaits I got from there though.
I know what you saying, I had the same problem with a couple of 50s too. The 46s are definitely better in that aspect. Soft plastics are normally really good, hard baits always a gamble in my opinion. Got some good ones from Meredith, but bigger sizes for pike!
@@zombiebitefishing ahh okay so definitely not a deal breaker then how has she held up? Good starting point for a beginner? Always wanted to start throwing frogs
@moisescontreras9097 I have it for over a year now, it's the reel I use most, feels like new still! Perfect for a beginner being a DC you'll have no issues 😁
Why do you use super thick raided line, is this a catfish setup or is there another purpose for it, I’ve been seeing people use heavier braided on their bait casters and im just curious as to why
That's "just" 30lb braid, it's like standard on any medium pike combo! On my heavier combo I use 60lb but that's for +100g lures. Some people use 80lb or 100lb but that's overkill in my opinion.
Ive had a few cheap lures from aliexpress. Crankbaits do look great cosmetically. But of the ones I received. A few of them weren't properly balanced and the action wasnt great on some of them either. They'll still catch though but I reckon I do lose fish due to the lures not really moving naturally. I go through a lot of rubber lures though. So i'll always stock up at ali's because its just so much cheaper than bigger brands
I agree with all that! Some of the hardbaits are not great, and even the good ones don't have the action of a Salmo or a Rapala for example, but they still good. Soft plastics is another world, there's really good stuff there! What are your favourite brands of soft plastics on Ali?
@@zombiebitefishing Hi man, Ive not really experimented with that many brands on ali so far but i've tried the 'Spinpol Vigour Perch' which is a Kofi perch knock off and some tiny 3cm paddle tail shads from a seller called Ufishing. I havent been able to use the vigour perch much since i got them due to limited time but I did get a crazy amount of perch on the 3cm paddle tails. £2 for 10 but they arent very durable so i have gone through quite a few of them already.
@Rose.Of.Hizaki yeah I have both, the kofi perch are good too! But the 3cm ones slay perch everywhere! Tsurynoia, Meredith, Kingdom and Supercontinent are great!
@@zombiebitefishing Speaking of Kingdom. They are the seller I bought the hardbaits from. I bought like 5 from their store for £28 which makes them roughly between £4-5 each. The same lures now cost under £4 but since not all of them are balanced properly, im probably not going to shop there again. I know they are sinking lures but some of them are tail heavy so fall tail first if you stop cranking and twitching them. On the listing for the lures it said they were supposed to have a fluttering or rolling motion as they fall through the water. I think only two or three out of the 5 have this. I'll probably give Tsurynoia a go next since you've had good luck with them.
@Rose.Of.Hizaki never tried the Kingdom hardbaits, but even the Tsurinoya are not as good as a Salmo. The 4.6cm though are better than the 5cm, and the bigger ones for pike like 12cm are actually really good!
