Did he die or something? Been sometime since he uploaded anything. Hope you're well buddy, and if you're dead then well you had a good one! Here's a aphorism from voices by Antonio porchia. "Sometime i think everything i see does not exist, because everything isee is what i saw and everything that i saw does not exist "

Real footage of these perspectives should exist, but don't, and there's no good reason not to capture it. Just one of many, many ways we know they're full of shite.

They'll never show us this footage. They can't; the landing sites don't exist. They pretend they don't want to disturb the sites, but there's nothing to disturb, no atmosphere to even create a wake that would ruffle the GARBAGE below either. Bunch of BS.

Oh-oh-oh, you should proceduralily spread some real rocks on the surface, not just a microtexture! 😏 Aaah, I need a decent PC to be able to play with it myself!! 😭

Could you please reconstruct the Apollo 15 landing site? With that car, just to make the distances more sensible. 😊 Sorry, your video is bookmarked, but right now I don't have such a powerful PC to make it myself. Working on it… :) Speaking of which, I bet a lot of people would love to have a downloadable "game" where they could tour the Apollo landing sites.

Hello Jonny, I recently purchased a patreon membership in order to try this out. I opened your jupyter notebook codes. But the codes are little bit different with the video. My landscape map is so smooth. I couldnt give the map altitudes. What should I do? Thanks.

This is fantastic. Just stumbled across your channel and I've gotta say I would 100% pay for a lunar, or better a full on Sol system, exploration simulator with 100% real maps. Absolutely brilliant.

Are you able to tile the surfaces of an entire planet or moon with meshes of various resolution so only the highest resolution is close to the camera?

I often see it during my hiking in the countryside but where I actually live it's barely visible and the only reason it is is because i live by the sea and the sea direction is quite dark.

I've been recreating different planets and the Moon for an edutainment VR experience/game. It takes a lot of time to process those raw image files and a lot of hit and miss to incorporate them in a scientifically accurate manner. This video grabbed my attention fast and you just earned another Patreon supporter. Great content and I love the fact based yet entertaining approach. Best Regards!

Dude we never went on the moon tho , talk about a lie we brainwashed ourselves to believe, and if it is real then why TF we dont have more footage , updated footage , more immersive footage ? With all money and tech push we got now and we simply cant get a spaceman on a gopro to go out and actually investigate in real time ....sorry its fake it just is ...if anything - robots or drones made it there ....maybe ....but nope , we got even better space crafts and more advanced procedures and machinary in this day and STILL STILL we cant even get a dumb youtuber on the moon grabbing some moon dust for a dumb vid ....sorry homie any human landing on the moon is pure fake Only way to prove that the old moon landing was real is to do it again but withmore accuracy, affective and easier way... with all upadted gear and studies........we have all the stuff and are so called "space ready" to start exploring space but we still cant get 1 guy/crew onto a stupid close moon....so we would rather choose to blaintly lie about it

I'm fortunate enough to live a relatively short drive (4 hours) from an international dark sky reserve. It's one of the few in the eastern US. I make regular pilgrimages up on clear moonless nights in the summer. There's something magical about it.

I Live In Mumbai City, and I Remember When the Outskirts of the City had almost no Lighting, and You could actually _See_ the Sky Glowing over Parts of the City. As you got Further Away from the City, the Stars would slowly Reappear, not like a Rural place with no light Pollution, but Enough to see more of them than you would in the City. It’s both Stunningly Inspiring and Slightly Concerning how Quickly we Managed to Light up Our World at Night. 🌙

It may be my bias, but I felt that you conflated the extremely mild interference caused by Starlink (I've tried 15 times to see Starlink trains, utilizing online trackers and I've succeeded only three times) with the extremely profound interference caused by light pollution. Other than that concern, I felt that this was well done and useful as a primer. The meat of the discussion - and the thing that I've not seen satisfactorily discussed - is how viable it is for ground based astronomy to work around the problem. Can techniques like computer-assisted selective trimming be used? Can a worldwide database that shows the exact location of each satellite be tied into astronomy software to preemptively tell astronomers "there is about to be a satellite pathing across your scan window"? Too, I wish that Tim had been able to take his point one step further: by increasing access to space, SpaceX's Starship should make the notion of bespoke megaproject telescopes seem antiquated. Because if you can more casually and cheaply launch astronomy equipment in much larger rocket fairings, then you can begin to apply economies of scale to the production of such equipment and significantly cheapen it. Imagine a future where the James Webb Space Telescope isn't worth knowing the name of, because there are hundreds. Much of the reason JWST was expensive was that it needed to fit into a small rocket fairing and then do like 400 steps to unfold itself once launched.
