I really want to add haptics to my rig but I live in an appartment, I use some isolation pads on my rig but I doubt it would be enough for regular shakers. Do you feel they are quiet enough and the vibration is isolated enough to the rig so that someone can use it in an appartment while being on an upper floor ?
I’ve just added these onto my wheel, I love the design the only thing is they feel a little too smooth after the standard handles which were slightly rubbery perhaps they’ll improve with wear…
Super informative, as always! We haven't experienced this system first hand yet, but will second your thought on the magic always being in the fine tuning per user 👌
Enjoyed your review! Quick question, I'm running this wheelbase and sometimes the feedback cuts out (but I can still steer). Does that indicate that the inputs from the game are set too aggressively ? I'm hoping the wheelbase itself isn't faulty.
Great review I’ve owned this kit for the past year. I would just add the more you play around with Sim Hub you can dial this in at four corners and get incredible effects like the review said less is more, but you really got to get your hands dirty in Sim Hub to get the most out of it. Also like to add my sound card died on me causing the system not to work. Emailed slip angle they sent me out another other one at no cost. Great customer service.
Isolation and an Equalizer are two basic additions that boost haptics to the next level. I'd still mount the shakers directly to the seat (no drilling needed) and under pedals, though.
I just put this kit to my TR160. I have it set up and working. The only thing im not 100% happy with is LAG. It is not too uncomfortable but it is noticiable. Dont know if is a Simhub/software issue or what. I only tried it with Le Mans Ultimate. Anyone with same issue?
I haven't experienced any lag, I would try another sim and see if you notice any still. I tested on ACC, iRacing and AMS2 and didn't experience any noticeable lag.
personaly for me i wasvonly blow away when try after trying haptic connect and simhub the Iracing LFE.The feedback is way faster and cleaner.plus with buttkicker you should't do more then 35 check your amp for cliping if its very noisy its sured that its cliping creating distortion😊😊
dont wanna offend anyone but Iracing lfe feels better then simhub. I wish rfactor has same lfe directvlike iracing cause i dont like sim hub wish sone one tp share they profile for rfactor
I tend to agree as I always used iracing LFE with my buttkicker pro but in the case if this kit. Simhub works much better and Is necessary in order to set up left right front and rear effects.
@@rkwjunior2298 I’d assume so because these bass shakers can take 50w only. Leaves you 100w to connect extra 2. Under and back of the seat is a must in my opinion. I’m not so sure about corners, I find it hard to believe you can distinguish as most of it lost through the frame travel.
Great review! How would you compare the overall feedback / immersion between 3 DOF motion system with a single buttkicker vs the slipangle haptics kit? Would you prefer haptics only over motion?
This design addresses a huge issue no one recognizes: the bass shaker’s effect scales with its ability to shake what it’s mounted to. When you mount directly to the frame, only a small fraction of the vibrations make it to your seat. Don’t get me wrong; I love over engineered designs, but this is wayyyy over engineered. If you want to have more vibrations reach your seat, then mount the transducer to the seat. That said, I love the price. I don’t have a clue how they’re making a profit. Seriously, I hope they can pay their bills. So fine, I’ll put the tiny rally car suspension on my sim rig. But the $50 transducer mounted to my seat will still provide more brrrrrrt over the curbs.
@TheOfficialOriginalChad Its not just feeling it in ur seat. If you drive over bumps in a car you don't feel in the seat, u feel it in the chassis. But the biggest part is you can tell what side of the car the bumps are on.
@@rkwjunior2298 …the driver is mounted to the seat in a race car, not the chassis. If you’re referring to the pedal box, you’re closer to right, but vibrations tend to create input noise with load cell and potentiometer pedals.
@TheOfficialOriginalChad Im not talking about pedals. The seat is attached to the chassis. Road vibrations come through the tires, the suspension, which is attached to the chassis. In a car u can feel what corner or side the vibrations are coming from, for the most part. If you have something attached to ur seat for vibrations then u can't determine what side it's coming from. Your bypassing any chassis vibrations.
@@rkwjunior2298 I have been instructing professional drivers for 20 years and haven’t met anyone that has butt senses tuned as such…but I’ve met a few that thought they did. Vibrations dissipate through the chassis, they spread, they are not a “straight line signal” to the seat. It’s additional context clues that signal your brain to the source of the vibration, such as the chassis moving, or sound of the suspension creaking. Try it yourself. Put headphones on, turn up some music, close your eyes, and have someone tap parts of your race car chassis with a rubber mallet. If you’re in an enclosed cockpit you can even have them tap around the cockpit and you’d be surprised to learn all the vibrations feel the same without your other senses providing input.
I use an Asetek wheel base, but the problem with this button box is the quick release is integrated. Which means you cannot adjust the length. The stand alone QR's they sell on their site come with 3 lengths of adjustability, and I use the medium for most of my wheels. This means I cannot even use their button box because it would sit too far away. It's a nice looking option, too bad the QR is not adjustable.
They are coming out with an extension that works with their own steering wheels - check out this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jUUe81CugeA.htmlsi=ZwQzFKtG_sBRA3Iy
Just received the tracking info for a forte wheel base, forte button box, leather round wheel, and the front mount. Moving up from a 923... can't wait!
@@scottmeadows4337 Received and set it up yesterday. Wow the difference is incredible. I already beat my GT4 718 cayman personal best on this weeks track by a second and a half... Hopped into a test drive in the GT3 Z06 at road atlanta and beat my bp by a little more than a second. The wheel is so much more communicative which is allowing me to catch slides I would have had no chance to previously.
The Likewise shift knob is pretty cool. I have the same one in my real car. EDIT: Nvm, I think it’s a knock-off. I was referring to the Likewise Daytona knob.
