20:34 Tonight in Burlington, what happens when Heirloom Instrumentation meets a possible wedding march? Find out what happens on tonight's "Cultural Learnings..." (snark redacted) 2 26:10: Is that a sculpture? -1 30:30 Think any of those sailboats ever (inadvertently, I'm sure) brought Prohibited Cargo across the border? Maybe a local person has some dubious tales to tell about good, clean, American mischief and Burlington's role in facilitating it (folks on both sides of 45N are welcome to chime in)? Please be sure to respect the statute of limitations (some stuff should remain legendary).
My hometown! I recently performed in the town hall shown at the beginning for am eclipse celebration. This must have been filmed on a Sunday evening judging by the lack of cars parked and businesses not open. Lol
At 8:48, used to live on the 2nd floor of the building on the northeast corner. There was a restaurant on the first floor that was called the Rainbow Room.
I grew up here in the 1970s. Amazing how little it's changed, especially with a layer of snow to cover things. Yeah, the foot bridge is new but aside from that.
May I ask why there are two cities named Waterbury in the States? One is here, the other one is in Connecticut. I'm just wondering ( I'm not American obviously )
It stinks they put up that extra fencing…but Hartford was tired of closing down Route 4 as this became the place to commit suicide & it’s a long way down The cost of retrieving the victim & closing Route 4 to do it was just too much. It’s a lovely walk down but remember you have to go back up. Beautiful area.
Yep me again. I installed an Elevator in the old Meyer building on Church st back in 1965, before it became the Pedestrian walk that it is now. I watch the cam on the corner by Ben and Jerry's a lot checking out the Popcorn guy! agan thanks for sharing ECF
I installed an Elevator in the Girls dorm at the college back in 1967! I still have a 200w light bulb from the building during construction! and it still works!. bought my first pair of Sorel Boots at the hardware store there too!. and spent many a time in the local book stores over the yeras. found memories. thanks for sharing. ECF
I used to live there as a kid on Main Street, not far from the beginning of the video towards Sunoco gas station. Watching your video reminds me of my childhood. I still remember every detail of the “city” and it seems that some things have changed. Thank you for making this video.
Like 37 👍 Greetings from Naples, Florida. What a beautiful day for a walk. We enjoyed the sights, sounds and scenery. So much to see there. Thanks for sharing, have a great week. 💯
When I was teaching at Middlebury college, 2000-2015, I often drove through Brandon, and my wife and I even looked at some houses there to buy, but I decided it was too far away for me to travel to class on a snowy day. It is, indeed, a welcoming town. This walk was mesmerizing. Thank you for screening?
Wow! I drove through Vergennes many times, but never got out and walked about town. And missed walking down to see the falls. I wonder how much electricity its hydroelectric plant generates. Thank you for screening?
When I was teaching at Middlebury College, my wife and I looked at a house to live in nearby Bristol, but I decided that on snowy days I would not be able to attend classes. And, indeed, a professor on my department started living here, but shifted to Middlebury after a year, I’m sure for the same reason. But it is clearly a pleasant town. Thank you for screening.
Wow! It’s great to see the Echo Museum, 11:30! Twenty years ago I went there with my family and my granddaughter took a test that showed how smart she is, and she has just graduated from college with a degree in engineering. One of the things we saw was a screening of our faces when we will look old. So now that I am 86, I wish I had taken a picture of what it showed. Or, better that I could go back and see what I will look like when I am 106. Thank you for evoking so many memories!
Back in the early 1990s, my wife and I attended a meeting at Breadloaf and stayed overnight at the Chipman Inn, 2:09. I even see the window to the room we slept in. Thank you for screening!
