Dear stick this video is just amazing thank you for explaining so thoroughly and cautiously what to do to change the antenna.this is exactly the video quality I was looking for. Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Thnx, really helpful to see, most reviewers totally forget about this part of the bike. I'm picking up mine next week so this is great to already get familiar. Just don't understand why they didn't add hazard lights, I thought that was standard on all bikes and mandatory by now in Europe at least but guess not.
Thanks for the video. I am picking up my Tuareg next week (hopefully) from SeaCoast in NH. Can you tell me where you did this ride? I am looking for all the dirt trails I can find. Hope you are still liking the Tuareg!
Thanks for the kind words, you will love the bike. There are some dirt roads in the mason NH area that are no longer maintained by the town. Some of them are part of the Flatlander Route. Do a google search and you can find the mapped route.
Great tutorial. I've had the bike since last fall and somehow didn't know I could use the cruise control speed switch to adjust ATC on the fly. Really could have used that during my last ADV ride.
Thank you for this! I just took delivery of mine and spent an hour trying to make out what’s what! Please make more tutorials as you learn about the bike!
It's possible to connect your phone with the MIA plug-in, but after speaking with the dealer he said nobody has ordered that option so far because it's not really useful. For navigation it only shows arrows and not a map on the screen, so not really worth it to lose other screen info over that, and you need to bother with a extra specific app and bluetooth connection. Much easier to just have a phone or GPS mounted on the extra bar that's made for that exact reason.
Very nice job way better than most have done on this bike thanks for the help. Bought this bike used with 680 miles owner never got into any details about the settings but he did give a thumb drive of it .This was much easier than the manual !
@@SticksTricks thank you I will try once I can find a replacement so far I’ve only found it online for nearly 400$ and I want to find something less than that
Thanks for this! I am attempting a 3G+ MMI retrofit on my pre facelift b8 avant and have to route a GSM cable to the shark fin and I was worried I was gonna have to drop the whole headliner.
Hey Sticks, thanks for the video. Shame on Aprillia for not covering a known issue like that under warranty! I'm. thinking of getting an Aprillia. It's a toss up between that and an Tenere. I like the idea of getting the better performing bike, but I worry about reliability and getting parts. How has your bike been over time? If I road up to Alaska, would I worry about getting stranded. Any thoughts? Thanks!
I would trust the Aprilia. The new ones are very sorted out. I sold my Tuareg after 3,500 miles of completely trouble free riding, on and off road. The intake noise and performance is amazing, I miss mine every day.
People do say that putting oil in the new oil filter before installation is not necessary. Who knows. But the oil filter should be tight enough just by using both hands as hard as one can when putting it in. Mechanics just use hands so should be ok for us mortals too 😁
I don't know on the tuareg but on engine generaly you don't need to fill the filter because you will have to turn on the engine on anyway to fill it entirely before doing your final oil level check.
I sold it after 3,500 miles of completely trouble free riding, on and off road. I do miss it quite a bit. Another one may be in my future at some point.
Man I have spent 3 hours on this job and canNOT get the wire to go through the throttle side. I have pushed it all the way into the bar and it will not come out at the end. At this point I don't know what to do. I've lubed it but can't loosen the handlebar bolts to tilt it. I'm pretty freaking frustrated at this point.
HAve the heed skid plate, 1 is cheap, 2 if the bottom gets hit, the bolt head will deform that you cannot remove it... I brought a HDPE marine 1/4" plate and used silicon and 4 bolts to hold it, so the bolts heads are covered and also protects... is fine for the price
I'm going to pick up my Tuareg in 4 days and am conducting my preliminary study regarding the accessories I want to install. An absolutely excellent video you have made with good advice. I think the Heed bash plate is one of the uglier ones....but it seems to be well constructed which is the important thing. I hope you are happy with all the Heed accessories you have fitted, I will probably choose the same equipment on my bike.
Very good instructions! I did the whole Heed crash bars and skid plate install the exact way you explained it some weeks ago. As mentioned before, also my OEM exhaust cover bolt was tricky to remove. Had to use my impact driver for getting this loose. And I was glad having my ratchet wrenches. I used blue loctite for all bolts. Oil change needed 8 screws to be removed - no chance changing the filter with the skid plate attached. My dealer had no issies with that at 1st inspection. I like the quality and the price of the parts. No fear with concrete obstacles and bottoming out on them.
Great explanation of the issue. I just ordered a new 22 that my dealer had on the floor and will only pick it up in the spring as I’m in Canada so the riding season is almost over but I have a friend who has this issue on his 22 model and was told by the dealer there is no fix available in Canada. I’m hoping it will come soon and hope my bike will be ok.
Hello, did you noticed any increases oil consumption in your bike? Theres some reports of incresed oil burning in these engines. Tuono and rs660 had problems with this issue in the past .(this is the same engine different camshaft )
I believe those issues have been fixed with the current generation of engines. Mine never burned, used, or leaked a drop of oil in the 3K miles I owned the bike.
