Nice tutorial but frankly a bit shallow. Could you make a video on how to setup the two independent stable systems that these new receivers seem to support. You should have two gyros with separate gains at your disposal right?
I'm currently using the SR10-Pro and the TD-SR18. Each has its own setup procedures'. I've had total success with both of these. As a matter of fact. I have other stabilized receivers and had no issue setting them up. They all work wonderfully. Except. I find the default gains a bit too high. Other than that. They work beautifully.
hey steve i have a x20s i have been setting up a new flying wing for the last couple of days and today whem i turned on the radio i had no sound. did not even say welcome to ehtos. my radio is in the must current firmware was working fine yesterday. have any idea i really need those call out for the wing. i have even tried to change volume to other pod. still no sound. main voice 1 is set for US . thank for any help you may have
Steve, at 5:50, when you set up 3 curves each selected by one switch position, isn't it simpler (and same result) to have one curve and set input to "Switch A" in general (not a specific position of Switch A)? I have mine set up this way, and I don't see any difference in end result. I can edit the three points, and Switch A moves the output across those three points on one curve. Maybe there is some benefit to having 3 flap curves and using only 1 of the three points on each curve (as shown in the video), but if so I'm not understanding what that benefit is.
Hi Steve. I have no issue setting up flight modes 0,1 and 2. What I need is a "fourth" flight mode. I created FM4 in flight modes. I assigned a two-position switch to it. Then I went into my mixers, aileron and elevators. I made sure FM 4 was enabled. I also made sure in the "trims" menu that I have made sure independent trims is enabled on each flight control. What is not happening is that FM 4 is not enabled on the main screen. What steps have I missed? thanks
Hi Steve. I'm unable to calibrate the gyro on the TD-SR18. The latest firmware update causes the calibration to fail. I am using the latest scripts as well.
Hi - good video, but I also have the problem someone had below where when I edit a flight mode, all I get presented with is 'Active condition', 'Fade in' and 'Fade out' options. I have set all of the trims to 'Independent trims per flight mode', but no trim setting options appear. I think I have the latest version of Ethos running, as this was installed by the supplier I bought my FrSKY X18 from. Anyone any ideas?
Hi - found the solution! On Ethos 1.5.x the trim settings don't appear in the flight mode definition, they are adjusted using the trim sliders in each of the flight modes where you want the trims to be flight mode dependant.
Great video! Really helped get my x20s working properly! I have got a question about flight modes? Have got x20s and using tdsr10 receiver. I’m running stabilised modes on FM1/2 And flaperons and tailerons (takeoff and landing) using FM 3/4 This works well for separate trims. But when I select FM1 or 2(stability modes) it overrides the other modes for flaps ( flaperons/ tailerons) Would be nice to run stability Will using landing flaps! Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Cheers Richard 😎
All good information for BASIC mode stabilization setup thank you. Now where is the advanced stabilization course? 😁 The TDSR12 manual says download / install three LUA scripts to use in setting up stabilization then a couple of pages later says you need to use RBmixer and a computer to configure ADV stabilization feature. There is very little current documentation and no tutorials I can find on setting up / using advanced stabilization. I am working on a model that I want to add stabilization to the canards on Ch 6&7 but documentation seems to indicate that must be done in advanced mode, if it can be done at all. Can you please put an advanced stabilization tutorial on your to do list?
I have no seen anyone talk about the sr recivers with gas or turbine plane. How good are the sr tabelizer? Has this proven. Please help to provide video.
Hi Steve, many thanks for your interesting tutorial. I followed every steps with my X20S + Frsky telemetry and only date, time and transmitter voltage are recorded. Nothing from telemetry although I get all data on my transmitter when flying. Any clue what I'm doing wrong. Thanks
Hey Steve, can you do this Flap to Elevator setup in flight modes. Looking for a way to do 3 positions, off, takeoff, landing. Can this be done using a premix? How would flight modes do this common setup?
This is awesome 👏🏾 I think maybe this can help me in separating the gyro levels based on axis(pitch, roll, yaw)? I’d like to use my archer SR10 Gyro with the gains on each axis on a switch especially during my first flights so I can fine tune my planes better. Is this possible with my setup? SR10 and S20s transmitter? I’m used to doing this on my spektrum radios
Thank a lot for sharing. Any idea if the new frsky RS would work with Futaba receivers. I understand I ll need a module for it to work with spektrum receivers. Thx
Howdy. Question: I have been able to get the stabilization working in a test plane of mine. But when I've put it in an F-16 EDF, after the Self Test, the plane won't respond to any inputs when the Stabilization is turned on in the transmitter. The plane works fine with it off. But when it's turned on, the plane's control surfaces are completely non-responsive. Any tips? The stabilization seemed to work ok before I self tested. But once I've self tested that receiver, the stabilization locks up the plane. thanks!
@@steveschlesinger3459 this still does not work with archer sr6. the set up wizard choceing the sr6 , when i go to bind the it will not recognizes the rx does not make it easy when you cant not bind it
steve is there any way to tie the differentail value to say a trim switch or pot so you can adjust it on the fly and not have to go back and forth in to the mix screen so you can test it in flight and add or subtact the value
Steve, I’ve been trying to figure this out for the past 2 days to setup the same thing on the same plane. I cannot for the life of me figure this out. I tried the same way you did and it won’t work. Doesn’t do anything. Right now if I don’t plug in the single wire it works in forward thrust just fine. When I plug in the reverse wire it stays in reverse and won’t go to forward no matter what I do. Please help
Steve, I am running Ethos 1.5.6 and set up my countdown timer as you suggested. However I am getting no audio call outs during the countdown. Has this feature been removed?
That looks like the dogs' bollox i cant wait to get my teeth into that watching the video that looks so similar to the flagship tx's of my old favorite Radio & i agree the stabilisation of the Frsky rx's without question fly on rails 👍 & its the 2.4 & 900 that was why i moved to frsky.
I think using flight modes will be a lot easier. Flight modes will allow the trim to be remembered between each flap setting from there can be easily re-trimmed versus guessing on the amount of compensation by using a mix.
