2 years later.. Great episode once again! The test of time.. How 80's vintage toys have brittle elastic bands for the legs and waist only to snap so easily from aging. Not all, but many of them. G.I. Joe and Motu come to mind. Still! Some toy makers like Hasbro and Mattel have since released new versions of those lines for everyone to enjoy them once again, like the MOTU Origins which keeps the aesthetics and nostalgia from the vintage line and offer modern articulations. Granted it's not vintage, but you can pose them now!
When you compare DC's Swamp Thing you picked up with the new MOTU Moss Man from MOTU Revolution 7", the similarities are so clear imo. It's fun to see how the artists who worked on the Netflix MOTU Revolution show must have pulled inspiration from Swamp Thing designs over the years who is so iconic. Artists inspired by artists, that's how we do this! Keeps the creative juices flowin. Great episode Theo, thanks again.
I just think that if Hasbro and Mattel sold their own 3D printers so people can make their own action figures they would make millions. They could even sell 3d OBJ. sculpts on their website for people to download to mix/match and customize instead of sculpting their own on 3D software. He'll I'd buy it
Thanks for introducing Bill Making Stuff, Theo! Just Subsribed to his Channel; now to binge a few of his episodes. Awesome lore for the origins of your Tonk, maybe create one of the Flying vehicles if that's a thing on that planet? Cheers.
Jet Set Radio is surprisingly still popular with young people and its getting a new game soon. It also inspired the recent game Bomb Rush Cyberfunk which I bet you’d love. I dunno if you remember the old Genesis game Eternal Champions, both those characters would fit the retro figure style super well. Old school Mortal Kombat characters would probably do numbers on youtube too
@@pandafresh Yeah man I did actually see that bomb rush cyber funk a few months bacm and thought maybe it's just a cheap knockoff but from the reviews I have now read and the trailers I've seen I want to play it for sure
Awesome stuff. Just back from a 7-day trip to Rome with my wife for my 50th birthday and Profondo Rosso was high on my list. Visited the shop on a Tuesday afternoon and unfortunately Mr Cozzi wasn't there there but we were told he would be there on Wednesday and Thursday so we came back on Thursday. I bought a book, which Mr Cozzi signed and had my picture taken with him. And I bought that same Contamination t-shirt.
Your creativity really comes through Theo! As always, you keep me on the edge of my seat wanting to see more. Your channel is one of the few I take the time to watch 100% everytime I binge on Slime House TV. You know how to tell a good story as the video unfolds and what you managed to pull off with random pieces is simply outstanding. As you would say, "you smashed it!" Kudos!
You've inspired me to sculpt playmates style action figures and I'm having a lot of fun ! Thank you so much for sharing your passion with us ! I am 19 so I never played with figures like that and these designs really grew on me !
Worms Actionfigure (there is this Worms Boardgame with Worms Minis but an Actionfigure would be great) with swopable weapons...with the Minis the solution with the floating Hands they did is perfect..& Something more modern: Binding of Isaac would be also super funny
Cool spot , earthworm Jim, B.O.B , man I love your videos I was born in 1978 and the early 80s 90s is my era when I watch ya vids I always get a nostalgic trip
Late to the game so congrats to the winner, but I wanted to chime in. I Never defeated Mike Tyson in the original Punch Out! game on the 8-bit NES. I used to walk across the street to my neighbor's house and watch him climb all the way to the top without losing 1 bout to any Boxer and finishing the game with Mike Tyson never knocking him out once. He made little Mac feel more like a Big Mac! lol👊
Hey Theo, Alex from Polygon Treehouse here. If you ever fancied making character from our indie games (Röki/Mythwrecked) then you'd be more than welcome to 👍🏻
Incredible collection Theo! I am shocked you did not slip in a little mention for your Panthor flocked from Toys R Us! Your MOTU vintage collection blew me away! IMO you should also make a custom Slime House Battle Beast character with it's own bio to fit into their universe; they were one of the coolest toys when I was a kid. Keep the up the great vids! Ty
Spin Master recently started doing PlayStation Sony first party characters as toys so they currently have Aloy and the other guy, The Last of Us, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima. NECA also did some Last of Us figures as well. There’s some vintage Cool Spot figures out there as well but he definitely needs some modern ones. Storm Collectibles also does some awesome but pricey Golden Axe and Streets of Rage figures and recently Jakks Pacific started doing SEGA figures in 4” scale along with all their Super Mario and Sonic stuff. Currently they’ve only done retro Axel from Streets of Rage, the werewolf from Altered Beasts and Ai Ai from Super Monkey Ball but they’ve shown off some other upcoming ones like the dragon from Altered Beasts so they possibly will get to some of those other Sega characters. Awesome channel and custom toys!
Talking about Arena, another classic from that time frame is Spacehunter: adventures into the forbidden zone, another great film is class of 1999, keep brining our childhoods to life dude 🤙
I think Sloth from the Goonies would look great in that Playmates style and articulation. I've always wanted to do a bunch of lemmings from the game Lemmings. Nice simple designs but could have loads of character added, same with the worms from Worms.
I'm old so my suggestion is from an old 80s sci-fi movie "spacehunter adventures in the forbidden zone". The villain "Overdog" scared the crap out of me, he's half robot and I think would look cool in your style! Keep creating Theo, love your vids ❤️
Arthur from Ghouls and Ghosts! Removable armour? A monster from Ghoulies. Kid Chameleon with different masks Owlboy (very good game) A creature from Creatures. Love what you do.
Can you make a Slime House/Playmate style version of a Space Marie and a Ork too. They would look Awesome together. Also I love some of the Figures you made so far and Can’t wait to see more.
Man this is KILLER. You nail this aesthetic so well, every single time! Resin Tip: Sometimes when i leave resin in my vat for a few months and I'm not changing it out, I'll use a gloved finger or a silicon mixer and just lightly mix all the sediment up and back in to the suspension and it's good to go.
