Hey buddy, great videos. Looks like you're enjoying your bike! I'm looking to get back into MTBing after coming off badly 10 years ago, so am looking for a new do it all stead and I rode the Cube stereo one77 (aka 170) around the bike shop at the weekend. I'm liking the idea of the 170 travel for that sense of security but don't want to loose my ability to enjoy the short sharp rugged uphill bursts that my local in nature tracks demand. What are your thoughts? My alternative would be a trial bike. From everything I read it sounds like this could be considered a long travel trial bike???
@bikeandbeyond
@bikeandbeyond 3 дня назад
Hello mate. Yeah I have this bike for a few years now and it has served me well. My cube stereo is 160 upfront and 150 in the rear. It more of an endurobike, designed mostly for gravity riding but has the ability to climb too. In my experience this is great bike for bikepark jumps and things but can be a real slog on trail centre days. If you are planning on riding loads of big jumps and drops then 170 is great, but if you are planning on riding trails most of the time then a trail bike is probably the best idea. Slightly shorter travel but more snappy and playful. My next bike will likely be a 150 trail bike and I plan to ride it on all the same trails and jumps that I do now. Something like a stumpjumper evo is more than capeable for trail days or trips to bike park wales etc

Due to a life changing injury, I can no longer MTB here, but am thinking very seriously about a Mountain Trike. I would really like to know wether the Blue Run is possible (with the right training,obviously!) Anyone done this? Help.

Hello Pal Love the content. Can i ask. Im thinking of getting a Trek Top Fuel 7 bike. Would you recommend this for mountain trailing? If not what would you recommend please. I am getting this top fuel for under £1900. Thanks
@bikeandbeyond
@bikeandbeyond 7 дней назад
Hey, I have just had a quick look at the bike. Firstly, I’ve had a good experience with trek bikes. In my opinion they are reliable and ride nicely. The Top Fuel 7 looks like a great entry level full sus. If your goal is trail riding and trail centres then this will be a great bike. It has just enough suspension to make the ride smoother and handle a few interesting features. For the price it looks pretty good👍🏻 I always say that going and sitting on it or having a small test ride is the best option to check the fit and feel of it.

Yeah the Bizango should cope with the red and blue absolutely fine. Something downcountry for the peak is definitely a good way to go. I take my endurobike around the peak and it is great on the downhills but not so good on the uphills. A capable trail bike/ downcountry would be much better (the canyon lux looks like a decent bike too). I have been looking at Canyon recently too.

@creativechimp03
@creativechimp03 9 дней назад
Hey Ollie, great vid. Thinking of heading over there from the Peaks, running a 2018 Bizango like your old one, think it will handle the trails well? I'm fairly confident on a bike and the trails look pretty flowy? Also, any 2024 thoughts on sub £2500 FS bikes? I can't decide being in the peaks if a downcountry bike like a Canyon Lux Trail will be best as although I tackle stuff like Jacobs Ladder etc and it's short travel, there is so much climbing around here so all my rides end up being hill fests. What are modern FS trail bikes like to climb on?

@bikeandbeyond 11 дней назад
Hi Scott, unfortunately I don’t think I do. I usually forget to start my Strava. Quite a few of the trails were really easy to find (off the main fire roads etc) but we ended up riding all over the place. There are plenty there to explore. Might be worth checking out Trailforks or something for a bit of an idea where to search.

Maintenance - the only work they've done in the last 3 years has been to add rollers to the top of the jumps on the bridge line. All that's done is made them worse, and impossible to ride. The owners only care about the cafe now, and even that's not great. Some of the food reviews are horrendous. The knuckles on all the tables on the red trail are just ridiculously daft too. Totally unneccessary. The place has huge potential, they just need a couple of people with strimmers and shovels, and maybe a week of spare time over the course of a year.

Sherwood Pines is a major disappointment considering how popular it seems. The place is packed full of fun activities for families and offers a good setting for leisurely rides. But the blue and red bike trails offer very little reward for the effort that goes into getting round them.
@bikeandbeyond
@bikeandbeyond Месяц назад
Yeah the trails should both be graded as a light blue. There is nothing challenging on the red.

I finally bought a second hand standard 2022 bizango for only £300 and I love it! It only needs a bit of maintenance like a new chain and brakes bleeding and it will be perfect, thanks for the recommendation! Funnily enough i think ill be going to sherwood pines to get my girlfriend into biking as I've given her my old gaint atx and it should be easy enough to let her gain confidence, then ill probably give the Northampton park a go. But i need to find a more local area around oxford/Carterton but not had any luck finding any😢 any that you recommend?
