Love what you are doing here. I have an editorial shoot to deliver today, I’m going to use your link and run a pass on the images to see what I get. Thanks!!!
I’m expecting mine today. I already have a ML60 and a ML30. It’s gonna be a god sent gift to replace the SL150ii with this for outdoors shoots (with access to power outlets). I use the SL150ii as a main light and the ml30 and the ml60(at 50% power) as rim lights for interviews in a 3 camera setup. Minus 3 kilograms in the bag 🥳
Hello again Ely . Thank you , but what about the Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens for Portraits and landscapes with your GFX system ? Will this lens give Exceptional portraits and landscape ?
@@Fedow_twins yes the proprietary Godox mount but now together with the ml100bi, Godox released a Godox to Bowens adapter as well. So you can use anything
@@ThePhotographerGuy I've got the camera new and just saw it can only make three bracket shots. Without any filter during daylight my plan is to merge photos then for a higher dynamic range. Of course there are limitations.
I just found your channel and enjoy this comparison. I shoot mostly birding and landscaping and use the R7 and have now purchased the R8. Would it be worth trading and going with the R6 II?
Oh, nice. I haven't used those two cameras, but I do love the R6 II. The af is up there with the R3. I would probably just upgrade if you need a better AF system.
@@dansolo7781 No. But if you shoot in 35 mm mode it comes out without dark corners. I use this lens for panorama so little loss of file size doesn't matter to me. But it is a sharp lens and affordable.
It's amazing Canon didn't incorporate a mode dial lock button on the R6II, a camera that is obviously aimed at the prosumer and pro user groups. Also don't like that they moved the on/off. Maybe there was a design requirement that drove the change but control familiarity between models is no small consideration, especially when you're mixing bodies in the same shoot.
Love the video! With your settings, when you're enabling/disabling eye tracking with your back button, are you pressing and holding that button down while also pressing your shutter? So is it a 2 button press when you snap a picture with eye tracking? Just trying to understand what you're doing on the controls during the section where you're photographing your daughter in motion.
Yes. I hold the back button for Eye af while pressing the shutter. then I just have the stutter set to af on for when I want to photo on a specific spot.
What is the USB-C power delivery on your Vmount battery there, cause it seems its only 60w. If you were to plug into a battery bank that had a 100w PD you would be fine powering the light.
Thank you for this unboxing. Have you had a chance to hear how loud it gets after a while at full power? I own the ML60Bi and ML30Bi and they're not loud but checking a review of the new ML60IIBi that person said that it was louder than the original.
Just got me a 28-70 this week. I’m super excited. Have heard nothing but amazing things. Yes it is heavy, yes it’s expensive… but both of those things make me feel like i have QUALITY… it’s robust and hefty in all the right ways . Especially compared to my EF 24-70 2.8 L that now just feels CHEAP in comparison. 🫨🔥
@@ThePhotographerGuy There are something strange here... this light rating ~120 watt power. (20 Volt - 6 Ah) 2 NPF battery province 14.8 volt. So if it can run at 100%, it more efficient than anything at this power. 14.8 volt V-Mouth are 1/2 price 26 volt. Almos light 100-150w run by 26 volt .Sometime battery are pricy than a light.
@@ThePhotographerGuy the ML60IIBi does come with the N-PF option, and there's a kit with both, but the 100W only has the V-mount, I just checked B&H and either one is $39.
They actally don't have branding. I woud go with the one in the link in the description. the new small rig one's look great. For V-Mount, I have neewer.
Thanks for the review dude! This really answered a lot of my questions. I've been looking for a review of this light since it came out, and I couldn't find any. Looking to use it in a documentary setting. How is the shadow quality with the reflector that came with the light? It feels like the element inside the reflector might diffuse the harshness.
I pre ordered the 36 degree one. The 15 is a bit spotty. Hit me up on IG and i can send you a sample. I also have and love their small softbox. bhpho.to/3WfNQWZ
Do I understand correctly that you use constant light instead of flashes? I don't shoot weddings, but for some of the types of reportage photography I do, this looks like a very interesting, less disturbing approach.
Hi Ely ! Have you got the chance to try the Sigma 20mm F1.4 with GFX cameras ? Your vids are my reference for Sigma lenses adapted to GFX, love your philosophy and approach. Take good care, Colin
hey Colin, I did use the 20mm for two years on my nikon D750 and it did struggle to keep up with full frame, so I skipped testing it for that reason. The best i have found from testing at camera stores was the Sigma 28mm. It did a pretty decent job at a 2x3 crop.
@@ThePhotographerGuy , that was my concerns about it... Thanks a lot for your great feedback, really appreciated, Ely ! Maybe I'll end up buying the GF20-35mm... ha ha ha Take very good care. Colin
