Nice review from a person who knows how to listen to good music. If you buy a $1500 earphones then you know how to acknowledge good gear . I just bought this Mega and will arrive soon and hoping for the best, since I'm also sort of a poor audiophile , which is picky when it comes to audio.
i though it was a dual DD of same 10mm size in isobaric , and it was the dunu davinci that 2 DD of different sizes, one for sub bass and one for subbass
I was disappointed picking these up. They are the worst sounding headphones in their pricerange that I've owned. I don't understand how people can just praise their sound. They lose so much detail in the sound and the bass is just about alright but bordering onto boomy. They sound tired without layers or dept in the sound. Now ofcourse, maybe they will become fantastic once you mod them or whatever but I'm not going to do that because I haven't done that to any of my previous headphones. Personally I feel like they belong in the 20 bucks price bracket. And mine are going to be used as cheap travel headphones, and I guess that they will atleast do that alright.
Are you sure you have an original pair and not a rip-off? There are many fakes floating around. In my case I can say that I use my Porta Pro's almost everywhere. Listening to music, watching movies (wow), as a DJ in the club and whatelse... Have many (more expensive) headphones but I still prefer the Koss hands down.
@@mshaftenberg Yes, I buy from reputable store in Sweden. Why do you even mention DJ? Is that your benchmark for great sound or what? If you were to compare Koss Porta Pro to skull candy, you'd for sure have an argument there.
Chinese companies can build good stuff at these prices, due to government subsidies. It's a good thing for the consumer, might anger the US, who can't build a garden hose without charging $100 for it, but it is what it is.
Well thing about value is it is not so straight forward. At 1000€ they needed to be on par with Xelento. As far as I am concern, I do not buy chinese made hi-fi gear unless there is no other option. It is stupid and retarded to buy chinese gear if you got alternative. This is not price, this is supporting a foreign power that launched a biological strike to crush world's economy, and I don't care what shiny toy they are offering for my money, if there are alternatives, I won't take it.
From a 'western manufacturer', as if it were somehow just better for that reason, spend 200 on Chinese earphones, you also get amazing stuff, like what's the arrogance about? And don't be surprised if the bulk of the manufacturing of 'western products' takes place in China, as a matter of fact, it does.
I'm looking into a second hand set of campfire audio Dorado 2020 but they arent too far off the price of these dunu sa6mk2. Mostly listen to electronic music with detailed and prominent bass required. I tend to go towards a V shaped as I feel it compliments electronic music well. How would you compare the two?? Would love some feedback 😀
It's not actually as random as all that, if you look at it, there are trends driven by feedback, they just don't happen all at once. They accumulate, and Boom! A great headphone, then a whole trail of shit again, building up to another Boom!
I had no idea kz had a wireless offering. Thought they only had the option to get the bluetooth attachment. In a tough spot i had some tws soundcores that sounded good but had some defects after use but used them a long time. Galaxy buds pro 2 killed my ears after them so exhanged for the jabra 10 elite. Never lost an earbud in my life but lost one recently at a kid park. Smh. I loved those buds sound but they are expensive even on sale and i already lost one. This may be my next pair. I have the kz zs10 pro x and i love them for when im wired.
Too peaky treble imo👎.. There's a lot of music in my library I can't stand to listen to with these. Everytime a new IEM comes out its ruined with cutting board treble 😔👎
It's wood, 200 year old maple stabilised wood (immersed in resin at high pressure), pretty hard to make a ridge to keep the tips on as it's 5 axis cnc made, would have a lot of breakage and need to retool just for the ridge
Is this similar to what the Audioquest Nighthawks were made of? They called it liquid wood which I found hilarious but it sounded like an interesting process and the material looked nice.
I got these yesterday and I can honestly say you need to have good tips with these. The bass is there the details are there it's just hard to say to how much of what is there you need good eartips for these to get the best sound.
Since the eartips from Monarch 3 really don't reach the level of IEMs and don’t suit me, I had to look for other options. I tried Azla and Render, but unfortunately they didn’t work for me. Someone on the Internet said that Render are best suited for Monarch 3, but not in my case either. Finally, I decided to try eartips from Final Audio, since I have B3 IEMs. They fit me best, and most importantly, the Monarch 3 fit one size larger, since they do not penetrate into the ear canal (for me) as deeply as on the B3. It seems there is no point in saying that certain earthips are best suited to certain IEMs. If the IEMs are of a high level, but do not sound as they should, we simply need to look for the right eartips for us personally (and, what is very important, also try different sizes, even if the fit on all other IEMs was always the same)... I can say about the cable that it is simply ideal and undoubtedly of very good quality. The fact that it is simply twisted and not braided is, in my opinion, a plus, since it is not as rigid as, for example, Hulk. And the color is also correct, black is too gloomy, white is too flashy, and gray matches both the stock version of Monarchs and most Audio Players, which are usually gray. For example with my Astell&Kern. On the other hand, the engineers and designers at Thieaudio undoubtedly love and know their job and will not attach a crap cable to their top-end creation; you just have to be an idiot to do something like that. Changing the cable from the Monarch 3 kit is just a whim and a waste of money. But this is just my opinion and it may be wrong. Otherwise, I really liked the review.
Im looking for a dap that can drive headphones like hd800s, hifiman planar and other over headphones, do you think this dap have the power to drive them? Or maybe fiio m23 or m6 ultra? Thanks a lot
I just got Mk2 Version of the Ze8000 .its insanely good sounding.. app is okay. 8k+ sound makes difference in some tracks certainly and some not.. Mk2 is fixed many issues and improved seal of eartip that called shield fin. very secure fitting and sealing. volume level is okay loud enough. soundstage of this bud is very similar wired IEM
11:19 cheapper is an understatement. Solaris is very nierly 2 times the price. we are talking 900 euros vs 1800. If Dorado get a small sale you got 2 times the price. The downside is the brand. I got Polaris 2 that were 500 Euros, and they are a mess. 8k need 3-5 db cut (and that is a lot) and low end is a lot and not good. not detailed, no controll what so ever, just bum bum. Sure you can EQ but that is called fixing and I dam not talking about fixing it because now I am locked to use specific devices or specific phones... for 500 Euros IEM, so I can't trust Campfire to make IEM. I mean if you listent to that shit and said "that is good for 500Euros" I can't trust them with 1600 Euros
No campfire stuff is good gor the price when you consider the chifi stuff. Thieaudio dumps on them at every price point. The price is understandable though as they have US staff and elements of production and much more including overheads in the US etc.
@@AudioLevels I made a point to not touch chifi. We all want hi-fi gear, nobody needs hi-fi gear, and I see no reason to buy from china. If no similar product exist, then yes but when alternatives exist.... 2nd After the shit-show of Polaris 2 I don't trust campfire anymore. I mena they manage to fuck up a 500 Euros IEM, there is no way I risk 1750 Euros on a new IEM from them.
I am impressed with your review! I bought the hype2 and was massively disappointed... Most of my artists sounded not natural at all ... Like other persons... Bass and sub bass are not present on most of my library... EDM is fantastic.... I just had the impression that mine were faulty....
Hay @AudioLevels , been a big fan for a few years now, find you incredibly accurate with your analysis as we have similar tastes. I am just about to pick up a pair of these...question is, would you recommend any other within the 900 - 1300 price range? I am looking at the BGVP Phantom as well, have you experienced these? Will genuinely take your suggestion. Thanks in advance.
Im rocking the s12 pro with the qudelix 5k and a tripowin zonie balanced cable. I use the preset eq by oratory1990 with a heavy bass boost. I thought they were harsh at first and acked in subbass but after i eq'd through the qudelix app and added spinfit tips they are full bodied and clear as can be.
