would you please explain again what Knights you have been you for your Model? Are they still beeing sold? The Throne is out of Print. The Zenethal prime looks great. I will use Xpress colors to get a quick paint job
I used mostly nighthaunt models. There is a dual kit of black knights/hexwraiths on horses, and the rider at the front is a dreadblade harrow. I think I also stuck on some myrmourn banshees, and glavewraith stalkers. A bunch of these models were released for cheap with magazines from Hachette Partworks, but I’m not sure if they are still available.
The final bases look pretty amazing, the only thing I would recomend, it to put try integrating more the models "feet" on them, maybe doing the a bit mroe of the base texture and adding on the feet/hoofs when attaching the models so they look more like actually walking on the bases, if this makes sense.
That’s actually not how… … I’ve seen anyone use those paints! And that’s why I’m subscribing now. I love fearless artists, who explore their given media without limiting preconceptions.
Acrylic is actually chemical based unless you have a water base acrylic, they call it acrylic because it's used as a binder not a base. It's annoying but important if you're putting acrylic over oil bases. Oil bases are also more durable but not on flexible surfaces. I know, I'm annoying...
👍👍 you've done a lovely job there, awesome interpretation and great colour and contrast! I'm 100% sure those are some old GW Genestealer arms as I have some on my table right now 😁 I also have a 1999 GW base here, with my old Ripper Swarms 😊 (probably the same as my Warrior Brood too, wherever they've gotten to 😅). I wonder if this was part of a Tyranid army, maybe intended as a winged Warrior or Hive Tyrant? A very cool piece to see and lovely to see you look after it 👍! Commiserations on being too powerful for the competition, better luck next time 👍😁
So happy to see you got in on this one! Also regarding lead, I ended up looking it up when doing this challenge. As long as you don't eat it or ingest it, lead isn't that dangerous (the problem is little kids toys made of them and little kids tend to chew everything)
The cape is great. The basing is great. The gold is sh*t. Sorry, no offense meant but the leaf just looks bad. It doesnt stick right you have flecks falling off places like the iron halo etc.. it kinda looks like an amateur used an unthinned basecoat over too much retributor arnor primer spray and tried moving the paint before it dried leaving tears etc.. Really cool idea to try though! You never know how good something will look until a daring artist tries it first so kudos for that!
Picked up some of these recently and they're absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend a citadel Retributor Armour base, a brown wash, then a Darkstar Royal Gold drybrush. This makes for an incredible shiny and defined gold. I typically paint over a white (wraithbone) primer. Some highlights in the range are Royal Gold, Copper, and Silver.
the liquitex inks looked abosolutely perfect for tyranids...! which is great because i have the inks and an unpainted nid army.. hmm. do you remember which medium you used with the ink?
Just wanted to say I've been coming back to his video about once a week for the past year. In my mind it's the easiest to view color sample of the range on youtube. Thanks!
Bill does has a series in the manual for his game where it talks about the different types of robots. One of which is... meaty. Cyborgs, but mostly made out of grown parts. Probably right up your ally, really. But it does mean that any robot, even meaty ones are welcome! Excellent build!
