How to Paint a GOLD LEAF Space Marine in 30 Minutes 😱 

I've been wondering about adding gold leaf to a model for ages so I'm glad to see this tutorial and it turned out really well.

That’s such a cool idea. Can the gold leaf be painted on or not? I imagine if would need a top coat or if would come off, right? Chrome marines would be amazing too. From what I’ve seen best results are that super reflective chrome paint through an airbrush over a gloss basecoat.

This is such a creative idea that I never would have considered before. I liked how it turned out. If you were to add highlights to this, would you add a layer of varnish to help protect the gold leaf? I’m not sure how fragile the gold leaf is after it’s applied.

The cape is great. The basing is great. The gold is sh*t. Sorry, no offense meant but the leaf just looks bad. It doesnt stick right you have flecks falling off places like the iron halo etc.. it kinda looks like an amateur used an unthinned basecoat over too much retributor arnor primer spray and tried moving the paint before it dried leaving tears etc.. Really cool idea to try though! You never know how good something will look until a daring artist tries it first so kudos for that!
