I think Americans only had so much room or money to send souvenirs back home? Shipping must have been expensive or they would have took the whole uniform or they hated them so much they didn’t want any memories of the war when they went home?
The soldiers should still be able to bring trophies back from wars! But it’s illegal now? I don’t know why? I hope insignias from the WAGNER GROUP will become colectables? They almost took over Russia 🇷🇺!!!!! Progrosian almost had control of Russia! I have bought a few things from the first part of the Ukrainian war! Hopefully it will be worth a lot of money like the SS memorabilia?
People collect these things to remember what happened and not forget! It’s history and good or bad, people see things in a different light! A lot of people like to sell and people like to buy!
Its great how they point out that museums started with just a private collection. Im from and live in Texas and our most known site is the Alamo. Most of the artifacts at the site was collected and donated by Phil Collins. Ir was amazing to me that a brit has such a love and respect for that part of history that he did all of the things he has done to display such an important and pivotal moment in our state’s identity.
