Welcome to the Value Vintage Cards channel. My wish is to share the hobby with those that collect in a similar manner and enjoy the amazing community on RU-vid. I believe unique vintage cards are the most interesting and exciting form of collectables. Please feel free to comment and share your expertise with the community.
At this point I'm starting to wonder what high-end Hall of Famer Aaron DOESN'T collect haha... I'd be curious of the overall value of it all. Even if everything was a 1, would have to be a huge number. The safe haven of vintage... Like the gold and silver of cards. The stunners keep coming!
@blixcards yeah, I'm not sure about the current value. Definitely have a lot of guys I collect with some diligence. I find myself drawn to the less appreciated superstar players. Plus, collecting Ruth and Mantle kills the budget fast.
@@Valuevintagecards-Aaron I'll bet haha! I feel like these guys are all top-tier though and it's always fun to see who you highlight next. I guess my take is the "Value" in your title is high! Always a blast to see, and I also think it's great the bigger items don't scare you off. My thing is I just feel like they all need to be displayed, which isn't usually ideal unless you are a design genius like Dylan. Looking forward to the next player already, my friend!
Great Sisler cards , i really enjoy player collecting and all the different backs and variants. Your Sisler collection reminds me of my PC of Joe Wood. Thanks for sharing Aaron.
What an excellent collection. If this segment is any clue into the whole thing, its truly a masterpiece. Love all the variations - super impressive collecting!
@BaseballCollector that is fair. As the process evolves with collecting, I am realizing it is endless in finding new items, so I am moving on from most duplicates now. Thank you so much for watching, my friend!
@@MrJmangini I am missing the W575 cards so far. They are definitely on my list. An excellent one just got away on Ebay while I was negotiating for the purchase.
@@davebolaton7639 you are so right! That horizontal image is used a couple of times for various E cards, I believe. It is one of the best for sure. The Cracker Jack is a nice goal card as well 😀
@@marcuscardacus4994 I agree completely! It is great to research and find they were good family people, charitable, or served their country. Strong character makes the story of the player that much richer. Thanks for sharing!
@thinkblue7718 thank you, my friend. The Post card was new to me as well. It looks like there are only 30 something graded between the big 2 so fairly rare.
I recently traded some modern autographs ( Griffey and Cabrera) along with memorabilia cards and Ichiro and Pujols rookie cards. (approx. $500 trade value) for an SGC 3 Jackie Robinson 1955.
@danielbernier6095 nice! I am not much for modern cards, so I don't know those values too well. I do know a 55 Jackie is amazing! That sounds like a solid win to me for sure.
Hmm, bigger base card...landing the awesome 3 way multi player rc of Vance Law/Tony Pena/Pascual Perez that you passed on and should've picked up at the card shop with me?
I haven't really traded or sold cards in the past but I am thinking I will moving forward. Some great looking cards going out, can't wait to see what comes back!
@vintageonvintage817 I have honestly been shocked at how much I have enjoyed it. Digging into a few that I hadn't intended to, but for a solid return. Hopefully, the return will be here by end of week! Would you target a big card or other goals?
@CraigsCards62 yeah, it always hurts to give up a great card. I am stoked for the pickups. Just added two more coming in and working on a third. Really a new process to figure out, but it's a lot of fun.
@vintageoddballcards6103 if that is an offer, I am in! It's a couple of nice ones, but nothing too exotic. Two solid base cards and another lower tier regional issue. Can't wait to have them in hand though! Thanks for watching, my friend!
Those are some big cards you are trading! Both you and Joe are moving cards and shifting gears, that’s so cool. I personally struggle with trading once I have it. The nice thing is most are duplicates and that is something I would consider.
@EverydayCardCollector-Jason yeah, as much as I hate to move anything, it brings in new stuff without having to spend the bucks. Not a whole lot left to trade that's "big," so my trading phase will be wrapping up soon. I will probably take some lower buck stuff to Strongsville next year, too.
Can’t wait to see the rare Sisler you’re about to get 🤣. I don’t trade often but I like to. Made a big deal (for me) at the national which was awesome. I don’t have doubles but I’ve been refocusing my collection over the last couple years by selling things and also making trades. Fun stuff
@MarksDodgersCards ah, I wish it was a Sisler. It's actually two more mainstream cards that I once had, but had to move along the way. Excited to have a couple new items in the collection at any rate. But dang, I wish it was a Sisler!
@alans_cards I know a lot of folks make it into a nice concise video, but I am a zero edit kind of guy 😂. I just find the process to be interesting. Have you ever done a big trade via mail?
Yes! I love that piece. I feel so much better knowing I lost it to a great person. I literally was in on that auction and lost out by $10. Sad then but happy now! Enjoy the heck out of it. Congrats.
Love the premium cards. Their big photographs are so much better than the little Goudey sketches. And they are more affordable. I think they’re great and I’m in acquisition mode!
Like #3! Great Lefty Grove items! I know nothing about these personally, but I am sure one of the experts will help you if they can. Really enjoyed the video 👍👍until next time, have a great day ✌out
You’re not going to find much info on that set. They are a bit of a mystery. It’s interesting that they are the same images as the 1929 Kashin. It is unusual to have cards that large as cut outs. I always wondered if they might have been cut off of some sort of box. A really great scarce set. I have several and would work on the set but many years ago I sold my Ruth not knowing how rare it was. It’s my biggest regret.
@MrJmangini thank you for the feedback. I figured if anyone would know, it would be our community experts. Seems like it is scarce so maybe the stamp version really is a fairly unique item. It's definitely a really neat set. Maybe one day that Ruth will pop up again, although it will probably be the one you had!
I've literally wanted to own a 1933 Goudey Mel Ott since reading a book about him in 4th grade at my school library. Still my favorite Goudey card hands down. Sweet Venny! It would look amazing in a tux. Just picked up a Jim Palmer Venezuelan RC a while back. What an amazing collection, the game-used are great as well. I always wondered why his autos were so scarce, he died at 49! I was totally unaware of that, what a shame. Great cards, Aaron!
@blixcards I literally like all of his cards. Those early 30s and then Playball era are all really cool cards. The Goudeys are really nice looking for sure! I might do a Tux in the future, but for now PC and I don't mind waiting to drop the extra coin. Always appreciate your comments!
@@Valuevintagecards-Aaron I totally get that man. Thanks for showing these off, I've never seen several of them. Ott was my guy until I discovered WGN, Bozo and Ryne Sandberg.
@blixcards I think we lived the same life, my friend! Bozo before school and played second base in little league in 1987, living in Northwest Indiana, Sandberg was my guy! 1987 was when I started to discover vintage and card shops, too.
@@Valuevintagecards-Aaron Hahaha! Those were the days... There were so many shops in the Metro Detroit area growing up, we saw insane things we didn't even realize were so rare until adulthood. The Grand Prize Game! Always a pleasure, Aaron!
Nice trade fellas, very cool to have friends to trade with especially in person. It was nice to hear how everything just fell into place so easily. Looks like Joe's going to fit right in around here!
Welcome Joe, great cards you have there. How much were the Bob Gibson RC and 1947 Duke Snider? Also, what is the material in the Babe Ruth game-used? Much appreciated!
@blixcards Joe does have an amazing collection. He just arrived at the National today so I will message him and make sure he sees your message. Feel free to send him an email as well. Thanks for the comment, my friend!
@@Valuevintagecards-Aaron I truly can only ask out of curiosity because I wouldn't have the funds available outside of COMC until late August at the earliest. So please don't bother him with that, /i was picturing you two still hanging out over there. Thank you Aaron!
Hi, thank you! Sorry about that, I realized after I failed to mention a few prices. Asking 650 on the 59 Gibson and 875 on the 47 Snider. I am not sure on the Ruth relic card as it fails to explain exactly.
@@OC-MC_Joe Awesome, thanks Joe! That's one of the reasons I was asking. I can't buy anything card related until late August (outside of COMC anyway) but wouldn't mind a shot at the Gibson if it's still around near September. I'm looking for a really sharp copy without a crease so the o/c doesn't bother me at all on bigger star RCs. Honestly though I think somebody like Billy Ballgame, Chris or one of the of the Missouri guys will be all over that when they see it after The National. Those cards you shared won't last long around here with the fair pricing. May be a 4 Collectors trade night again in August as well, they would have a huge, warm reception there. I tried looking in Beckett's Almanac and some other places but can't find info on the ruth swatch either. Still does say "game used" on the card front though. It would be insane if that was a hat relic, wow.. Couldn't be a Mitchell & Ness tag but maybe from whoever the company was making Yankees jerseys back then? Might be something really unique, actually. Thanks again, Joe!
