To say this procedure is painless is an outright lie. I just went through this and it was one of the most painful surgeries I've even experienced. It felt like the doctor was welding a manhole cover to the back of my eye. I appreciate your video, but I'd appreciate your honesty more.
Exactly thats what i felt toooo...as if the doc was scooping my eye out from the back....i was so tensed as it was my first time going through this and doc was so rude and arrogant too...worst experience, he didn't even informed me that he was starting the procedure,he even told that i wasn't going to experience any pain...and i ended up being in total crisis.. and he also never talked about an after care....
@@sruthipriyass4951 oh my God. Exactly. I think we have the same doctor. Hope your eyes are doing okay. I have to go back to mine for follow up. I guess shitty vision is better than no vision. Take care.
@@ianhillman4007 actually my eyes aren't doing well ,ever since that I'm seeing a lot of flashes ,white light streams that shimmers for a while and then go away... And i too have a follow up ,its on Monday...might ask the doc whats behind all this torture!😆Nd yes no vision is better than shitty one!and how's your eyes, what did the doc say?
@@sruthipriyass4951 good to hear from you. My appointment with the doctor is next Thursday. I'm praying for good news. My vision is still blurry and I see the odd flash of light from time to time as well. My friends ask me what my vision is like. I tell them it is like looking thru a Jackson Pollock painting. 🤣🤣 I've heard it can take months for our vision to improve, if it ever does. Let's just hope for the best. Take care of yourself. 🙏
I just had laser surgery this morning to repair a tear in my retina and to repair the peripheral portions of the retina. I have a high tolerance for pain and this was one of the most painful things I ever experienced. Trying to look in a certain position with a very bright light and searing laser was horrific. Next week I have a pre-op for cataract surgery and now I'm scared to death.
I have a lazy eye....the only things stopping me from getting it is not having health insurance....I have vision insurance though...but pretty sure I need health insurance....and I don't wanna take off work...I work at a convenient store...so I need to work and need my eyes.
I learned that F. Angiography works to show great pictures of the eye...but laser procedures to "little if anything" to stop the capillary growth. Maybe if doctors focused more on nutritional needs; agonists and antagonistic foods....but they don't know anything...just anatomy and physiology,...to an extent. Cut the "massive sugar eating"/carbohydrates...massively curtail eye pathologies. Learn more about a Keto Friendly diet...and cutting carbs. Sugar is a toxic substance to our whole body. One doesn't need to be a Shaolin Priest in easting...but one Can NOT hope for good prolonger health...eating "fast foods and processed garbage". There are many MD's now....believe it or not who are recognizing the Keto/Carnivore way to health. Instead of getting "lasered, with minimal help"....try to stay healthy or reverse insulin resistance by working with your diet. Cheers.
@@bobty8988 i was also very scared before the treatment but trust me it hardly took 2 mins for the doctor to flash the lasers and seal it. yes , while the flashing of lasers you may feel a bit uncomfortable but it's not that much uncomfortable. Go for your surgery bro👍 and share your response 😊 hope so it goes good
I’ve had this condition as long as I can remember and I am 63 my eye doctor told me this would not work for me but I started going The Illinois eye Institute and the doctors told me there did the surgery would work for me but now I have other medical issues that have prevent me from having the surgery twice I love to read this is the only reason that I want to try this again
I had this surgery 8 days ago and the first day it hurted so much since they had to do it on both of my eyes to line them both up since if they did it on one eye the other eye would’ve been crossed it was so painful and really irritating but I feel so much better now and I’m happy that I did it before so I don’t have to experience that pain again!

Why don’t you tell people about the nightmare that occurs when the Dr is careless and lasers into the field of vision without warning the patient. I have white flicking lights in each area treated that falls in my field of vision and to say it is debilitating is a vast understatement. Most retinal specialist are just in it for the money and perform unnecessary procedures in borderline cases. Once the damage is done the nightmare lasts a lifetime. Be careful when a retinal specialist tries to sell you on a procedure. Get several opinions and don’t trust these “doctors”.
I'm sorry that happened to you. That is one of my fears. I have holes in both eyes and my doctor recommends laser surgery to be on the safe side. I am concerned if I should get it or not, and wonder if my doctor might be saying it cause she gets money from the surgery. I want to get other doctors opinions as well.
@@Xy1on have you joined my Facebook page - there are resources there that are published by the American retinal and ophthalmology society that specifically say not yo treat asymptotic tears/do not trust any retinal specialist
@@claytonmalanowich5970 I just requested to join. Thank you so much for the reply and for all that you're doing for this cause. I subbed and watched your video on your experience. I hope to continue this conversation on Facebook.
I am a 60 years old I had this surgery one week ago in both eyes I was suffering from what is called (wall eye ) specially my right eye they are still red sore painful my advise before anyone decided to do it ask your doctor do some research on why and what's going to be done , and the most important taking care of your eyes after surgery wishing best of luck to anyone going for it..👍 bye
I just got this surgery yesterday and it was painless under anesthesia. My vision is crisp and clear now. No more double vision! It feels great to have my vision back! Highly recommend anyone suffering from strabismus to speak to their eye doctor about the possibility of surgery.
I’m so scared. I’m having surgery next Wednesday and I am so freaking scared. I’m only 11 so I don’t know how to feel about it. I’ve had surgery with like my teeth and stuff, but I don’t know how to feel about this because I watched this video which is making me more and more scared. Share your experience.
@@Dallanaisawsomesauce Don't let the video scare you. In fact dont even think too much into the procedure itself. Leave it up to the surgeon! Im assuming they will put you to sleep throughout the procedure which will make it painless. Just trust in the procedure and i wish you a good outcome! Better vision awaits you!
I thought the laser was going to put a hole in the replacement lens and so I didn't want to have to wear bottle cap glasses after yag capsulotomy, but your video explained exactly what is done with good illustrations. Thank you.
If you are reading this and worried to go to the doctors /hospital it really is not that bad. I am 35 and have suffered with this condition for 20 years. I started by getting a referral to the hospital in October from my optician. I visited the royal berks in reading (uk) for 3 separate appointments.. Today i had my final eye measurements taken, blood pressure, bmi and blood sample which was quick and painless. My operation is booked in for 10 days time at the royal berkshire. I decided to get surgery because it was effecting my confidence. Don't be worried what hospital staff will think of your condition they are lovely people.
@@sabamaryum1200 So I had my operation on the 5th of march. The op went really well and the surgeon was pleased with results. One thing I was not prepared for was how confused I felt for a couple of days after the op. The eye was very red and felt scratchy for a good three weeks. The eye's were lined up perfectly for the first two weeks but has drifted slightly out again but it's much better than it was before and I am happy with it. My consultants name was martin leyland I would recommend him to anyone.
I'm getting a strabismus surgery in January...I still didn't want h the video....and I'm not sure if I should....but I'mma watch it.. I watched it.....and bly oh boy am I scared...
