You guys bring back childhood memories in my mind when I see this video! My dad had a similar car like this one but with red interior and 1979 model 👍🏼👍🏼
I fondly remember that my neighbor built one of these in the '70's. His was a gorgeous gold color with sparkle flakes in the paint job that had a prismatic effect in the direct sunlight, making rainbows of color amongst the gold. I was just a kid at the time so I did NOT realize that it was only powered by a VW Bug motor. I thought that it was a racecar! 😅
@@apatheticempathy it seemed to run fine. A lot of people didn’t consider it has side pipes and your only going to hear 4 out of 8 cylinders unless your standing right in front or behind it.
I owned a ‘76 Aspen SE 4 door with a 318 V8 - it looked good with the chrome styled road wheels with trim rings - my grandfather bought it for me brand new - power windows and locks were optional but mine had crank windows and manual locks and no rear window defroster - mine had an electric clock - chronometers were not available on Aspen/Volare until later - fender mounted turn signals also
one of these was my very first car... if you want to REALLY wake it up do the KIT CAR MAGAZINE reverse rotation corvair swap. i did and OMG. huuuuge difference
Usually Chrysler products were bad, especially in the seventies. Apparently there were some good ones according to all these RU-vid videos with Chrysler cars in them 😮.
Sheeeiit..!! Boonton.! Damn.!!! I did my Mopar thing all through there in the 70's and 80's... !! 90's too.! Moved to Colorado and recollect old times there.. Corigliano's across the street I used to get parts for my Chargers ... When stuff was cheap and available . Damn.. !! I love watching where you go.... Came across your channel strictly by accident watching you delivery of 66 Toronado..!! So cool to see you "kind of" doing things my buddy and I did back then when the cars were still decent...
I had a '78 like this in a medium blue with a blue vinyl interior. I loved that wagon! It held our family of 6 with car seats and boosters. Equipped with a bullet proof 318 V8 coupled with a Torqueflite tranny. Rode good, very peppy, great in the snow. I would probably still be driving it today had it not been totaled while parked in Philadelphia
I had a 75 Sport Fury. Silver with a burgundy vinyl top. It was a good running car. Smooth and comfortable. It was no race car with the 318 two barrell, but it ran ok for what it was. It was basically the same car as a Dodge Charger or Chrysler Cordoba.
My first car was a brown 4 door '75 Fury Custom. 318. Nothing fancy but it got me around. I owned mine in '89-'90, haven't seen one since. Maybe 2 two door versions, that's about it.
Had a 69 Newport 2 dr 5:06 bought in 1980 for $100. Put limitred slip dif in it and used it as a winter car so the Scirocco would get no salt Painted black just like this one. 6 people could go skiing with even DH racing skis in the trunk. Spedo could be buried easily. Sure liked gas though
