I like the curved pieces! They help to add smoothness and elegance to sets where it would be appropriate to make something look smoother, sleeker and/or more realistic or futuristic.
I like to believe that the speeders were white when they were brand new but got grayer with time, just like the millenium falcon was white in Solo but is grey in ANH. I always liked how most tech in star wars looks so used and old, it's great worldbuilding.

5:27 because of how lego bricks connect. You see, the older part give you unlimited 360 spin while the 2x2 jumper plate would separate the brick above it after few degrees of motion. You would have to apply constant pressure downwards to negate this, while the ''spinning table'' doesn't need that. Having both the Hydro Reef Wrecker and Aqua Dozer as a kid, I agree with all of your points in this video. I totally agree about the stickers point as well, all of the parts should have been printed and not stickered when it comes to a set that so clearly would meet a pool or bathtub at some point in it's life. My Aqua Dozer definitely saw some aqua in the past, and today all the stickers are long gone. Oh, and the pilot's name is Rocky btw

In before Slugger gets a bunch of Alien Conquest sets and figures. Long story short, the astronauts aren't much to write home about, but the Aliens are decent. Magenta is neat and not overbearing. Definitely cool on the Alien Commander and the Alien Android.
Great memories of those UFO, Insectoid, and Ice Planet figures! Nice to see Aquazone get some love too. All of these astronauts just want to return to Earth- "Earth, we are hungry and tired and cold, Earth we're going home!"

That's the problem. Everyone should control the fomo for a few years and the greedy man will go cheaper if he wants to make any money. Chief isn't the only sought after character in Lego. Among several I absolutely refuse to pay asking price. I get rarity and all that but there's a line needs drawn and that where mine is. Example The rebels version of Ashoka. It's no where near as good as the newest version of the character with inaccuracies. If I want any of those characters I'll go with customs.
The 2024 Space color coding really appeals to me as a bridge between the vaguely realistic City: Space minifigures and the Classic Spacemen and their color-coded uniforms. They have the basic operators of each specialization in the standard color, and "officers" or specialists in the darker shade. I wonder if Frenzy from SP3 is a 2nd-gen Mars alien redux. Many of the SP3 villains incorporate references to older themes (Rench's Blacktron torso is an excellent fusion between the BT1 and BT2 styles). The updated Blacktron minifigure with back printing elevates the already amazing design. Roboforce just looks janky to me.
I caught myself doing the face on the dude in the "Distracted Boyfriend" meme when I saw the color swapped Blacktron 2 builds. Really spectacular! I had ideas about pallet swapping other themes to blacktron, like one of my favorite sets; 2161 aqua dozer. Was looking on bricklink and theres supposedly a prototype trans-red 2598... if it's even real
I dont buy sealed sets, however I do something sort of in the same ballpark; I always try to buy second-hand Bionicle sets with their canister included if I can find them at a decent price because i genuinely find the canisters fun to collect

1:17 I'm certain those elements were called pips. But if I recall correctly a "pip" is actually the mark where the piece breaks from the mold (I think it's now referred to as an "injection mark").
This sounds odd, but even children’s shows NEED to be appealing to adults. They’re the ones making them, and more often than not the parents will be subjected to whatever you make. Bluey is a modern example, but even something as simple and classic as the OG Hannah Barbara Scooby Doo show had this on lock. I’m a massive AFOL, and a massive fan of animation. Honestly kinda sad.
Played Rock Raiders back in the day and revisited it and Lego Island back in 2020 while unemployed. Why am I just finding out about this because THIS IS FRIGGIN' AWESOME.
