This is my favorite ride in Hollywood Studios, but when i rode it we were the 4th elevator and the ride broke down right as we got out and the door closed.Still a great ride even though its problematic at times
Yeah, trying to make all these different systems work in tandem has never seemed to be reliable and yet the keep making these rides fraught with issues.
Do any of the lights and special effects ever cause seizures? I had seizures when I was a baby. Does it have hills like other roller coasters? I can't do roller coasters because of the hills
I officially went in this ride today. This is by far the best coaster I’ve ever been on. The effects, the music and the amount of effort you can see that was put in on this ride blew my mind.
I was actually tripping over the fact that in the pre-show, kylo Ren and that commander dude had SHADOWS?!?! My mind was swirling just thinking “HOW TF A LIGHT SOURCE GOT A SHADOW??” Bouta watch this video to find out lol
I'm so glad I was able to experience it. I was terrified and had my eyes closed most of the time (I'd make a crappy navi) but the experience was worth the terror, feeling the Banshee breathe was amazing. I felt like I was actually riding a dragon
Shark needs a name... "Oy is your name not Bruce? That's going to cause a bit of confusion, do you mind if we call you Bruce just to keep things clear?"
Do you know how the cars time the rotation with the position on the track? I wonder if they are getting positional feedback from the track or if its simpler timing?
I'm not certain, but my guess would be it knows already when to rotate. The ride itself has pretty decent time consistency so a slight difference in when it starts rotating wouldn't make much of a difference. However, they are likely getting a feel for when and where based on perhaps data nodes or flags (RFID) along the course. Most likely a mix.
@@AmusementLabs after riding it I would think that slight deviations could cause major motion sickness and thought maybe there was a way to more precisely electrically cam the rotating motor to the position on the rails. I'm probably overcomplicating it though. Thanks!
When I was a kid, right around when Jurassic Park 3 was in theaters, the universal tram ride in Las Angeles had Bruce The Shark swim up to the tram and open his mouth and swim back under…. It was brief… but… it worked….
Riding this as a kid was one of the best experiences of my life. I did the green mission first, had a blast, and re-lived that first experience when I went on orange for the first time LOL. I think everyone with any interest in space needs to on this ride at least once in their life.
_THIS EXACT RIDE, RIGHT HERE, IS WHAT DECIDED MY LIFE'S CAREER BACK IN 2004!_ i kid you not- riding this exact ride during my senior year in high school, i knew, the very moment that i stepped out of the cockpit cabin, that i wanted to fly; i didn't want to be confined to the ground. twenty years later... im the first woman ever, in my squadron to earn her wings! even in all my formal speeches, i never fail to mention _"disney orlando's mission space ride, on orange."_ this ride absolutely changed the entire trajectory of my life. sounds totally crazy and unhinged, but its 110% reality!
From 2000 to 2004, I was in highschool and a member (cocaptain) of the cheerleading squad. Every year, we would go to National Competition that would take place at Disney, Orlando Florida. After the competition, we always had 3-4 days to roam the parks and do whatever. I made sure to ride this ride _every single year_ that I went. Oh, the nostalgia! I can't believe they did away with it, but times change and they have to keep up with new attractions, etc. ♡
