My CIOCKS also uses the Mickey Mouse IEC socket which I don't like. I dig the orange anodizing - I shop with my eyes.

For the touring musician it´s a great deal! For the bedroom musician I guess it´s overkill. The HB PowerPlant ISO-2 Pro should be more than sufficiant if you need to power 9 pedals at once. (except the PSU cable, but u get what u pay for..)

Nice power supply. I like it because I can fix it easily by screwing it under the pedal board. I don't like cable tys and velcro fasteners anymore.

Seems like a great unit, however I have the Cioks DC7 with the 8 expansion module is an amazing power supply. I honestly can't see myself using anything else, I used a MXR power brick for 20 years. When I bought the Cioks I was blown away how much floor noise was gone, my rig became much quieter. I would imagine much the same would happen with this power supply.

The 6 - 18 V outputs are not only interesting for fuzzes, but there are a lot of pedals out there with 18V for greater headroom. Some of these units with internal power have problems with DChumming - at least my two units (different manufactures) have - and they wheren´t cheap either...very bad in recording situations or if you like to work at very modest volume levels... Sadly you didnt check that out on your review...

Hi, thanks for this review. I couldn't find the info, so here I am trying to figure it out: it seems that this power supply has a wide range of mounting holes. Are these holes with screw threads , so I can fix it on a rackmount? Sorry to ask, but I couldn't find the into on the Palmer site.

Der USB Anschluss sieht schief aus. Das sollte akkurater sein. Bilder hängt man auch nicht schief an die Wand. - Aber sonst ein sehr gutes Produkt.

Hi Henning, nice fair video. I think that the main competitor is the MXR Iso brick. But interestingly, it is no longer available on Thomann Website at the moment. It looks like it is the best substitute, then.

Had the Iso Brick but prefer the Palmer. - But in general MXR makes some good stuff. Exp.for the bass players.

As far as I know the MXR iso brick is a dodgy product. Despite the name the outputs are supposedly not isolated individually. According to reddit lore it also has a habbit of deliverying too much voltage and frying pedals because the regulator goes bad. Never owned one myself though so I can't confirm either of that but double check before you get one.

@@veers0r hi thanks for your input. I have had 2 iso bricks. A standard and a mini. I have no issue to report for the last 8 years, but I may be a lucky guy😏. Having said that, the big negative for the brick is that the transformer is separated and proprietary. If you break or lose it, it is difficult to replace. The Palmer has a standard power cable and a transformer inside, this is an advantage.

Moin Henning :) Da ich gerade drauf und dran bin mir endlich mal ein vernünftiges Padelboard anzuschaffen, dafür aber nicht gleich ne ganze Monatsmiete ausgeben kann, wäre ein Video zum Harley Benton Spaceship Power 80 echt sehr nice :D Meinst du, du könntest mal eines von Thomann in die Finger bekommen um es auf Herz und Nieren zu testen? ;)
