why bring these cars to auction. im sure mr wellborn could have easily found a buyer to take the entire lot for one price, and not have to deal with the stress, or endanger the cars by moving them, and he could have saved money on fee`s, plus he could have named his own price for the lot.

im sorry, but it seems like the auctioneer is many times very axious to end the bidding too soon. to me that is losing bids and obviously losing money for the consignor and mecum.

My buddie back in high school bought this exact model for $300. The tires would melt and be splattered all over the quarterpanels. 440 six pack 3 speed auto. Dark Green on black w green Interior, vacuum control air scoop. Sadly once the engine was worn out it went to straight the scrapyard. At the time a car like that was just a gas hog and nobody thought there was anything special about it. The 68 69 chargers were the sought after ones.

Running from Galveston to Houston pegged on 150 my headlights quit working on my Superbird. Pulled off the freeway and the headlight bucket were aiming straight up. The wind pressure bent both stop bracket backwards. When I first bought the car I installed a 6 pack setup. Outrank the Texas DPS .

You are absolutely correct. The wing on my Superbird would put downforce on the car at about 145 mph. I sure miss opening it up on I 45 from Galveston Texas to Houston in the 70's.

Paying nine hundred thousand dollars gust for a car, instead they could give it to the poor. And to people who can hardly make it. It's shameful.

The announcers need to do a better job of fact checking before they speak. There were no 429 SCJ engines offered in the 69/70 Mustangs, that engine variant was available starting in 1971.

The announcer saying the motorcycle at 7:24 was a 1,652 cubic inch bike reminded me of a Harley I saw in the late 60s. Illinois had just started licensing bikes over 150 cc as motorcycles and bikes under 150cc as motor driven cycles. When filling out his registration a guy put 74 in the engine size box because he didn't notice it was asking for cc not cubic inches. He had a 1200 cc Harley with a motor driven cycle license plate.
