Fast accelerating wheels over 85mm that are also soft. Im not sure that is possible to be honest. Pretty good size contact patch as well and that will also add resistance. Very soft wheels that are also fast. Man you rated these a little too good but I understand you were excited for them so that can make all the difference. Oh and my parents already dont love me. So yeah, nice try.
Haha yeah it does kinda sound like a contradiction. But they are definitely fast, soft and way easier to push than they should be for their size. I’ll probably make a follow up or tier list video later this year with more hindsight on all the wheels I’ve tried. But this one is definitely top 3 favs so far. And ahhh boo, next time.
Thanks for the review 👍👍👍 Maybe you know the weight of the wheel ? I'm interested but I want to keep a light cruiser setup EDIT: I found out it's 3.5 pounds for 4wheels
Uhh not necessarily i think a wider profile makes it more stabile, but the narrower profile makes it more agile and maneuverable. Also it grips better and you’re less likely to kick your wheels
I just got Karmas and almost got Hokus this week😅😅. But I’ll probably get them later this summer. Heard amazing things though! From what I’ve seen they’re probably a lil faster and grippier than the Ingens but slightly less soft.
@@linpaul karmas are at least as fast as Boa 100s, but with more acceleration. Hokus then shold be even faster, so I have that road for this year "new fast wheel" 😁 Now also Ingens seem nice, but seems that you can only get them directly form US for now...
Nice pick! How you would compare them to Boas 100 and Dad bods? I tried my supersonic with both but still prefer it with 90mm wheels and no risers, like boa hatchlings (that also exhist in white 74a)
I haven’t actually had the chance to try either or those yet but they’re softer than both I believe and most likely faster than Dad bods. And very comparable to Boa 100s in speed from what I’ve been told. A lil softer and less reboundy, so you feel a lil more connected to the pavement.
Congrats man.....seriously good 👍 What wheels did you use..? Getting some serious time this weekend on my Supersonic at the beach....but nowhere near 175 miles 😂😂
@linpaul You'll get the 200-250 next year I'm sure....like you said change your plan on the break times and distances, learn from this year and you'll smash it. 175 miles is seriously impressive anyway..!!!! 👏 👌👌👏
Great video man! Congrats on your achievement and I feel in a similar way in for the shorter races I attended: both surviving (especially the first) and accepting challenges are really a thing that makes you feel both sarisfied and ready for the next one with even more energy!
Great video & motivation to take the challenge! LDP took me closer to running than pretty everything (and also the record set by Joe Mazzone) but still, never trained more than 2 or 3 times a week, indoors, in winter 😅
I used to run track and cross country in high school but my knees started to bother me so I ended up spending most of my time bicycling in college. Afterwards I continued cycling and I also did a bunch of other activities like hiking, rock climbing, swimming and kayaking to stay in shape. About 2 1/2 years ago I learned to skate. After discovering LDP I then participated in the last 2 Broadway bombs and 2 Miami Ultraskates where I finished over 100 miles. This July I'll be 62 years old. I think that all the cross training over the years has help me to not only stay fit but it has reduced my chance of injuries. I'm sure if you mix up your training a bit it will help you too. Lastly, I too need to remember to stretch more.
That’s awesome dude! You should def be proud! And yeah I mix it up quite a bit now, but I’ll definitely add some more in. Hope to see you at Broadway Bomb and Ultra this year!
Hey man, great Video. This one is really a big step in terms of production quality and presentation! The thumbnail is really good and I love the intro-Part! In the mid it drags on a little for my taste. The music is going for too long and is sometimes too loud, to the point where you could be heard better. Like from 04:00-11:00 could be shortened or maybe edited a little different, I cought myself losing attention. At 18:00 the standing camera with the headset mic works really good, its better than the phone mic before like in 11:19. Its easier to watch and just looks better :D You narration and story telling is pretty good, why not have more of it than the sometimes unclear phone footage! Hope this isn't too much :D But great Video, Looking for more!
I got these on a Sector 9 pintail, they def require a set of risers if you plan on doing any deep carves. Can't recall what size risers I have (1/2 inch I think) but you want to start there since these are some chonker wheels! Sticking with these until something can outshine them! Their color also holds up as well! After several sessions, they still look bright orange 👌
Yeah depending on the board shape you might need risers, I once fit them on an apex 37 without risers tho! And they are definitely a great ride! And yeah the color holds! I’ve had mine 2 years and they’re still bright, I just wash them occasionally!
@linpaul thanks....I was convinced by watching some of your videos actually, then spoke to my local dealer and also Jeff from Patheon who told me about the iminent release of the bamboo version so I've waited for this 👍👍👌😎
I have the same feeling about the 80mm Kegels, my first "big" wheels.. that made me safely go over road debries & saved me some times. Then got Caguamas too, more cushy but less faster accelerating, then Boas 90 and 100 & Seismics and others for races. But I guess we all have a special wheel set in out longboarding journey!
Very unexpected wheel review! I was hoping for super soft wheel, I recenlty got a fracture so I'm thinkg about making my setup more vibration- absorbing for when I can ride again... but still, stayed for the story and the training perspective!
Most brands make some good cruiser boards. On a budget tho, check out Landyachtz, Arbor, Sector 9, or Rayne. Stay away from Walmart, Target, and B Amazon boards.
Caguamas 80A are my choice for my Pantheon Supersonic. They work great for pumping. I had Karmas previously and they are great wheels but I prefer Caguamas specifically for pumping. If you are into pushing I think Karmas are great but I found them too slippery when making sharper turns. Orange Caguamas are very grippy!
time to get into some eboarding 🤘🏼🤘🏼💯💯😝😝😝 97s are my second favorite tradition thane wheels for eboarding. there normal wheels have even more grip than the glow and translucent wheels in my opinion. try out there solid colors. i got some too if u wanna try em out
Gday Man... I brought the Boa's and the Caguamas based on your previous videos... as you know the Boas lasted 2 sessions and chunked... I have Caguamas in Orange 80a and Purple 83a and whilst I love them they are slow compared to my new favorite wheel... Speed Vents 85mm. When they say these are the fastest wheels on the planet... trust me... ITS TRUE!
*What is back bro!* LOVE the outtake 😂 🤙🏽⚡️🤙🏽 I love the blue cags but I'm comin from eBoarding. For regular skatin I would have to agree the OJs do it Just ordered the blue dad bods, didnt like the orange. Hope they send you some blue bods dude!
Thanks for filming the afterparty. I've done the last two BB since learning to skate 2+ years ago, but this year I missed the get together afterwards. Always a blast to skate with everyone down Manhattan and well worth the 10 hour drive from NC to participate. Great filming btw.
