This stuff right here is why I got out of the shop game…only work one my own stuff now You get crap like this and warranty says you get paid 3 hours to repair… While the job actually takes 10 hrs… Nah I’m good to just fix mine and my wife’s cars now…
Just like a 2020 Chev Diesel all junk, they have successfully Stopped the backyard mechanic, im along with many old folks are steady keeping older model cars and trucks running!!
If you think the starter is under the intake on this, one? You clearly havent heard where GM put the starter in the 4.9, Northstar, engines? Thry are under the intake, manifold. Inside of the, engine.
Why do people keep buying American cars? They are all made in Mexico and China. I only buy Japanese. Never have issues and 110% reliable. (Periodic maintenance is key....)
Putting on the pads dry is wrong. Brake lube is needed. Otherwise the pads will get stuck from the dirt and corrosion. Also some lube under the hardware as well.
Hey get this one1984 Mercury lynx 25 c. below 5 in the morning out in the boonies going to work up to a red light everything and I mean everything dead no headlights no engine nothing. As a backyard mechanic had to take it home to see why. Module size my little fingernail see through microscopic circuits inside. Back then $12:50 full days pay loss yeah Ford every time I think of it to this day I always wonder did Henry Ford need all this crap I'm seeing today
As someone who lives in the rust belt, greasing all points of contact with brake grease is the only thing that will keep your hardware from rusting and seizing up on itself. Even then, its barely enough. Anti-seize is really only good for bolts or threads. Get a good silicone based brake grease and slather that baby up! Obviously, keep it away from the brake pad material itself. But basically anywhere there's metal to metal contact, slap some grease on it. In the rust belt, if you don't, your gunna need a lot more than just pads or a rotor the next go around.
Each thing you pointed out is why Ford got it's reputation honestly. "Found On Roadside Dead!" "Fix Or Repair Daily" & "Fuckin Out Right Dangerous" my personal favorite since my 94 Ford ranger tried to kill me due to an Emergency brake recall that the previous owner didn't have fixed, which caused my rear brakes to lock up & my ass end tried racing me around a curve, so I broke my neck in the accident it caused, when my truck rolled... You can keep Fords.
