Wow, this song feels like an answer to the Daybreaker anthem! "Do not grieve for the moon or the sun of days long gone" and "This is the anthem of the days still to come" especially! Your lyrics always make me feel better and are slowly helping my aversion to change. I hope you continue to make these beautiful lyrics and lift our hearts for just a few minutes each day!
Gotta say, you've straight up stolen me from Caitlin Koi. I still enjoy her videos, and Bo is very cute, but your lyrics scratch an itch that makes me stay here! Wish i could subscribe while on RU-vid music, because RU-vid is currently unavailable to me at the moment... But I'll continue to like all of your videos and support you from afar!
Beautiful. Stop making me cry 😭 also I like to imagine that the girl's voice humming in the background here 1:54 is Shy-Ho-Shy, also saying a little goodbye 😊
AAAAAAAAAAAA CALLIE MY GIRL!!! Callie is by far my favorite of the idols, I'm even going to be her for Halloween! These lyrics are so damn cute just like her ❤
Complete opposite of where I thought this was going! Amazing as always, with "hit me up" being a play on ink me up. Always gotta love when you bamboozle us like that haha
Just realized that at 1:41 Frye's all like "can't believe you forgot about me but we'll be there for you" and Shiver is literally WALKING ON WATER because she won't let you die without her 🤣
2:18 at this part i always heard "thats all, you say?" And in the next verse frye sounds kinda whiny, so i always had it my head that they were making fun of each other cuz they're on opposite teams but i like these lyrics too!
I love the themes in each song and how you deepen all the characters with the gibberish ❤ Pearl bringing Marina into Inkling society and *ahem* IT'S PEARLINA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I feel like every single lyric maker like you, koi, (the other ones i cant remember but they still rock) all have the same issue with this song: you cant unnhear pearl saying "bitch". But amazing lyrics ❤
Came back to finally leave a comment on this video after it has possibly my favourite set of Splatoon lyrics for over a year. Your use of imagery and the story you tell in these lyrics are so heartfelt and compelling - all of your space imagery is so beautiful and done with such clear care, and I love the story concept about an astronaut setting off. I love how the song develops from setting up the addressee's desire to go to space, through the singer's sadness at their absence and hope for their return, and eventually the singer's acceptance and their hope on the addressee's behalf. I also love your use of repetition/motifs as they add such great cohesion to the song! "You had to know, you had to go, who can blame you?" Has lived in my head ever since I heard it for the first time, and i love the sincerity of "It's you, your life to live, so go". I'm also still not over "Tell me, have you found a drop of Eden? Cause you're Eden to me". I also really love how "Lying awake / tomorrow is here/ but now i think you'd want for me to get some rest" transports you into the moment so well - "tomorrow is here" is a familiar late- night feeling and one of my favourite ways of putting it, and the moment of realising that the person you care about would want you to look after yourself because they care about you is a wonderfully poignant one. Got to also take a moment to nod to your lyrics for the human voices in the song - I love how "I can see you wave from way above" fits the story of the song and how the inkfish made it up to the surface. This part of the song always makes me cry honestly, and "now I'm on my knees and looking up" always hits me extra hard. I really love the video for this as well - the stills you chose and use of switches between greyscale and colour create the perfect level of moodiness - and the face that the grey stills look like drawings creates such a great sense of a dream becoming reality. I also the clips you used of the Calamari Inkantation over time - they work so well! As far as I'm concerned, these will always be the definitive English lyrics to this song for me, as they elevate the original song and are art in their own right. Thank you so much for making and sharing these lyrics - they still get stuck in my head, and I love to come back to this video to enjoy the story again.
1:23 At this part i always hear "Oh what's the matter?" 1:47 and "Oh what's the problem?" As if the singer is taunting the other team as they take the lead, but as usual awesome lyrics and mashup!
Hold on! I just had an idea, it woild be amazing if you did the seasonal splatfests like springfest! The different instruments make each one a completely new experience, and with your talent I'm sure I'd be bliwn away with each one! Of course, just a suggestion, you don't have to.
I can't get enough everything you write is soooo gooood i love it!!! I always heard "Get up, get up! The music will bring you back up- back up!" But honestly "Thalassophobe" is way more creative and so catchy😭😭😭 ✨Edit: these lyrics are going in the notebook, I'm definitely memorizing them✨
Imagine instead of the hypnoshades, the Octolings wear special headphones that keep playing this and it controls them instead Like they can’t snap out of it it’s hypnotising
this adds fuel to my personal hc that pearl knew about marina being an octarian and supported her, but kept it a secret until she was ready to actually say it. I'm aware that in canon she didn't know, but i like to think that she did and just kept it a secret cus marina told her to. It also adds to the fact that their bond is so strong cus despite the fact that Pearl's gotta big mouth, she kept quiet about it cus she cares very deeply for marina. It's like very subtly poking at that through this song which i absolutely love
