good times being criticized for the stop-motion style is kinda unfair, I mean it could be artstyle and had been, but yeah every other points is fair enough
Pov: my mom thinking I'd like wish because she does, but I Leave after the 3rd-ish song (You're a Star) she even got me a wish *Towel.* Guess I'm never using it.
Huey is the most like a voice of reason in the show, but he's also canonically a paranoid schitzo. Evident by when he thought stinkmiener was a blind samurai because of a dream he had. Lil bro legit thought he saw the future.
There were so many great characters and stories in the Boondocks. Ebony Brown is my favorite female character of all time, bar-none. Ruckus somehow made Jimmy Rebel a slightly better person. Even Season 4, whilst it wasn't as good as the other three seasons, is still better than a LOT of television that has come out at the same time or since.
Note the captions(?) on Vox's broadcast: "So the radio guy's back. I don't think you noticed. I didn't at first -- I was too busy being a much more interesting and important person. But fuck it. News is slow today I guess. I'm totally not worried about this guy and neither should you be. I totally wrecked his shit last time he tried me. Thanks for watching." Those captions speak for themselves, I think.
isn't one made by disney the other by a team cooperating with amazon prime? isn't one a movie the other a show? isn't one for kids the other for adults
Im not a huge fan of satire because i find it rediculas. But at least the Boondocks had a point to make. It pointed out problems with generation's, communities, celebratys. This new show of Good times is just trash that spreads trash
Huey Freeman isn't really a metaphor for any one person at the time. He's more of a relived caricature of Huey P. Newton and Fred Hampton. His character was a venting point for political views that have no representation in society, political views and social views that would stand to benefit us as a people. This show, was a counter to that, specifically. It was created with malice. Maybe not from the cast, or the artists. But the writers, the producers, and most of all, the people writing their checks, wanted to take something from the black community, and destroy it. They failed, because we will always have the REAL Good Times. You can't take that away from us. Furthermore, there will always be a Huey. Again, there are some things you can't take away. For every stereotypical person, who is only ever viewed through society's corrupt, racist, and hateful lens, there are 50 Huey's, all fighting to bring down and rewrite the system that created that lens.
I'm done. Racism is reaching a new peak in an entirely new way, and this "reboot" is proof. Boondocks had a message. This has a counter-message, which is antithetical to the culture it's trying to "represent". This show is racist garbage.
Honestly, their first mistake was having Seth MacFarlane attached to this. If they wanted to do a show with good black commentary, Aaron McGruder or someone of that caliber would've been a better choice.
The NTSG watermark 💀 That’s someone who got ahold of the files and uploaded the show before it aired. They put their tag as a watermark over it in the top left. You can see it during Vox’s song.
12:24 I know people compare Big Jack Horner to Disney trying to get all the magic and properties of studios, but in a way Vox represents Disney currently, and Alister is Indie animation. Scared because of 1 episode from a silly circus show made by people that no one knew, GOT A AWARD AND ALSO BLOWING WISH OUT OF THE WATER IN COMPARISON.
And honestly, hazbin hotel does the rhing that musicals aee supposed ro be. The songs are the characters needing to express something more than words can say, they are the characters acreaming or begging to be seen they arent just "hey wd need a bit of a bump" or "We need a song for the awards"
i don't like that the lyrics in wish feel all jumbled like it just have to fit in the music even it it is not made for this, and they are not really catchi that you want to sing along. also they are explaining a lot in the songs. i like it when in hazbin hotel we know tv and radio have an argument without them saying it directly and you can just feel it. I give disney some points for the narcsist pictures because it is pretty accurad and it got my ptsd triggered a lot, but it is not for everyone to understand especially not for kids and getting triggered is also not good if you just want to enjoy a disney movie like always so it was a bad approach from disney.
I got to about a minute and 20 before your voice annoyed me along with your terrible presentation your repetitive process and your whining about the same seen multiple times
Ay thanks for this video. Really well made. Subbed. You could just listen to the OG good times theme song and get the gist of its message from that alone. No clue what this demake wanted to accomplish.
I'm too biased to do Hazbin Hotel vs Wish, because Hazbin Hotels is one of my favourite cartoon shows. So I'll take a movie I dislike but that is successful and works vs Wish: Hunchback of Nôtre-Dame. While this movie did not really appeal to me because I was not too fond of the style as well as how they made Quasimodo in the movie (I couldn't describe it but it feels very icky That and the gargoyles drove me crazy.), I loved the songs and depth of the characters, their weaknesses and strengths exhibited throughout the movie and how poignant it felt. Disney sometimes forgets it had one key important part in their movies and it's the fact that life is not white, not black, but different shades of grey, and it was willing to show that the progression of things that were negative could prove to be positive with help and maturity. An eye-opening moment that would have a gut-wrenching but still fair hit on the kids watching. Life is not a utopia, "no" does not make you the bad guy, and bad decisions can be made even by the best and nicest people. There are different tones in characters too, not just tropes, which just sums up Wish; it is a replica of Disney movie skeleton, using tropes and appealing to children who have that insolent approach that "no means you're depriving me of my free will". It's as if Disney thought it's aimed at people who aim for anarchy. Power is very controversial but it is not necessarily bad. If you have no sense of hierarchy or anything that can make rules or guide you, you will inherently seek to do whatever you want and even if subjectively you feel like it is best, objectively it may not, and may result in absolute chaos. That's why democracy exist. So people together choose a leader as the majority wants, and while the minority may not be rolling with it, the goal is to try best to give everyone a sense of equality, and satisfy as most as you can, and try to make the best accommodations for the minority. In Wish it just feels like "the king said no", "that's not fair but not inherently bad is it?", "well... yeah but...umm... HE ALSO IS A POWER HUNGRY DICTATOR AND EGOMANIAC!", "Oh no that is bad." In Le Bossu de Nôtre-Dame/Hunchback of Nôtre-Dame, there is context, historical context, with the church being in power and speaking for god thus being the supreme and almighty judge, which educates kids on what life was back then while also entertain them with a clear statement. The person who speaks for God, who is supposed to be a pure and holy figure, is actually detestable, impure and unholy. Our first contradiction with the context that grabs your attention: if this is that, then why is that there? And why is this person not good? Because he's hypocritical. He uses God as an excuse to commit sexual harassment, racism, blackmail, genocide, but keeping the image of someone who represents all that is good. BAM! The terms are said. This person is a criminal, he is a villain. It feels less "soft and bubbly with unicorns" and more "in life there is darkness, even the light casts a shadow, but an intense ray can illuminate that shadow and give hope in the dark." And that last part, is why I strongly dislike Wish (The Movie but made by Wish) and its core. Their villain had potential and song name too, but they ruined it. And AI-wise... I'm willing to bet someone started the script, was tired then asked chatGPT to do the rest. That or they really went south, focused on the easter eggs, and even ChatGPT could do a better script than that sorry excuse for a writer's work.
I wonder if the voice cast actually read the script before signing on and how they could be okay with the material. was it all just a paycheck to them?
When I saw your video, I immediately logged in to my phone to write this. I want to give you 10 likes. He completely missed the point on this one. I’m old enough to remember the original in the 80s. The sequel has a better story by not relying on the ambiguity of the first one. K has a better story arc, wanting to be the child. The character „Love“ is an amazing accomplice to Mr. Evil. It is not at all a flashy reboot that only relies on visuals. Also his relationship to Joi is contributing so much to his longing for humanity. Anyways, I’m writing this on my phone. Great video. 120% agree with you.
also the new ice age movie in like 2022 sucked cause the animation was terrible like it was 2014 and it wasnt as good as the other 4 movie and scrat tales is good ig (but has nothing to do with this video)
