I am SO IMPRESSED by your TBR bingo. I... may steal that idea. Great idea for readathons. I've had baked potatoes on the brain lately too. We've had some cool days and it just has me looking forward to potatoes and soup. The Kenneth Branagh renditions of Poirot, on the other hand, did not impress me. I haven't seen any of the ones with David Suchet, but my great-aunt says that he is the best Poirot, and generally I trust her opinions about literature and TV. 😂
So ready for fall! Unrelated to this video but I know you mentioned this series in another video. I just found out from Dana Mentink’s newsletter that there will be a 4th book in the Shake-shop series. Sometime in the fall😊
The 70s death on the nile is my all time favourite followed by David Suchet's death on the nile. I did not lile the new one. David suchet is my favorite poirot. Xx
Thank you! I got the box desk at Goodwill 💚 The markers say "Staedtler" on them. They leave streaks though, so I'm not sure if they'd be my recommendation for coloring. I'm looking into some other ones 😊
David Suchet played Poirot in the ITV adaptation series. Every Poirot story was adapted in that series (except one). I highly recommend the whole series. He is an excellent narrator. I also recommend Hugh Fraser (he played Hastings in the ITV series) He does some Poirot audiobooks and some other Agatha Christie standalone audiobooks.
Hi Amy. I love Scooby Doo and you using your game as TBR picks. I sadly had stop the Caribbean Kitchen series after book 2. The MIL was still horrible and while I wanted to continue to follow Miriam I simply could not. I felt the author is just plain old mad at issues and is dumping them into her books. ☹️ I need to get away from those topics in cozy mysteries. Anyway rant over, this was a fun vlog. I am not ready for summer to be over but I am sick of the very hot weather. Happy Reading.
Oof! That's not great to hear about the MIL. I was hoping that would improve as it certainly wasn't a great aspect of the story. I'm glad you enjoyed the vlog otherwise. I'm sick of the hot weather too 😊
The best Poirot is David Suchet so you can watch anything with him. DONT - for the love of all thats dear to you - DON'T watch these new movies that came out a few years ago.
I’ve read the first two books in the Yarn Retreat mysteries. I’m a knitter so I especially enjoyed those books. I’m definitely going to read the next one!

This was such a cozy video! I don't want to rush fall where I am. We have very long, cold winters. But it is beginning to feel like fall! The crickets are chirping in the morning, which is always the first sign that the seasons are changing. I love your Scooby Doo Bingo game for picking from your TBR shelves! I am such a mood reader and have a terrible time getting the books on my shelves read. I go to the library and all of those books seem so much more interesting than the ones on my shelves 🙄. But, I set aside twelve books at the beginning of the year that I wanted to read from my shelves this year. I have read about half of them, so that feels like a win to me. I have enjoyed both of the Death on the Nile movies you mentioned. The pace of the older one is much slower than the more recent one.
That's a good system! I like the idea of setting aside books like that. That's why I like the bingo board because I can have some variety (since I'm a mood reader) while still focusing on my goals 💜
I really like the game! It's so much fun. As for a Death on the Nile movie, I really don't love the newer Poirot movies starring Kenneth Branagh as Poirot, so if you're gonna watch one, i certainly recommend the 1978 one
I am also ready for Fall as Summer was really hot! I really like David Suchet, as others have said he IS Poirot. To be honest I don’t care about the other adaptations. I met David Suchet about 10 years ago as part of my then job and I was awe struck it was a weird feeling! He is a nice man ☺️
Hi Amy, I enjoy your vlogs and watching how you continue to grow as a content creator. There are three versions of Death on the Nile that I know of. David Suchet pronounced Sue Shay who narrated the book you read and is the quintessential Poirot stars in the version that in my opinion most closely follows the book. The 1978 version with Peter Ustinov in the lead as Poirot is part of an all star cast and enjoyable to watch. Though I love and respect Kenneth Branagh as an actor and filmmaker I did not enjoy his interpretation in the most recent adaptation.

P.S. Peter Ustinov played Hercule Poirot in Death on the Nile in the 70s...it was okay ish... Kenneth Branagh did the modern rendition and it was much better; however, David Suchet will ALWAYS be Hercule Poirot to me! 😊
David Suchet played Poirot in a series 13 seasons. One being Death on the Nile. I subscribe to 2 British streaming services ( I really love their mysteries way more compared to American tv) so I probably watched there but my library has them so maybe yours. You could just watched the one you read so you don't spoil anything. To me he is Poirot

I’ve read the Jean Flowers series. I enjoyed but it ended after only 3 books. Tonya Kappes also has a good series featuring a woman that works at the post office. I highly recommend that series.

First I have a comment. Your hair, makeup and outfit are gorgeous! Now I have a question what are your favorite Ruth Ware and Lucy Foley books? I've never read either of those authors but they seem to be two of your favorites.
Thank you so much! 💙 My favorite Ruth Ware thriller is Turn of the Key. I also adore One by One and The Death of Mrs. Westaway, but these are a little more mystery/thriller. For Lucy Foley, I love The Guest List, but would recommend looking up trigger warnings.
