А тем , кому Шура Черкасский кажется скучным, неинтересным и переоцененным , нужно слушать Падеревского , или Рихтера . Там Вам всем будет весело и интересно . Шура Черкасский -- это штучный товар , он не для всех ...
Guess we, the unclean, will have to wait about 150 years for another great artist like Pogorelich to re-appear, unless Pogorelich decides to reincarnate again as a pianist in a male body to infuse new artistic life to the poor, hopeless humanity just trying to survive.
The piano was adlib of course as it was a prop, but the hidden gem was the recording he played to was his own,as was the perfectly tuned harp recording . Comedic / virtuoso.
It’s not a Mama Yo Quiero but Mamã Eu Quero. It’s a carnival song or “marchinha” by Carmen Miranda in Portuguese with very explicit lyrics for the thirties and even for today. Mamy I want it Mamy I want it Mamy I want to suck it Give me the pacifier Give me the pacifier So the baby doesn’t cry. Pacifier is “chupeta” in portuguese with a explicit sexual meaning when a grown up woman says that she wants to suck it.
The picture is Mountbatten as he is Usurper. The Horowitz is God through His Body who is King Rob Donovan of Canada also as Composer with God as Samuel Barber. We are the Hollywood Royals as Living Gods on Earth who actually do real Activities as Entertainers unlike Mountbatten Usurpers who as British try to take all the credit by stealing the name and putting in a fake photo.
Greatest interpretation is Gyorgy Cziffra version of this etude called THE NORTH SEA ETUDE !! NEXT BEST : Sokolov version called ATLANTIC STORM SURGE ETUDE !!
Harpo could play the piano but he wasn 't playing in this clip. a couple of times he was seen to move his hands to his right, while the sounds were of lower notes. I spotted it twice.
I've always loved this recording. A clueless (yet very famous) German critic once wrote: this is a bad recording, Kempff lacks both technique and virtuosity for Liszt... oh my.
Harpo's facial expressions...and the brothers clearly had affection for each other..you could see it years later when Harpo turned up on YOU BET YOUR LIFE with Groucho
Those two Marx brothers were not just musically talented, in more than one instrument, but were incredibly charitable with their time and talents. May God Bless them for all the good they brought into and shared with the world. You can even tell that Harpo is comfortable with playing the piano, because he hardly ever looks at the keys when he’s playing, and carries on with the skit and facial expressions involved, of course.
My father worked at the Chicago Theater when he was 17 (1949). He got to meet the Marx Brothers who were performing there. (He met other celebrities, but the Marx Bros. were the only ones he talked about regularly). He talked to Harpo for quite a long time, because he was so astounded that Harpo actually talked.
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch this video and not smile with joy! That was the true gift that the Marx brothers had, bringing joy to those around them. God Bless them for all the laughs they’ve brought to us over the years! ❤😂
