Why don't You lay a track of at least 12" gauge? Same dimensions, same charges, but much more stability and comfort.

I have no idea - why not to build at least 12" track on the same terrain. Yes, sleepers are more expensive as they're longer. But all other charges are the same!

Have you considered yet to have unequal length headers? If you made one longer than the other two you’d get a nice rumble without making the exhaust louder or changing emissions. 👍
