Dude, you sound like you are trying to criticize this like it is its own thing you paid for and has a clear independent goal, and not free a mod for Doom to build off the original gameplay. I'd say this is simular to under the mayo's view on Ultrakill, but he never called it trash, he in fact admited when you play it correctly it is lethargic. Playing Doom Eternal and understanding its phylosophy doesn't mean you shit gold when you criticize things. Also to be clear the video was very ignorant of the mod's goal, along with its mechanics.
When I was a kid my dad played Doom 3 allot, I didn't vibe with it at all because I was playing Doom 1 and 2 and had no idea how this related so I just saw it as a stupid modernization of a classic. Then when I went to replay it when I got older I played BFG edition so I still didn't like it. It wasn't until playing the Team Beef VR port that used the original game. That is an exilerating experience and it really made me appreciate how amazing Doom 3 is not just as a great modernization of a classic but a really scary horror game at the same time when you have the stencil shadows and the only part of an enemy you can see are the glowing bits on them
I am not doom fan, but i dont think you need to play doom or smth else to hate game journalists, because they are not journalists. They are greedy assholes, whores. They will say anything about any game if they get money for this. And because these "journalists" dont actually play games lol. They will never get good

Imo: 1. Doom&Doom2 - timeless, still played today (D2 is pretty much the same as D1 but just "bigger"), 2. Doom 3 - at that time it was impressive with its graphics and unique atmosphere (a nice take on the Doom series), 3. Doom 2016 - a fresh and good take on the series with great music same as the 90' releases, 4. Doom Eternal - its more like a Quake game with some Super Mario platform elements everywhere = bad level design, not interesting and special at all (least resembles doom), 5. Doom 64 - it's like a downgrade of the original series (he was released too late). Nice vid. Cheers!
Flashlight isn't a problem. Tired of people bringing this shit up. (Carmack wanted flashlight in original but engine limitations didn't allow) 1.) Too much ammo 2.) Weapons got degrade ex: Shotgun got weaker, chaingun slower rate of fire, pistol more inaccurate (most weapons got that) This is all likely a result from the devs putting in too much ammo 3.) Movement is wonkey, and gotten stuck on invisible terrain 4.) Too damn bright 5.) Glitches ex: enemies stuck in walls (or an imp jumping thru a door that hasn't opened yet fully, as in their model moved through a gap the size of a few pixels) 6.) Muzzle flash gone 7.) Enemy animation off sometimes (shotgunner shoots without a muzzle flash from them or without their animation going off)
