Why is the ISD's frontal firepower so diluted? The guns were never that cramped together on the original ILM models, and the two sloped platforms both batteries are on are supposed to be angled in such a way that all of them can fire at once without obstructing each other. It also makes zero sense that it's pretty much useless against frigates and anything smaller. ISDs are designed to be an entire battle line condensed into one capital ship, and the Devastator pretty handedly crippled the Tantive IV in the first Star Wars film.

Been playing 4.0 for quite some time, and love every minute, watching this is super inspiring! I have really enjoyed being on the Discord, and I look forward to continue watching the progression of this Mod! I have played EaW since I was a kid, this mod really brings it all back and it is fantastic, I really appreciate the work you and your team has put into this mod! I wish I was able to be an Alpha tester to help anyway I could, but I do understand that they are a special breed of people and probably need knowledge of coding and stuff. LOL! Anyways, AWESOME stuff Dutch! Long Live The Empire!
Everything looks and sounds really good from the sound design to the maps, units everything looks excellent to be honest with all the new sounds and voices, maps and general graphics and units it really does look and feel like a new game. EAW Remake and the EAW Remake Clone Wars Holdout mods are probably my 2 favorite eaw foc mods on steam atm. Keep up the work I can't wait to play 5.0.
The 4.0 audio has been completely stripped out and rebuilt from scratch, and it definitely shows :) It's not entirely done, you may notice Luke Skywalker and the Mill Falcon don't have firing sfx or engine idle sounds yet, but what there is, is very satisfactory.
What was the point of building shipyard at the beginning if You only have 1 not full upgraded mining asteroid + Deploying units in enemy fire range, poor Bail Organa
Fully upgrading a mining asteroid when there are now three levels of Tradeport upgrades on the main starbase, (providing additional credits from the main starbase) and the fact that each of the mining asteroid upgrades only provide +10% to the mine, and that all of the structures shipyards included now provide income, going for just a mine, and rushing all 5 income upgrades on it is a losing strategy. Earlier in the video I hover over the building descriptions, incase you want to see how much income each building provides. For poor Bail, had to look back on the video what exactly happened because he is quite a tanky hero normally. It turns out he ran right into a double barrage of the ISDs very powerful main guns, once on each broadside. That was really unfortunate, it's the fastest I've seen that hero die.

Definitely still alive, just stopped making youtube content for a while. I still livestream every week though, and on our discord server there's frequent mod updates as it develops further.
Basically@@nicolacallaghan9754, it is a three-part full redesign of the game, taking 4.0s art assets as a starting point, and not much else. Both space combat and ground combat have been ctrl + a + del, and the core gameplay was completely reimagined. The reason we decided not to keep building on 4.0s gameplay (for both space and ground) is because there were many gameplay ideas our team had, that were difficult to implement in the old system. This took a very significant amount of time (dispite that, considering the monsterous amount of work this took, for both ground and space, progress was very swift), but for both ground and space combat the results have been, if I can say so, quite spectacular. Not just the unit design, but also the audio and the ai have received full overhauls, resulting in moments such as 47:20 where the ai will now detect that its units are now losing the engagement due to incoming enemy reinforcements, so the ai decides to reinforce itself with several ships, enough that it thinks it can win. Which was true, and absolutely ruined the assault I was beginning there, even committing that very precious MC-75 battlecruiser, that was now surely doomed. That may not be very impressive for a player to do, but for an ai to bait and n switch the player like that is quite something. 5.0 has been an incredible amount of work, but hopefully people agree it has been a worthwhile time investment. oh, looks very wargame/Man of War. probably the only way to salvage EaW ground combat. I greatly approve. Would it be possible to add a system of concealment?
