Se ve que Castillo no quería seguir pelando, Corrales le hizo más daño y aguantó los golpes más duros que de Hatton, si castillo hubiera querido le hubiera dado una buena madrina
I love the nickname "Hook & Hold" Hatton, lol. He would always get away with holding and wrestling, he pretty much was a small version of John Ruiz. You know whats ironic is Cortez let Hatton punch and hold this whole fight, but against Mayweather the second Hatton would get into clinching distance, he wouod break the fighters. Why was his ref style the complete opposite of this fight??? Obvious he must be instructed to favor a certain fighter, the "house" fighter.
Thats why Hatton was a fan of Roberto Duran. He also did quite a lot of holding in fights. The next fight after this was Mayweather and he was doing a lot of holding.Hatton dug really hard to the body thats why Rog Mayweather got Cortez to split them when Hatton was getting inside to load the shots to floydys ribs.
Didn't know Hat was a fan of "hands of steel" Holding seems like a cheap way to get an advantage. Perhaps bossing commission should consider penalizing for holding excessively??
Castillo admitió que solo entrenaba para dar el peso y eso a veces, que solo lo motivo el dinero, es un desperdicio del boxeo mexicano pudo hacer más con hatton, corrales y ptovodnikov si llevara una vida de cuidados
American commentators having to swallow bile if they were forced to say something remotely positive about someone not hailing from North America. Hatton "held" his way to the top of world boxing. How were these guys allowed in front of a mic??
Hatton wasnt quite in the same class as the greats of the division, but to be the guy that would finish Tszyu's reign is something he can hang his hat on forever. It was a shock to the boxing world.
So much talent around 140lb that its easy to disregard Hatton as a great...definitely a damn good fighter though and his famous victory against Tszyu was the end of a long reign. Yes, Tszyu was well on the decline and it had to happen at some point, and the fight was at some stupid hour in the morning for tv reasons, but those burrow and grind tactics worked and can be seen again somewhat in this fight. Not pretty, but effective.
Victor Ortiz fue un gran boxeador lo tenía casi todo ,buena pegada, buen estilo etc, pero no tenía quijada, no tenía aguante ,ni pundonor no tenía sangre de guerrero como todos los boxeadores latinos.
