Greetings! Thanks for stopping by the Forever Wingman RU-vid channel. Here you’ll find interviews on Life and Careers in the United States Air Force. Be sure to head over to www.ForeverWingman.com.
I’m struggling to get a recruiter to take me seriously or respond back. One recruiter lied to me as well. I’m a year out from my wait time I was told by the recruiters but I’d really rather get a waiver submitted and her back officially from the SG for a proper “try again at this date” I’ve seen others through networking communities get accepted with their cases. I don’t what to say to help me with the process. Ps Love both of the content you guys put out!! Been following you guys for two years now! 😁
Hey, just stopping by to say your work is highly appreciated in documenting all these different AFSC’s. I have directed many people to look at your website as an honest rundown of what certain career fields entail, and although you may not have the following you deserve, your work is nonetheless vital.
Hey! That's super kind of you to say. Honestly, I love doing it. It can be difficult getting up to date info, but knowing I'm helping in whatever small way makes it worth it. I'm hoping to have the demographics updated soon. Just got back a FOIA request after 2 years. Lol! Feel free to reach out if you have any recommendations.
Josh - Very interesting take on AF careers and experiences. Do you plan to speak with those of us from the Vietnam era about our reasons for enlisting or being drafted and how we started our careers and what happened to many of us afterwards ?
Man, I've thought about getting a multi-generational perspective on the AFSCs, but most of my audience is looking for current info. I'd love to include this type of info one day...especially the "what happened to many of us afterwards." Everyone gets out one day! Thanks for your service brother!!!
Just booked. Ship 9/17. Look forward to being a PowerPoint ranger. Great points about the finding balance. It took me a while to understand burnout and not forget you aren’t a robot. Take breaks. Enjoy life. You literally Come back stronger. Going in at 32 I with two toddlers myself. I expect to be quite older than most. But I’m looking forward to learning from everyone. And the sleep. I anticipate I’ll be getting more of that than I do now at bootcamp 😂
my military training leader or MTL back in tech school down at Fort Sam Houston is 3E3 i’ll never forget him he made a huge impact on me like my MTI in BMT! thank you so much Staff Sergeant Swick!!! 🤙🏽
Does structural specialist include any electrical training if not what other job in the military include more trade training all at ounce also great video by the way.
Thanks for watching! No electrical from what I gathered. Take a look at the link below, and scroll down to the 3E AFSCs. Lots of trade jobs. foreverwingman.com/air-force-jobs/
That's great! I wish you the best! Base selection is really far down the process. There are a LOT of possible assignments with this AFSC, so I wouldn't be too concerned with the few you won't be able to go to. You'll hear a lot about the needs of the Air Force, and assignments are one of those areas. I recommend taking a look at this interview with @Jodywithawhy on the recruitment process. Check out his channel for a lot of other great AF videos as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IECtx2dGyX8.html
I was an AGE mechanic 87 to 92. One of the best decisions in my life. Learned a lot; mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic, gas turbine compressors, AC, heat, ,,,,,. Great place to learn and have fun fixing things. To this day I know I could walk into an AGE shop and fix things even with the newer equipment. I am now a shop teacher +20 years. If I could talk the educational power brokers into me teaching AGE, it would benefit students and industry. AGE prepares you for a lot of careers.
Great interview. I've researched a ton on jobs but this one rly speaks to me. Im in the process of joining. Just had a few hiccups that took alot to straighten out. All I have left to do is pick a job and this is on the list. I actually had RF but my credit took soo long to clear that it's no longer available. This may just inspire me to do GT. I already love driving. I actual drive postal for a living. This may be up my alley. I come from a family of truckers, although I never considered it myself. Funny how time changes perspective
I was part of the 424MTD and 70Th MTD during convoys in Iraq in 2008, 2010, and 2011 and the beginning of 2012. Can't believe is a thing of the past after we were so active rotating back to back. For all the new guys is an easy carrier I passed basic training and Tech-school not knowing English, only with a help of a translation book. That means you guys can do it too.
Airman Vision has a pretty good video on phases. It's from 2022 but probably still relevant. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5UarHwgIv5o.html
Color vision knocked me out of a lot of Air Force jobs, but I qualified for all source intel. Problem is I really don’t want to be at a desk all day. However I really want to do something cool and secret like like this. The only two jobs I qualified for that I’m considering is all source intel and rf transmissions systems. Any advise or help deciding from anyone really appreciated
Man, to be honest, both would be good options. Both are marketable on the outside. Both will get you a clearance. RF, you will be outside a lot more. If you're making your list, then I'd put both on there. Hope that helps!
Good Night. I was contemplating enlisting into a maintainer. What job title is specifically aircraft maintenance? I'm not looking for a prep job= putting up ladder for pilot etc. Purely maintenance. Thanks for the vid!
Hey thanks a bunch! If you're interested in being interviewed on the 1N7 AFSC, check out this page and we'll see what we can get lined up. foreverwingman.com/interview/
+1 Subscriber. Your AFSC info site has been amazing. It has made it so much easier to compare jobs & decide which job I wanted. I skim through the job description then jump to possible assignments. Then dissect the rest of the info when a job has met my overseas load. Love the extra podcast speaking with airmen in the job. Thank you for your work
Hey! That's awesome! Glad the site and interviews are helping! Good luck on your AF journey. Let me know when you're ready to be interviewed on your AFSC! 😉
So, from my understanding the deployment tempo will depend on the squadron you support. If you are attached to a more operational squadron then you'd deploy more often. Hope that helps!!!
