Amazing interview with TSgt Derrick Moreau on the 2T1X1 - Ground Transportation AFSC (formerly known as Vehicle Management). He brings a unique perspective being an instructor at the Ground Transportation school house!
So, what does a 2T1X1 do? Advances the Air Force mission by providing centralized, efficient, and economical organic ground transportation capabilities for movement of personnel and cargo. Plans, organizes and directs ground transportation support to operational missions. Operates and manages light and heavy-duty vehicles such as buses, truck and semi-trailer combinations, forklifts, and wrecker/recovery vehicles.

Just swore in a few weeks ago and chose Ground Transportation. Thank you for making this very informative video. This seems like a somewhat obscure career field without a lot of information about it online. I'm glad to finally have found a good source of reliable info on this specific career. I must say at first I was a bit sceptical and nervous picking this career without knowing much about it. But after doing my research I feel so fortunate to have landed this job (it was either Security Forces, Services, or Ground Transportation.) I'm glad I dodged a bullet by not picking Security Forces lol. I leave for BMT January 3rd, 2023 and am excited to start my career in the Air Force.

How has it been so far? My situation is a bit different, I really wanted security forces and didn’t select this one but it came up and I’m ready to get started as it’s been a journey and I accepted ground transportation to leave fast and I ship out on Tuesday July 23, 2024 all in all I’m grateful and excited for the new journey 6 year Contract.

I was part of the 424MTD and 70Th MTD during convoys in Iraq in 2008, 2010, and 2011 and the beginning of 2012. Can't believe is a thing of the past after we were so active rotating back to back. For all the new guys is an easy carrier I passed basic training and Tech-school not knowing English, only with a help of a translation book. That means you guys can do it too.

Great interview. I've researched a ton on jobs but this one rly speaks to me. Im in the process of joining. Just had a few hiccups that took alot to straighten out. All I have left to do is pick a job and this is on the list. I actually had RF but my credit took soo long to clear that it's no longer available. This may just inspire me to do GT. I already love driving. I actual drive postal for a living. This may be up my alley. I come from a family of truckers, although I never considered it myself. Funny how time changes perspective
