This hit clother to home than expected... it's kinda though to think that at my age (I think we are very close in age) I am still struggling to live daily. I'm not complaining, I do my dream job, I earn enough to eat, sleep confortably and even take the very occasional trip to visit cool places but. It's so tough. The process has been so hazardous just to get to this tight place. But I love that your video still celebrate this wobbly path somehow. Your path is quite admirable, you've tris so hard, and you've done so much, it's nice to see you reflect on it. I wonder what the next 15 years will bring. I want to be hopefull, I really do <3
Thank you so much! Choosing to pursue a creative path feels like both living life on hard mode and also somehow cheating, because of how fun the work can be 😅
Beautiful sketches 🌸You’re very talented at drawing and colouring. Those flower sketches would make beautiful designs for cards. Hope you’re feeling better : )
So many points in your journey are so relatable. Even though I have a different background, different set of skills and different goals, I have experienced many of the things in Denmark that you describe. It is tough to be a foreigner who is also self-employed and doesn't have a massive network. Heads up. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. I am trying "to crack the code" too. It boils down to the lack of sales & marketing skills - the ones that seem so boring. It seems like you are way ahead in this regard. Thank you for sharing your journey! It's been inspirational.
@@forindet I observe the same in many people who are very talented but don’t know how to sell themselves. I struggle with the same. Crossing fingers for your success and I will let you know if I get somehow ahead and learn a bit.
@@sg666tri For me is not so much that I don't know how to sell, it's that I chose not to use many sales and marketing strategies, because I find them manipulative and unethical and what's left is just less effective 😅
I hear you. I also became self-employed eight years ago, quite late in life, and nothing is as I wanted or thought it would be. This is one of the most challenging and difficult times in my life, and it doesn't seem like I've made any progress, or gotten any closer to where I wanted to go. I know that Im in my 'tower moment' (or 2 months😬), hoping that I'll come out stronger and with renewed hopes and passion. Thank you for the video and for your honesty and courage. Sending you a lot of love and support 💜
You have achieve so much! :) I also wish i would have known that even if i did everything right it was going to be so hard. Anyways, there is so much to be grateful and proud of ;)
Loved seeing these pictures and listening to your reflections. The artist way of living is hard, but I feel like it gave me the opportunity to experience sensations and feelings I wouldn't have otherwise. I'm so happy I got to cross your path when I did, you have been such an inspiration to me ! Sending looove ❤
Have you ever heard of stick and stitch? I use it for embroidery and it's really nice- it's essentially a paper that you can draw on and stick to your fabric and it dissolves in water so you can wash it away once your done with your project!
I've seen people online use what you describe and was wondering where do you get it and what it's called, I'll have to look it up ^_^ Thanks for sharing ❤
Hej folks! I got a new microphone! It’s awful, I hate it, but unfortunately we’d have to endure it for this one and the next video, please don’t leave me 😅 I’ve already returned it, better luck next time, I hope 😅
These things happen. I’ve had discoloured water coming out of my steam iron. Now I only use a spray bottle and never put water in the iron. Your video of the countryside is beautiful. Loved the early morning on mid summer. Your embroidery is lovely. I’m trying to teach myself. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you! I'll try to be a better iron owner next time haha! Embroidery is so calming, I can definitely recommend and there's so many different styles and ways to do it, so much to explore ❤
Great video and thoughts. Your idea of blogging is a good idea. They may not be as popular as they used to be, but it’s a great way to share info, people to find you and some still use them to generate a lot of income. Good luck!
I really like your content... you are so honest about your thoughts and its entertaining... I wish to see more art related stuffs too if you are comfortable with it.. I really like your art.. ❤ To share my thoughts, yes it's incredibly disturbing to know that we are being exploited and frankly there's no way to escape and don't see anyone in power actually taking actions. It's really hard to live these days. I personally really like blogs and email letters with illustrations by my favourite artists. But I think you will have to market your blog through popular social media because I don't see myself actively searching for blogs. Rather I see them through youtube contents or in email newsletters and then view the blogs because I like the content. There are great alternatives to Adobe I believe, I hope you could enjoy your process of getting to know the new software and share that journey with us. Really sorry to hear your journey is still not paying it off. While it lasts, maybe you can use social media to market your content in youtube and your blog. I truly hope your shiny days will come sooner.. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much ❤ Yes, you are right, blogs are hard to find. I wish there was a social media or something that actually lets you follow blogs and shows you updates from blogs. As it is I sometimes find interesting ones through Pinterest, binge their content and then forget about them 😞😅
I think we(artists) are all wondering what to do, for Adobe, it was such a blast for me, honestly, I've made the switch to affinity a little more than a year ago and I just laughed, they are just idiots that keeps diggint their own grave. I had been using Adobe and their products for almost 20 years as well, I learned so much technique on their various soft that the change was rather complicated. But today I've sent a book to print using Affinity and worked on a few client project. I'm not going to lie, the change was difficult, I'm so glad my clients and printer were patient and nice to me. I could have been more clever and learned more on my side before. But Affinity is enough. Once you get rid of your Adobe reflexes, it is a wonderful tool. I've also switched to the perfectly free Da vincy Resolve for video editing. This one is better than Premiere and After effect for what I do (RU-vid vlogs...) On the second subject of Instagram, I just cannot leave, first : my clients just don't care. Then the client base of pottential futur fan is here, there is more than a billiard of active users on the plateform. As an entrepreneur, it's just suicide to go elsewhere right now. I am angry yes, but I am practical, and I also realise that we cannot live behind closed doors like what Cara is doing right now. For my future clientelle, Instagram is the way to go. Facebook too by the way, the plateform is not dead and very much alive, with some people around my age and above (35yo and more then XD) And these people tend to be in my niche. So I can't just leave if I want to continue to expend my business. People outside the artists spheres just don't care about all this, they really don't, we could educate them of course, and show them how "stealing is bad" but we got to stay where they are and keep talking to them and not just live between ourselves. Small internet communities and like minded communities are fun and confortable but we've got to be open and be the leader for change (and I'm not only talking about the mechanisms that radicalise in politics, it's valid also for all sorts of ideas) if we stay between like minded people, we won't change the world. We'll just agree with each other, and the other will keep doing the same no knowing what they did wrong. They're stealing. Damn, sorry, so much salt. I still don't think Cara is a thing. It's a tiny bandaid on an open wound.
In the meantime Adobe has issued a "clarification" of their new ToS and addressed some concerns. While it makes things sound a bit better, their behaviour is still concerning and they have broken trust way too many times, so I don't think that it changes things much 😕
Really don't know what I should think about that all. But my thoughts went in the same direction, as yours do. I haven't already started my own art-business, but soon I will. At the moment I think search-engines like RU-vid and Pinterest could be an option, as well as blogging and an e-mail-Newsletter. Haven't thougt about Infinity, yet, but I will check that out. 🙌🏻 Sorry, to hear, that your artjourney doesn't pay off. But there might com more successful times!❤ I wish you the best for your plans! 🤗
Thank you! RU-vid and Pinterest are sketchy in their own ways and if they aren't training AI it's probably just a matter of time, but at least they give you a bit more visibility than Instagram (for now?/ in my experience). By the way the alternative software is called Affinity, I'm not sure if it was a typo or whether I misspoke in the video, just to clarify 😅 All the best with the art business 😊
Bulgaria is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing these amazing spots, the beggining of summer is sooo green I just love it. I can totally understand why you would dream to buy one of those adorable village houses.
От мене харесването (👍) го имате, но засега абонат няма да Ви ставам, защото видеата с подобна тематика в канала Ви са много малко, и като че ли всички - без това тук - са от равната и добре вчесана и изгладена Дания...
Such a cute and cosy video ! I love the fact that you also show the boring parts that are truely 70% of the work (working on visuals and the website !)
@@forindet maam im interested in knowing about the market for illustrators/visual development. Like for a long term career + books that r needed to b read or any courses to join Tqsm maam once again 🤍
Excellent stickers. I really like the designs. My favourite is the push bike. I always use stickers such as on the front of an art book, a journal etc. Though I’d like one for my soon-to-be lap top (which I’m currently saving for). When I received your Goodie email the other day, I went to purchase a few stickers, but it said for international customers to go through your Etsy store, but when I went in there, there were no stickers being sold. I’ve just checked your link below again, incase they were made available in your Etsy shop, but they still aren’t available. How can people living internationally purchase your stickers? Thank you : )
Oh yes! Thanks for reminding me about that. I've been having a really bad time with Etsy lately, so I've been looking for someone else to use instead, but haven't found anything yet. So, yes I haven't added the stickers to my Etsy shop yet. I'll try to do it by the end of the week while still looking for better solutions 😄
