Hey Guys! This channel will look at my various adventures in DIY guitar pedals, amps and guitar builds. Reviews, demos, and anything else that I might find interesting!
I know this is a long shot but... I'm having the same problem with the distortion on my amp (same model). Do you remember which 2 diodes you replaced to get the distortion back? Any help would be appreciated.
Great video, proving that most Internet "experts" have things either totally wrong, or backwards. Maybe you have done this already, but I would love to see these charts/graphs with different value capacitors on the tone controls. Similarly, I'd love to see charts that graphically illustrate the frequency spectrum & power output of single coil pickups & humbuckers as the number of "turns" of coil wire increases...and as multiple coils are connected in a series vs parallel, or in phase vs out of phase! I would think this is possible, since we can measure the resistance and inductance (&, effectively, amperage, voltage "wattage" output)of different pickups
You mentioned a review video of this build as a cliffhanger ending, which is cheesy by itself, but you also didn't put a link to it for the folks that just invested 27minutes into getting to the point of the video where you mention it.
That isn't flux it's solder, it might have flux mentioned somewhere on the package if it's rosin core, basically some flux imbedded in it so it can be used with our with separate external flux, but that isn't flux which generally comes in liquid or paste forms.
I was wondering what I was doing wrong with the pots, turns out the ones I got have too short of legs and I'll have to add a bunch of jumpers, kinda unfortunate. Thanks for the video
Hi 🎸 Please let me know if the dark lines in the wood of the Pau Ferro fingerboard do not give the impression that the wood is cracking in this place? I'm asking, I'm considering buying (discount) a Fender MIM with a Pau Ferro fingerboard with a very dark line running through it. It looks a bit strange, is it a defect? Regards, nice movie. Andrzej 🇵🇱✊
I know this is an older vid, just found it. The white guard so much better. Confused a little with the treble bleed, reduced pots to get rid of some brightness, then adds treble bleed so doesn't lose any brightness 😂
I would have appreciated more notes and advice about the actual kit components, build difficulty etc. For example, I believe the VHS requires quite a bit of SMDs in the build which actually threw me off for being a first build. I really wanted to build and have that one it was the most appealling on the site to me but I had to look for something else as I had no confidence or idea where to source those types of components.
Dude you know so little you're leading these people astray and youll meet someone that doesnt have a clue what you're saying as its like you learned some jargon but not what it means. You do not know enough to confuse yourself further with a crap scope. These people look up to you man. I was where you are once but realized the more i learned the less i knew. Im humble. Im only trying to help. Im harsh but it doesnt come from a mean place.
i have 3 kits i bought from china at the instructions are not that good any way they do not work ??? when putting the resitors in the bord or any of the componenits is there a direction for the legs to go in to the PCB board i cant figure out why they do not work very frustrating
Aight, next question. Do you know if Tayda only sells center negative DC jacks? I ordered some in the states and I guess they use center positive for most things.
Yup. I hate the look of Pau Ferro. It doesn’t work visually in my opinion. It would be better if Fender (And other high end manufacturers) used Indian Laurel or Ovanhkol on its Mexican guitars. Those woods look much closer to RW and are definitely better than the a streaky mess of Pau Ferro in terms of the crazy grain..
I'm not sure if anyone can answer this but, what is the difference between a 100p and 100pf capacitor. The kit I have came with four of the same and it calls for three 100pf and one 100p, I just don't want to mess anything up.
Learn how to use ohms law and kcl and kvl brother. It's worth the effort. I'd be ashamed to make a video where I didn't design the circuit or reverse engineer it for people and show the simple math involved. You need a calculator but its easy..
1st things 1st: ''remember to like & subscribe''... not a very nice first impression. I've never considered it, did never forget it, you didn't ask so i will not.
Annoyingly they brought back rosewood finger boards on Mexican Fenders now .The pau ferro on my 2019 Vintera 60s Tele is pretty dark and I've grown tp love it .Monty's Montypresso Relic wax darkens them a couple of shades but if anyone wants theirs as dark as rosewood then only a stain will do that but dont forget it will stain your dots too .
I’m listening to you say decal just thinking it’s a word I’ve never heard before since I’ve never made something like this. Then I see you have it written on your wall. Ahhhh. Since I was I a kid growing up in NYC we pronounced that word as “dee-kal”. You are saying “deck-kel”. I just found the different pronunciations amusing. Must be a Canadian v. American thing. Great video. Thanks. I so want to build this pedal and reproduce your decal exactly.
Just a question about how clean the output voltage is , are there any audible artifacts from the switching in the ICL7660 ? I was considering it for a sustain pedal I'd been asked to build , a minimal effects player so he's looking for as clean a sound as possible . It's a doubler or another power supply choice.
