Welcome back to the channel! This is a review of one of my new favorites. It is the Blue Shoe Gai Pan Distortion from PedalPCB. A clone of the JHS PG-14, this distortion is everything you want. Outer controls give you Volume, Tone, and Drive, as well as, 2 Mid Sweep/Boost controls and an extra first stage Gain (Push) control to get even grittier. This pedal has a secret too, watch to find out!

Thanks man. Took about a month off after a blitz at the end of the year. Hoping to get some new ones out starting this weekend. Got some cool Aion and PedalPCB stuff on the horizon

Thanks for doing what you do. Love the circuit walkthroughs especially. (Been staring at the PG-13 and Blue Shoe now for a while myself, but yet to buy/build it. Glad you picked that one for a vid!) As someone getting into diy pedals you have been a great resource in learning how the circuits work! (My one constructive critique would be the audio quality of the guitar demos. Not sure how you have your guitars setup/mic'd for recording, but it doesnt sound right.) Keep these vids coming! 👍

Hey thanks! Not sure what would be wrong with the setup though. I have a shure sm7 off-center and about 3 inches away on my 5f11 amp running into my audiobox interface. No post processing on the recording other than levels. If you have any ideas let me know.

@@pougnetpedals To my ears it sounds like the mic might be a little too far from the amp. Sounds a bit thin where it is now. More bottom end might help.

When I try to buy us the jfets the voltage doesn’t ever go above 4.5 do you know what might be happening?

Nevermind I’m a complete idiot I forgot to solder all of the pins on the I C socket. It works now.

@Danny Darco- that's okay, I built a Ghost Drive and all it did was make a horrible buzzing sound. Very 1st build. Like an asshole, I didn't solder one of the output jack wires to the lug. Duuuuh!!!! It happens lol..
