Praying for Toby’s healing of cancer 🙏next to Merle ,Toby’s my modern day singer favorite,as we are 1 day apart I was born on the 7th ,him on the 8th of 1961 ,and both been married 39 years , I know this is probably 2010 footage ,but that troubadour footage of him and Scotty on the bus playing I take a lot of pride ,and it’s all in the movies ,has to be some of my favorite footage of Merle ❤
Don’t know if you heard or how much social media you see but Toby passed on February 5th of this year. He will be deeply missed RIP TK ❤️ we know “almightys ridin shotgun” but he can finally let Jesus drive a while
Damn, I'm only 10 months behind ya. I don't know if you were ever into Southern Rock, but thought I'd mention, since you're in the right age group, that I found a guy about a year ago on YT. His name is Craig Reed, and he was a roadie & stage manager for Skynyrd who survived the band's plane crash. He lived with Allen Collins, during the Rossington/Collins era, ACB, & into the Skynyrd Tribute days. He does a Podcast, that has musicians, family, & friends of the band, telling cool stories most of us have never heard before. His handle is: "The Stoned Roadie Show" w/Craig Reed, & is for bringing awareness to five of the crew members, who survived the crash with serious injuries, only to find out the management company responsible for paying the crew's insurance premiums, had let their policy lapse. So the proceeds from the bands two already sold out M.S.Garden shows, were played for free, by the other band on the lineup, to benefit the survivors. But later, they discovered that those proceeds, were given to the spouse of a deceased band member, to distribute to the survivors. But no one ever saw those proceeds again. Now those five, still experience medical issues 45yrs later, so Craig gives them any profits from YT subscriptions, and Band memorabilia he periodically auctions off, mostly donated from his own collection. He's on at around 6am M, W, & F, for "Wake and Bake" & the regular podcast, W & sometimes Sat eve. & some Sun mornings for "The Acoustic Jam". Sorry if this isn't your thing, but I was hoping these guys wouldn't mind me mentioning it here, since it's a good cause, & maybe others who are interested might see this & Subscribe.

Nashville's music row can eat dirt because it's country music artists like the late great Merle Haggard who gets the job done......REAL COUNTRY MUSIC! I LOVE YOU MERLE HAGGARD, REST IN PEACE. I so grateful I have many of your recordings to enjoy.
Great rendition! He really captures the old fashioned sound, and also the emotional quality that the great old singers could bring out. A real pleasure.
I wish I could have been there with him, playing & singing with Merle. His music helped me as a teenager. I love Merle. He's riding the blinds on the other side....
