Toyota has leg rests in 2nd row for tall people and for comfortable lounging on rests or long trips . New Odyssey looks tight and shorter like a wagon than the older models. People want head room to move around like a true mini van. I'm sure both are wonderful. Toyota Siena's are hybrids and we have first generation Toyota Avalon hybrid. Ten years driving it and it still drives like a new car. Almost 300,000 miles on it. Awesome traveling car. Very reliable and quiet car.
Not a great demo as a steeper hill you will see a much greater difference between it working well or not Arb4x4 about 15 years ago did a test of lsd, traction control and arb lockers worth looking at
Instead of 9 trim levels, how about 3 trim levels with 3 engine options, turbo four-cylinder, V6 and small V8. SR5 comes loaded and street oriented. TRD Off Road is the current Pro. Limited comes loaded with real leather, 20 wheels HUD. 6 cylinder and V-8 come with sunroof. No other option group needed.
The V6 wasn’t the problem it was the 5 speed transmission that makes it feel slower than what it is. I have a 23 and doesn’t feel sluggish going up a mountain at all.
The power and torque difference are minuscule. People who won’t buy the 4Runner because of power are, not going to buy one now. With a certain 20% MSRP increase, this will be a sales flop. Most Toyotas will have the same engine- Sienna, 4Runner, Tacoma, Highlander, Land Cruiser, RAV4. Too many trim levels, only 3 are needed- SR5, TRD off-road and Limited.
Everything about the 2024 is better than the 2025 except for the eight speed automatic transmission. Toyota is making another colossal foolish ass mistake.
If only they kept the 4.0 v6 and made it a hybrid, MAYBE I'll think about it, with the 8 speed transmission too(cuz power increase from the electric motor), but until then.
Love the styling of the 6th Gen especially that TrailHunter edition! The biggest ding for me is the lack of rear air controls. Wish they would switch to overhead air like the Land Cruiser. Those two small vents coming off the back of the console leave the second row stuffy and if you carry your dog with you in the cargo area it is miserable for them with no air vents. I still am very concerned about price. If the TRD Pro and TrailHunter are anywhere near the price of the TRD Pro Tacoma I think you’ll see a lot of people opt for the similarly priced Land Cruiser with the taller body and offroad capability.
Just picked up a 2024 Limited. It should have a Lexus Badge on it. Best car I have ever driven. It is slow as hell and drinks gas like mad, but I absolutely Love it.
4 cylinder turbos dont belong in a overlander or offroad vehicle. even a street car with turbos needs constant oil changes @ 2500mi if u like ur vehicle . If u dont u get oil dilution. To much tech for me .
you value the most superficial aspects of these vehicles. The 2024 will be more durable and have lower operating costs. who needs a sunroof in a truck like vehicle?
Funny how these guys try to sell you on what they want to. He said The 4Runner 6 cylinder is sluggish, not sluggish to me when I jump on my 2024 nautical blue runner she gets up😂
8 reasons The 4 cylinder engine The 4 cylinder engine The 4 cylinder engine The 4 cylinder engine The 4 cylinder engine The 4 cylinder engine The 4 cylinder engine The 4 cylinder engine
Here is a reason, the engine will go the way of the Tundra… Toyota believes it’s the fancy gadgets that make people want to buy a Toyota, NO… it was Toyota’s reliability that sold them not some gadgets
That’s why I bought the last dinosaur 4.0 NA 2024 trd off road premium…look at their new tundra tons of recall engine 3.5 turbo, they missed up with that reliable 5.6 v8..to add the new price of this is ridiculous…not only expensive but not reliable
It sure beats those four poppers that they're over selling in price. Let's see how well they'll be doing in 5 to 10 years, I'll put my wages on the Honda.
I'll give you ONE I'll never buy a 4RUNNER or the Tacoma and Tundra. I will not let Toyota rip me off. I bought a 2024 Frontier Pro-X for 8000 dollars cheaper than the 52,000 dollar TRD off road. It's a V6!!!
My 2007 Nissan Altima is on its way out so I'm now looking at getting one of these. Thanks for your overview. I'll see about test drives next week. Wish me luck...
My question is: Does the Toyota Corolla with a manual transmission have a sportier performance vs the CVT transmissions in the Corollas...?? I want to buy a Toyota Corolla with a manual Transmission, but Toyota stopped making the Corollas available with a manual. So, I need to find a used 2020 to 2023 Corolla with a 6-speed Transmission. My very first car was a 1982 Toyota SR5 PU with a manual transmission. Here on RU-vid and with Google searches, people say that the Corolla manual transmission has better performance vs the CVT.... What's your advice and experiences with your Corolla..?? When you drove a Corolla with the CVT which one felt like it had more power.?? Which one has better performance, and feels more spirited when you drive it...? I drive all over California and I also drive up to the mountains to go snow skiing. I feel that a CVT transmission will not be as strong in the mountains. What do you think..??
