@@MidknightMechanics There's a tube with a vent valve solenoid that fails requiring super charger removal. Something like this. With a white solenoid not black like the purge solenoid. W0133-3169767
Had worries that my alternator was bad. And we noticed that the alternator was not spinning even though the engine was running and the battery needed charge. You could twist that coupler belt freely as well. Was getting low 12's high 11's volts after it was fully charged and was running. After seeing your explanation of that bolt holding the other gear in place coming lose we unboltrd the alternator, finally pulled it free and found that bolt was so loose we just back it out by hand. Put some lock tight on it and cranked it back down put the alternator back on and the alternator is now back to charging. We were able to do all this without removing the air intake thankfully as what a headache that would have been. I do not think you can replace the alternator this way but you can unbolt and slide it out of the way to tighten the bolt that comes loose. Just took a long time to figure out how to remove the alternator after getting all the bolts off. The bottom two bolts have a sorta flange that sits inside the frame mount. So you have to pull and twist rather than just slide out.
I have a 2014 Ford Escape Titanium for my daughters and it is having the same stalling issue and the check engine light flashes. If you restart the car or drive it for a little longer, it goes away. I will have to check this wiring, but it may be a misfire caused by the fuel pump or fuel filter. Not sure if it shows up on a Machine. According to the website you mentioned, it does not fall under this recall.
This pipe is such a common break. Mine just went. Im in there now. Hell of a pain to remove fully from the rear. Not enough videos showing this or actual removal from the special clip hidden in the rear.
@@showalterfamilylights yes. The screw is obviously annoying. Use smallest torx u can, probably buy a tiny one. I did. Also, pull the breather house that goes to pvc and valve covers, you'll need to in order to even see where that hose goes. (Look up vids to find tricks to pop em off. I cut a little hose clamp and slid it under the clips). The pipe connects into a soft hose with those metal clips used all over the other coolant lines. Use a pick to just pull the clip then pull hose out. Replace this whole pipe and the pcv, your already all the way there.
Video is very helpful. I got the dreaded light on my 2007 XC90 but I can see the belt you mentioned spinning. Could it still be the same problem with the loose bolt? I'm seeing very big voltage spikes when the car is running.
The factory alternators take about 160-200Kmi to wear out, so if you are no where near that mileage- yep, i guarantee its that bolt that's come loose. You should watch the belt closely and see if you can see it changing speeds or skipping around. But you'll have to not drive the car because it's very risky until you've fixed it.
@@MidknightMechanics I'm tackling looking at the bolt today and will let you know. I haven't been driving it and it's at 138k miles currently. Really appreciate this video and the response!
Wow! I've seen the the water pump and t-stat done without even been in service mode. Now you got me concerned after I ordered water pump, t-stat, belts, etc. I will remove the supercharger, but also my PCV body needs replacing. That will have to be another day. How much coolant did you lose/replace?
All I gotta say is… them new ford vehicles are nothing but garbage, too many electronic bs, might as well be electric vehicles all the way. One sensors throws the vehicle into being worthless 😡
3.0tfsi are notorious for coolant leak if there is a coolant leak its probably pcv also known as crankcase breather and thermostat housing can leak too or the water if one of them leaks i recommend doing all three because around 100k miles all of them would leak the crossover pipe breaks just be ready and the coolant pipe above the pcv also know as crankcase breather would break too but i got lucky it didnt break but you can do this at home intermediate level of work but the engine actually pretty strong timing chains are really good on these engines just change your oil every 4k miles if its the dct transmission is perfect strong af. Never had a problem other than coolant issue
Thankyou so much for this video , iv been trying to figure that out on my wifes 2019 pathfinder , it has close to 60k miles , and it was mystery , everything is tight i just couldnt figure it out , thanks so much !
Would you get splatter on the hoses due to the leak?? I’ve been noticing white splatter marks on some hoses due to the leak landing on the belts while the car is on? Would you recommend just replacing the oil separator unit while I’m there??
This one in particular did not create splatter but that was just good luck i guess. This one had a small stream that ran down the front of the engine case. I would definitely replace that PCV; Even if it's early in your service interval. I think it's an every-70Kmi service item.... Thanks to direct injection.
@@MidknightMechanics I appreciate your response. I’ve notice some splatter marks and the smell of coolant. So I’m due for this repair and I figured I’d replace the PCV while I was at it. I’m at 84k miles currently on my 2014 Audi A6 so I’m going to get this done soon. Thank you!
Another question, how long would you say it took you to replace that hose? Do you think with replacing the PCV valve also it would be a 4 to 5 hour job?
Amazing Video! I am dealing with something similar and about to take the supercharger off as I can't pin point it. I assumed water pump as it leaks badly as soon as I pressure test it behind the pump, but it appears to be coolant leaking from just above the water pump everything about my water pump is dry. I am thinking it is this return pipe or the coolant cross over pipe, did you have a hard leak as well? Thanks
Ive just gone to nissan genuine parts and got the exact same relay switch, prior to this i got the mechanic to scan it and it came up with the brake light switch as an error , so we changed it to a brand new one and off i went, but not lont after the brake lights still stayed on and the car would struggle to accelerate. I came across this video and went back and got a replacement Relay switch this time, Will let you guys know how i go. Cheers
Thank you SO MUCH for doing this video! I have a 2016 Ford Escape Titanium EcoBoost. It's been doing CRAZY stuff like door locking & unlocking multiple times and hazard lights flashing at the same time, then sometimes my fuel pump will start making whining noise! My daughter calls it Gremlins in the car! It's so random. TWICE it has completely died going down the road at 50mph plus! And once or twice chugging but not dying. TWICE I've had it towed to the dealership (extended warranty) and they can't find anything wrong with it because it won't "throw a code". Heaven forbid they actually try to figure it out without a computer!! My car has been in the shop for 5 days now with no result. I've told them and told them it has to be something electrical because of all the Gremlins going off at the same time. I bought it used in 2021 from a major dealership with low miles. Have had no problems until the last year with this. Also went through a car wash recently and drove away and it immediately started all the chugging again but didn't die. Then later it was fine. I feel like it got moisture in the wires somewhere that are maybe rubbed like your video. I'm LITERALLY going to show them this video!! Then if it is the problem, I'm going to ask to be paid labor for my efforts! Lol! Ridiculous! It's so dangerous for us to keep riding in this vehicle with this issue! Last time my daughter thought the car was catching fire and scared us both half to death! I've learned my lesson about Fords!!
Right on. I paid yesterday and it’s not on yet and getting cold. F em I do t owe now so they have a couple of hours but not going through night again like this. Thanks brother 👊🏻
WTHeck? There are NO breakers in the meter can! Or, if you followed this video to cut off power to the panel, well, next time turn on the main breakers, then test the power is off. And, also if you followed this video, you're lucky you did not get electrocuted. EDIT That has to be a hoax OP.
You sound like an idiot. This is the only video I can find on the internet on replacing your meter yourself and you sound so much like an idiot with that "Der, Der" crap I can't have any confidence that you know what you are doing.
Hello I have a 2013 escape my car has a weird situation going on the car will drive fine for a few miles then when coming to a complete stop the accelerator will feel like there's no power to the pedal. What could this possibly be?
