i think microsoft should make a windows system on a chip for those d.i.yers who dont want a clunky box it could also maybe be yoused in offices to reduce cost
i use windows 11 and while windows is way better than other market leaders but a lot of things in window that iss unneeded like did you know internet explorer is still in windows you still have ieinstall.exe
I think the Windows Phone UI was ahead of it's time, way ahead, people aren't used to it yet, so they tend to use the one they already understand (stack grids of icons) but one-by-one Windows Phone UI were integrated to the current Android and iOS' UI, the material you, iOS widgets, and big typography layouts the main reason it failed was because Android and iOS was so dominant, it crushed the WP so easily, made Microsoft has to follow what people wants, getting rid of it and create something people already similar with I still missed my Lumia so much, now I'm using an Android with a WP launcher lol. if Microsoft ever bring WP back, I would gladly move back to them 💔
I had a Windows phone and when I showed the tiles function to friends they thought it was great, they liked the Friends function (or whatever it was called) that collected their updates across email/text/social media, they wanted the feature for themselves. Then when I explained how few apps were available for the phone and it killed their interest in the phone and eventually it caused me to switch to Android.
microsoft didn’t have the balls to stick to there beliefs, that is why. they may have the best idea but still a corporation that will follow primarily the money now instead of the betting on conviction which they needed on their mobile OS
It won't end here. Europe will fall eventually. Instead of European leaders to focus on developing their economies, they are busy helping US warmongering defense companies to get richer. Europe haz become and American slave territory.
How to win everyone back: Polish Windows, using Windows 7 as a base. No bloatware, easy to navigate, and easy to personalize. Intuitive in design and overall more polished than previous renditions Innovate instead of jumping into unknown areas or fads. We don't care who wins the race. We care about who makes the best product.
I really don't know what I'm gonna do when 10s support ends. 11 right now is such an utter garbage OS I hate it so much. I fucking wish that anticheats on linux worked for games then it would be a no question for me to change.
Microsoft can't be something that it's not . Copying other companies innovations - I'm surprised that they haven't been sued. Back in the days of windows 7 Microsoft had 2 excellent programs that caught my attention. 1-Windows sound recorder and 2- Windows DVD Creator - Things of this nature microsoft should of kept in there OS but what did they do... threw them away. Now they are implementing software where people are getting very upset because of the way microsoft is rolling it out Called Recall where things and events of what people are doing on there computers is being recorded and blocking out the ability to create a local account. This in tern is where the public is losing its tolerance with the company to being able to trust it. Go to Britec09 channel here on youtube and listen to Brian a wonderful instructor and teacher who shares great knowledge on how to do things safely and teaches wise ways to get things done We owe a lot of gratitude and thanks to Brian who does Excellent work that is just superior!!! I had to move to Linux because of the driver issue of windows 10 and problem after problem - I finally got fed up with it. I've been watching microsoft through what other people have been saying and I'd say Micro is stuck on ice spinning its wheels and breaking stuff copying others and not being themselves. absolutely Shameful micro people absolutely shameful ....
It’s the lack of availability of a lot of the most popular and critical apps that doomed the OS. And it is all Microsoft’s doing for failing to attract developers, and in fact, discouraging them.
AI is a bubble waiting to burst, it's so fucking silly, minus all the biggest-data-theft-ever deal. Its honestly the biggest reason why i want to avoid windows 11 as much as i can and switched to Linux recently.
"recovering fan of Windows Phone" really hurts... 😢 Windows Phone! It's unique approach to UI elements fully justifies to be spreaded inside Nokia's hardware design... their tv commercials, Nokia remix ringtones... everything! It's a feel that required no other "innovation" like small spec jumps of today's market. Not wanted to say that it was ahead of its time bcoz, there were people to appreciate that aesthetics. But today's congested world has no time to love those things...
1:18 Apple doesn't seem as much into layoffs as much sort of redirection: don't fire good employees, put them to work elsewhere in the company - whoever worked in Siri is clearly working on Vision Pro now
Dude, I've said it before, but one more time. You do some of the coolest videos. So often an interesting take on something, unlike the same video created 100 times by others. Appreciate it.
I didn't mind the Live Titles. But I always disliked the UWP Apps themselves. The UI was always so basic/plain and had many missing features compared to the full Desktop App or Website Version. Which made it hugely frustrating to use when and I wanted to do something and couldn't.
Hmm what your missing from your initial stats is the fact that the used PC market is booming, whereas most apple users tend to end up buying a new machine as they are nearly impossible to update and or repair. I personally buy used corporate workstations I have bought 10 used Windows PCs & Laptops in as many years. The only apple product I have bought is a brand new Macbook Air M1 which I went wow and then didn't use it, as all of my apps were Window based. I totally agree with the many ways in which MS constantly shoots itself in the foot!
You can have weather widgets, calendar widgets, news widgets, and media-playing widgets (and probably others) on Android and iOS that show live data. So I don't think this was even that unique. Having never used a Windows phone, I'm not sure what the selling point of this was. That said, I still miss Google Gadgets and the Microsoft's equivalent.
I have loved all my Windows Phones. I feel the Live Tiles were masterful. It provided a clean informative Home Page. Those Lumia phones were superb in capturing pictures and recording audio. Windows 8 was superb for tablets. Microsoft's big mistake is pushing a touch or mobile UX onto a keyboard and mouse pc with Windows 8 and the Windows 11 Start. To push the same Windows on every form factor is the dumbest they continue doing. On mobile touch devices we should have had Live OS, instead of some version of Windows. Live used to be a good brand at the time.
