Got my 2020 two years ago, after having had two Speed Triple (last one a '17 R). Three 1050 in a row...and I still don't feel the need of trying something else. What an engine. I am sure that I will try something different in the future, but the Tiger will remain in my garage. With this bike you won't miss anything!
Great series. It really adds a little to the day when you can beat the Road Closed signs. I had a similar stroke of luck in the Cairngorms when I suddenly realised the road I was heading towards was due to close for the day at 9.30am. A quick look at the sat nav and the clock, 12 miles and 9.10am, E Zee. Made it through in company with a local in a little white van who was on the same mission I was, brilliant fun. Looking forward to the next episode.
Really enjoying this series. I’ve watched quite a few people do this route recently, but I prefer how you focus on filming the joy of riding rather than faffin’ around with drones etc. I’m an expat too, so looking forward to the next episode in my homeland.
Especially in Cambridge….ignore red lights, pedestrian crossings, ride 2/3 abreast, go wrong way up one way streets, aggressive shouting at any other road user, ride on the road even when there is a good cycleway……etc
Not sure why but it seems YT has decided not to notify me of your videos, so I'm playing 'catch up'. Nice to see the sun come out, hope it stays that way. 👍 Scenery always looks so much nicer to me ( especially on video) when the sun is shining.
Excellent series buddy, i test rode a tiger today and loved it. I think it's definitely going to be a buy. We only live once. Keep up the cracking videos
What's the max payload per box you reckon? I've got the 2018 800 XCA that came stock with the Triumph cases, but max is only 5kg per box. Guess it's because the parts that holds the panniers onto the racks is some hard plastic compound and not metal like your one's.
15 years ago was the last time myself and my wife drove up the healy pass in a 2002 daihatsu terrios,,we decided to go up as fast as possible, that little terrios with rear wheel drive was like a rally mini.no traffic the same day,the whole mountain to ourselves. Next time soon will be on a motorbike. Enjoyed your video immensely. Michael.
Only just recently found your channel loving the videos. My lad took delivery of a Tiger 900 gt pro yesterday and I can’t make up my mind whether to go 900 or 1200 or go Gt explorer or Rally Explorer so the review you are going to do I will be watching for sure.
Glad you found it, and thanks for dropping a comment! The Tiger 900 is also a very capable bike. I think the explorer is way too big, and I've no need for a 30 litre tank.
Ah, you see, the trouble with the Garmin was you only set the route once. You needed to do it three times. To be sure, to be sure, to be sure. You’re welcome. Great series!!
Great video but you missed some of the best scenery, Sky Road in Clifden, the Cleggan and Renvyle peninsulas. And more. You passed through my village, wasn't on the video, but you had to.
Another great vid stunning views Shaun look forward to your tiger 1200 review I’ve it’s baby brother the 900 been tour Spain and Portugal on it great bike 👍
Also, a very capable bike! Think if green lanning was legal here in Germany, I'd probably have gone with the 900, as I'm sure it's better off road than the 1200.
Those limits will never come into law in Ireland, the limits we have aren't really enforced anyway except for the 'Go safe' revenue collector vans sitting in 30 kmph zones near towns. Great video, well put together, just resting up after a trip myself, you don't realise it on the road until you decompress at home just how tiring the roads can be.
Sounds like you’re loving the bike. I recently traded a Gen 1 XR for a Gen 2 and the seat on the Gen 2 is awful. You slide into the tank and it’s no way near as comfortable as my hip sport seat on the Gen 1. I’ve fitted a Wunderlich Aktivkomfort seat and it’s totally sorted and all day comfortable…
I also had the gen 1 and 2, but that bike broke me in the end. Initially the sculptured seat feels nice to sit in, but it prevents you from moving about on the seat, which is awful for longer trips. Apparently that's been sorted on the new XR, but I won't be trying that. Adventure bikes for the win👍😜
Always well put together and an enjoyable watch. However, this is the first ride on this road trip that I've thought yes, I'd like to be there. Lovely roads and scenery.
Another great vid Shaun you always put together a great vid with some great music and still photos 👍🏻 it does look a lot like Scotland absolutely stunning scenery 👍🏻 ride safe Shaun from us Guys 🏍️💨💨💨
@@thelikeablerider8800 cheers Shaun yes we are both ok thanks👍🏻 just keep waiting for the summer to start 🤣🤣🏍️🏍️💨💨💨 take care buddy and have fun 🏍️💨💨👍🏻
I've just driven the WC of Ireland.....3 weeks ago approx late august 2024. Weather is problematic and don't assume a corner is going to be clear. I saw a fully loaded gs1250 get blown off its sidestand on the Cliffs of Moyer road. It was blowing a hurricane. The rider was from France and the bike had no engine guards. Only cosmetic damage fortunately.
Yes I can imagine it's a whole other experience if the weather doesn't play the game. Luckily I only had rain the first few days, but still enjoyed the ride non the less. It's all part of the adventure🤘🇨🇮
It’s hard to relate to people how it gets better all the way . Weather Gods smiled on you this time . Fantastic trip . Love the music. Better than Bagpipes. Might watch with a rockin sound track . Thanks for your hard work editing . One of the best I’ve seen . Bravo 👏
