Generating codes and actually doing a proper diagnostics are not the same thing. You can take days to diag some issues. As I’m sure you know Sam. How many times have you half ripped a car apart to find an issue
Nice! Well done for taking a punt, even though as you said it is slightly below market price. These cars are a good second hand car vs Merc/BMW/Audi equivalents. These makes are expensive at this age to service and maintain, WAY more than the Tesla. I have been there and got rid of my 8 year old Audi A4 S line quattro 3l turbo diesel coz it was started to cost heaps! I loved that car! I bought a Tesla M3, even more love now.. Model S are a super cool and luxurious car, heaps of tech, 100% updated software, reliable with good range left and cheap on 2nd hand car market. Most come with free supercharging. People stay away coz they are scared and the low prices reflect that. Good. Buy it, use for 3 years, should be reliable and then parts value at least. Great ride in the meantime.
Why in the world wouldn't you just drop the tank and clean it properly? You want to shoot all that sludge through the TBI/Injectors, etc? Talk about making a bad situation worse.
You have to check transmission fluid with the engine running and after shifting it through the gears a few times. Car sitting for god knows how long is not a good way to measure trans fluid... come on man.....
It's not recommended to clean platinum/iridium plugs. Depending on how you do it, you're very likely to remove the plating, affecting the performance of the plug.
I am 73. I am not against EV's at all. And they are the future. However, so much easier for me just to fill up with gas and never worry about where I can charge up. I will stay with gas likely for the rest of my life.
Sam you are absolutely correct that repair cost ev vs simlar performance ice car. People don't understand that.. only compare sheap regular cars repair cost..
