A huge passion of mine is aquariums and aquatics in general. On this channel you will see video of my tanks, aquascaping, fish store footage, diy tips, reviews of products, fish room visits, fishing, and more! I hope you enjoy my journey!
@@AquatikGuru it started to happen in the 2nd week, I do clean the diffuser, got it out cleaned it very well and in the next day it was full of that kind of mold again. I'm guessing it has something to do with the yeast getting through somehow like in a normal DIY system where we need a bottle with water.. Otherwise the system is working great... Gonna try adding a bubble counter to simulate that 2nd bottle
I’m planning to set up same shallow tank and I’m trying to see what filter should I use and I came across your video. Any pictures of the canister set up in the tank and what do you think about the filter in that tank?
I no longer have pictures of this setup. I do have a few update videos in between videos like this that may show you what you are looking for. The canister was great for it a lil bit high on flow from what I wanted but at the same time it worked great. I eventually had a friend custom make a 3D printed spray bar and that solved my problem.
Yes that’s exactly what I grew it in. But I would recommend co2 highly even if it’s something like the aquario neo diy co2 kit I used and made videos of
I never saw anything in any of my aquariums until I watched a video about these worms and now I saw something on my one aquarium. They're not linear... They just look like little tiny white specks that are moving. Is that planaria that just hasn't grown yet or is it something else if it's not linear? I got an aquarium sponge on a handle and just wiped the glass. I'm sure it didn't get rid of them. If these are not planaria do you know what they are and how to get rid of them?
My husband bought me this big rectangular hair grass that was attached to a mat. It's just laying on top of my river rock in my aquarium. There's a little green on it a lot of its brown and I have used plant food. Should I take it off of the mat and plant it into the river rock?
Nice looking tank. Now i want to get one. Did you know Bettas need a heater? And they are jumpers? The tank needs a lid for Bettas. And you forgot to remove and rinse the filter before installing. Other than that...😂
That’s weird…mine never jumped, never needed a heater, I rinsed the filter in another tanks water from a water change fyi, but you know, I’m used to know it alls coming on here and putting regulations on everything everyone does. Thanks for the advice, but if you don’t have anything positive to say, this is not the channel you want to reply to.
If you knew my channel, which you clearly don’t, you’d know that I tested theory’s as part of my scheme. And proved almost all the social media aquariums harassers such as yourself that what you know and were taught is BS. Fish live in rivers, lakes, streams etc where dynamics change daily. Relax
Fluval bug bites gives your tanks planaria. A short time after I purchased three different varieties and feeding them to certain tanks those tanks had outbreaks of planaria. I’m here now relaying a test I done with six twelve litre tanks with four receiving three products of fluval bug bites. Their tropical formula medium/large grain tropical formula small grain and bottom feeder formula. Those four tanks that had fluval products after three months had planaria. The other two were fed with what I was using before and nothing other than seed shrimp visible. Now I could’ve made a first time purchase of something and one if not all three items were a bad batch but I won’t be using those products again or testing to see which one. My experience and advice on fluval bug bites is don’t use it unless you’re ok with planaria. Having to get rid of them got rid of much of the other beneficial micro life which I could luckily reintroduce from other tanks through water and items sat in a healthy matured tank being moved to the the nuked tank. For eradication I used another method I use for complete annihilation in quarantine tanks and that was panacur c dog dewormer in powder form. Before that it was copper which would’nt have been able to go in anything with shrimp and fish. Panacur c can also avoid harming snails at low doses too. Partly why I use it over other products I’ve never tried for reasons such as what I’m saying right now.
Fortunately I never had this problem with bug bites. Mine were directly linked to a plant supplier. Luckily I caught it before it caused issues. In my fish only tanks that I feed TONS of big bites I never found planaria.
After you started the new tank I didn’t see you condition the water let alone put heater in to warm the water right from a hose. Esp for betta’s that requires warm water…? Was this something you did immediately after the video?
Yes due to a move unfortunately we had to stop all the aquariums. It was a sad day but I got to spread a ton of knowledge and I’m still here daily responding to people who ask any questions they may have. I didn’t want to stop. But the landlord changed the rules of the lease due to a few altercations with other residents on leaking and broken tanks that they removed them from eligibility.
@aryangurung2343 I would love to come back! Unfortunately I don’t have the space indoors to feed the channel :( the only way I could get back on video is fixing cars currently
When were you able to add snails back to the tank? I’ve got nerites and I’m reading personal account wherein people added them back months later and they still died :/
I never did add them back in that exact setup. I removed the shrimp. Quarantined them in a separate tank. Same with the snails. Quarantined the plants with planaria traps to catch any leftovers. Put most the plants in my platy tank so they’d just eat all the planaria. Removed losses as needed that were already infested with planaria. Cleaned entire tank. Replaced filters and everything else in there and re introduced all the survivors .
@@AquatikGuru Thank you for explaining your process!! According to the no-planaria packet, it is shrimp and plant safe, did you quarantine them just to be on the safe side or to avoid them experiencing an ammonia spike after the planaria died off?
@Midnightwolf1333 yea it was just to be safe cuz I had so many didn’t wanna total population crash cuz even tho they say it’s plant safe they wouldn’t have paid for all the shrimp losses
Hey there..I don't know what to do in... So here it goes..., I was feeding my betta "flakes" & one landed on his eye & wont come off .. Should I remove it, or just let it be?¿
@@AquatikGuru thanks! Ordered it, i like how simple it is, i have a 112l tank with decent surface agitation, so i don't think that not being able to turn it off during the night will be an issue.
Absolutely not. The bleach will absorb into the rock and leach into the tank. Best way to clean rocks is simply with water and a scrub brush. Boiling rocks is also unnecessary. I use the garden hose or a pressure washer. Some aquarium stones like dragon stone I leave the dirt in the stone so I don’t clean those at all. I’ve learned that the most important part, is knowing where the rocks came from.
Does boiling the leaves not extract all the tannins and beneficial stuff from them making the leaves not do anything? which means you could use the extract/tea? or am i wrong will it still release tannins and get the benefits from the leaves?.
You’re not trying to boil them for a long period of time. More like a flash boil just to kill any potentially harmful concerns with the leaves or wood such as bugs, pesticides, chemicals. It more so just takes out some risk factors for comfort that you aren’t gonna lose your fish. It doesn’t seem horrible but when you gotta rare fish or lots of fish it adds up quick and can be a devastating loss. Our goal isn’t to make a pretty tank. It’s to keep fish alive IN a pretty tank right? You can still use the tea leftover as well. Again, the boiling just kills and dilutes any possible threats from the botanicals.
@@AquatikGurugotchu thanks for the info i recently added indian almond leaf to my tank from a brand called matchimaa to my betta tank i rinsed it pretty well before adding in know not as good as boiling for getting rid of an dangers. But its been almost 48 hours in the tank it has really even released any tannins idk how long that would take first time using them. Maybe next time ill just boil and ad some of the tea instead
@lif3l3ssgaming sometimes it takes days or weeks for the leaves to break down enough to create the tannins. Tannins are just rotting wood, leaves, and organic matter
