Are there any sprinklers in particular that you'd like to see in operation in a future video? I'm always looking for new ideas and suggestions from others in the community for what they'd like to see in the videos I put out. I have sooo many different sprinklers in my collection to date that still haven't made a proper debut in front of the camera yet, and it can be rather difficult at times for me to choose where to start on my own, lol!
Very nicely done video. I like when people like you guys share your knowledge of sirens with other enthusiast because this will help them to be able to maintain their sirens and keep them running for years to come. Keep up the great work with these excellent videos.
Cadillac of sirens. Lansing,MI had these after, what many think might have been 1 of the Chrysler, Hemi powered sirens . They had them all over the City.
i got one of these for myself finally! it needs bearings, doesnt rotate and needs stops. 1.56" ring nozzle on it. Im also going to take it to the T-L dealer and have them get the ring nozzle off and install a 1.05" taper bore on it.
I just bought one of these largely by mistake. I could sure use some information. Most of all, what size pump is the minimum a man can use to work this rig ?
AFAIK depending on nozzle size, the minimum requirement by Nelson's spec sheet for a 1.05" Taper nozzle is 60PSI and 250GPM. You'd more than likely need a PTO or electric pump and a cart and at least 4" hose to run one of these. I have a P200 myself but I got mine running by using a fender washer (mine had a 1.56" ring nozzle originally) that has a much smaller opening than the smallest nozzle recommended by Nelson. I use 2 transfer pumps in series (Pacer SE2UL E950s) with 2 " hard hose in and out. I do not have a cart, I do have a tripod with a 2" input that i used a flange to NPT adapter on and it runs decently, not like these (pretty sure they're using a high output ag pump). IT does reverse too, although slower than these (it doesn't stall out). It gets about 2 acers of a 5 acre field. If i had a much bigger pump and a cart (something capable of 60 or more PSI and 600GPM output) I could install the original nozzle which was 1.56" and Then you'd really see it come to life. Someday I will have this!
