Jack Frisbee, the other side of paradise. From paradise, to a cell in Halawa state prison then to OCCC when it was regarded the most violent prison in the United States.
Jack, a veteran of organized crime in Hawaii, managed to survive 25 years in the system.
A childhood of pure viciousness and abuse, he managed to survive. He’s truly a legend and is ready to talk story.
#theothersideofparadise
Jack, who is now on the other side of paradise, has found his true kuleana; and that’s working with the keiki.
..."thought OCCC was old Halawa jail? state lock-up in Kalihi? anyhow did 30 days👉Ewa cellblock no problemos 👉couldn't help but show respect when your neighbors are Pokini gang😅
I remember reading about an asian prisoner in the 50's nick-named *"Bad Boy" something,* Hoshino I think? forgot his last name. Before your time Jack? Any older guys remember?
This was amazing I listened to every word so intently.many years ago I made a friend while just starting construction.we have been friends for over 30 yrs. He told me about him being locked up for 10 yrs.He spoke of you Mr.Frisbee with a reverence that amazed me.He spoke highly of you and a few others.Wishing you continued Blessings and Success Aloha
Back in the 50s I remember this one guy used to escape from Oahu prison. The Oahu prison was in Kalihi. I forgot his name but this was before the halawa prison was built.
I remember the riot...they where using dumbells to break through the glass.. Friend was in the Guard and was called out.. Told me he was fully armed and was still in fear.. Said they had to get permission from the bull of the module before entering.. Told me the big guys are in there.. They had to duck under the door
We went to school with Lava and Jed, and l remember Peter pounding his sounds from his blue dodge dart when we used to kickback at Kalihi Uka school... Thats back when all the older Valley Boys used to hangout at the store across from the school... Yup
Anyone relate to being embarrassed to be alive ? I mean I was raised with so much shame that my very being is embarrassing. I have made poor decisions as well and unable to break away from the negative programming. Just more kindling for the fire for the inner critic Weeks away from turning 60 so I am work out and need modality that will work. So far many have not and neither have meds. Western medicine offers appalling solutions to this issue. I'm at a loss here
@@theothersideofparadisejack6373 Jack was he was nuts in his younger days. sounds like he could beef too. These were the real tough guys. The guys nowadays are not as hard.
I’ll get Kupuna on here but nuts is not true. He was fearless, tough, and didn’t take shit. If that’s nuts, you might be right. This is the first time I’ve heard anyone use that word to describe him. Also, he should have been more nuts given his upbringing. As a kid, he had a tough ass road! Then to spend that much time in the hole at Halawa, shit I’m always amazed at how tough he STILL is! Thanks for checking us out!!! If you know him, reach out to him. 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Blessings and Shalom Brother 🙏 I too spent some time in the Prison System. I became a Law Clerk and helped many from within who were wrongly accused. I came to understand that The Bible and Law worked hand in hand. Took my last Federal Case to 8th Circuit of Appeals. I did all the Paper Work, but only by Yah's Grace did I walk out a Winner. Phillips Vs. Jasper County Jail. Went to spend My 50th Birthday at Pearl Harbor. Spent a few months at Nanakuli? If I spelt that right??? Smiles 😂 I was the only Howlie they let stay!!! Kept everybody Happy and Laughing!!! Thanks for Sharing your ride Brother 👍 May Yah's Blessings, Prayers and Shalom for you and your Family 🙏🙏🙏👍😎🤠😀
If I even had the thought of abusing my wife whether it be physical abuse, mental abuse, etcetera both my biological dad and stepdad would whoop the $hit out of me. I was in the army for 7 years and never did understand the guys who would beat up on and cheat on their wives. Most of the ones I spoke to about it would tell me thats how their dads and or their moms boyfriends would treat their mom.
Aloha Hawaiian! I came across this series of videos, and that sparked my interest . I would like to start off by giving my aloha and mahalo for sharing your experience and perseverance through life but I would also give my appreciation for vocalizing the days before … a wonderful time when people knew there place and others knew when to keep there mouth shut. It was a time when “Hawaiian” still really held such a powerful spot in the hierarchy of society times have surely changed but ,my many thanks and blessings for such great content . Allthaway from kalapana hawaii Ko’u mahalo a me ko’u ho’maikai
I Heard Some Crazy Crazy Stories About The Old Oahu Prison Between The Locals And Samoans ! Going So Far As Removing Someone’s Head And Sticking It On The Teather Pole
OCCC isn’t bad. I’m a white boy was in there I saw nothing but respect for me and I respected them. Taught some guys some push up (8 count body builders) and abs training I did in USMC Force Recon in yard working out which they all appreciated ,never once did anyone try me. You keep your head down take no shit and respect your fellow man. Never accept a “gift” never borrow anything and never back down. Guards were very professional, they didn’t play and same rules applied. The guys getting punked were the druggies who were still trying to get high in there. They got used up like dishrags. Lived in Hawaii 12 years if you got balls and courage and care about people the color of your skin don’t matter. Best people anywhere.
@@terryduffield5860 my editor is green on the specifics, he's a great man, hard worker. By 2016, so much had changed. From the 70's through the 90's, hard core stuff. My videos only tell part of the story and the experience. I did 10 years in the hole at Halawa...
Wow, unreal you wen hustle on your own and vindicated yourself from the unjust! 🤙Judge Kaulukukui was my teacher & coach at Kailua High in da’ 70’s. I gotta say, he looked out, especially for da ho’opa’akiki kids from da’ Waimanalo homestead, making sure dey no fkup, keeping us lōlō’s in check! Couple hit & misses, but mahalo to him, we all came out pretty good! 🤙❤️
I grew up boxing in waimanalo and than waianae boxing club, went in and out of jail many times. On my last outing to jail I swear I lasted not even 10 minutes before I got into an altercation with another inmate. He kept eyeing me up from the get go, so I walked up to Braddah than boom bong, Braddah went hospital. But I commend him for playing it solid and not being a snitch, braddah went to the hospital with a broken cheek bone n said he walked into the bunk.
@@theothersideofparadisejack6373 that was my oldest sister's father unlaw. My sister was married to his son scotty key. Mahalo unko, stay blessed aloha.
I'm so glad my tita Kimmie said to check this out. I was fascinated, the things Mr. Frisbee had been through. Everyone has a story. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
