Thanks for your review. I find that enclosures that follow this design with a hollow metal shell with plastic internals produces a lot of echo from noisy drives. If the docking trays have no rubber or something else to act as vibration compensation, you will have a really loud enclosure.
@5:03 if you're looking to upgrade it, you could base the tower on something like a lazy susan turntable, then connect in a small solar panel to a high torque low revs motor and gear it into the lazy susan so it slowly rotates the tower as the sun is shining. Could be a future future future upgrade but worth a thought.
@19:31 Fingers fingers move your fingers!!!!!! Ah man if the drill jumped or slipped you were in for a hospital visit! Great video anyway, very expandable too. If you had a nice sized pond you could have a number of the towers around it with strawberries, herbs, salad leaves, nice flowers etc. If there's fish in the pond then their poop could help fertilize the tower feed water too like vertical aquaponics.
@@jeffreyb9613 They should. I used 4” PVC caps and drilled holes in them for the pipes. The heating of the PVC may warp the tops of the pipe a bit, but they still fit fine
@@ChrisLoh Chris, thanks for the reply. I may have picked up the wrong cap. I am currently building your four tower system but with longer legs for more water storage.
Ok so I used the wrong 4in pvc pipe. You used sewer and drainage pipe and cut the flange off. I didn't see you do that in the vid so I bought the 4in schedule 40 so the cap will not fit as the pipe is wider. No turning back now since the base is made out of schedule 40.
Pipe from pump is 1/2" not 1.5". Question, couldn't you just use a 1.5" pipe to make the pod holders, so you don't have to put a 2" ring inside of each hole before dropping in the pods.
I hope you didn't lie about it sounding good, right now it's ~22 USD on Aliexpress, still I hope that's not going to be wasted money. and I would prefer if they were covered with mesh fabric instead of fake leather but the earpads look like they can be replaced unless they use some unusual plastic clips
just arrived, they do sound good in wireless mode with strong bass, unfortunately they require quite a bit of EQ in wired mode - too much mids and too little highs. also I have no idea how the earpads are held in place, they can't be pulled off and I don't feel any clips either so I gave up on trying to remove them. damn they feel so light and comfortable though. they also seem to be using the same dongle that came with Sades Runner (very disappointing headset btw) and even use the same voice prompts, except the lighting is cyan and not blue
You mentioned a future website with materials list and template for production. Do you have that for download? This is something that I would love to attempt myself. You have done an exceptional job in presentation which is doable from memory. The details would be a definite launch.
Can I ask you a question why are using the clamp on the saw and hold the pipe at the same time that clamp is useless I’ve been a carpenter for 30 years. I’ve never use that clamp ever.
Do you know how it will work in the fall when leaves are on the lawn? In your video, it looks like it goes right over them instead of chopping them up.
I had a much more involved comment that was To the point …A carbon filter That maybe cut to size From a number of available products on amazon that are cheap to go on top of your Existing drains. This is to prevent Strands of root and coconut COIR From Wrapping around the pump impeller and cavitating the pump or overloading it and wearing it out sooner. I've used these filters for a number of applications but most effectively in In my HVAC vents. They allow water or any fluid to pass with almost no resistance and have almost perfect particulate capture while being simultaneously easy to flip out, rinse off And replace. The only thing I'm concerned about And unsure of Is weather It will lock up some nutrients Which I very much doubt. Anyway, thank you for the post I found your design elegant And has certainly started My mind on an inventor's journey Maybe even becoming your retail competition LOL jk
