I love it! Recently got into chainsaw n power carving,... N yeah, I'm obsessed with it too.😁 I want to make a bunch of these to sprinkle around my yard , as decoration , but also as little spots to take a seat. Your carve is looking great!😊👍🪄
@Sweet Life of Zach & Kristi, I am a tad bit late to this party and perhaps you've realized this by now but I hoped it would be helpful to address the "root bound" situation. Although those roots are mashed together they can still be utilized. I have found that shaving off a teenie weenie bit, like 1/8th inch ( 3mm ), off each of the 4 sides and the bottom is sufficient to remove the "bound" roots but still retain most of the roots mass. This method will prevent any stunting and allow it to grow and establish much faster. Great video and walk way, looks great. But I'm afraid I have to tell Zach about the wrench situation lol Oh and PS: mashing the soil with that wrench, perhaps, compacts it further slowing down rooting and establishment. Just a thought :)
Good for you for persevering! Working with that wire is tough. We learned to tack one end and then the other before stapling the whole thing -- because of what you say. I hate staple guns, but the secret is pressure. Press down hard as you pull the trigger to increase accuracy and minimize misfires.
I have an old pond I need to clean out and start a fresh. I'm dreading it! So many dead things in it. We had fish at one point. There used to be so many frogs too. I miss them! My kids caught tadpoles. so fun.
We take the heads of the strawberries that we ate & just put them in the ground. This year we have lots of strawberries 🍓 Yours look great love the boxes!
I absolutely love watching you guys. I like the way you film it feels raw like I’m in the garden with you hanging out with friends. Also my name is Christy and I have chronic pain so we have a lil in common not just gardening. lol. Keep up the good work I look forward to your videos every week
I don’t know why but when you bit the garlic scape and started chewing on it, it made me think of a cute little bunny going into the garden and eating the plants 😅

You are supposed to pull out the scape rather than snip… it gets the full portion and triggers the bulb production faster. Love the idea of the scoring! I’ve also blended with olive oil then frozen in ice cube trays. Once solid, pop them into a freezer bag to use for veggie sauces, etc.
Love your work guys. I'm trying to choose rope locally available here in Australia, I would love your opinion on perimeter and skeleton ropes.... I've got 14mm marine rope for the perimeter and was thinking 6mm marine rope for the skeleton. It's double braid polyester with a braking strength of 4800kg for the 14mm and 700kg for the 6mm. What do you think? Cheers from Australia!
As long as it’s rated for outdoors and is somewhat abrasion resistant I don’t see why that wouldn’t work. I’ve seen people make them out of hemp rope and garden twine and even that held up for a few years
I make compound butter with garlic scapes, freeze small disks in wax paper. Use when cooking something that may need onion. Also great on steak. The town I live in has a big garlic festival each fall
