There’s only two things that keep me from going on those kinds of adventures. 1. I don’t have enough money. 2. I don’t have anyone to do it with, which almost makes it not worth it. But I’m working on solving those problems so I can do crazy shit and make adventuring worth it.
In life, sometimes there are “God Only” situations that no one can solve for you. I been that lonely misunderstood man my whole life. Pretending in public. Rejection. The whole stick. I turned to God in my despair. I literally told Him to jump in. He was invited. I’ll let Him run my life. Then I waited. I demanded nothing. Just waited. As uneventful days past passed, I remembered my prayer. Things started drawing my attention. Can’t put a finger on it today. I had new thoughts. Most of the thoughts started with “who said?” And “what makes you think…” And “why?” How I viewed circumstances changed. All those “Who says and why” questions made it down to my normal thoughts. I’d ride around looking at stuff and because I could finally look outside myself, I saw a tiny light of hope. It’s not about what’s going on with me. It’s really about what’s going on outside of me. And how I could apply my man self, that problem solver thing we have, to a situation that needs it. If you’re broke do stuff for free. Do it for God! He’ll pay you back. Don’t demand! “Let!” What needs to be done in your town? A new town hall? Wheelchair access to buildings that don’t have? Do it for free! Money will come! Sometimes you gotta move in order for other things to move. The past happened already. SO WHAT! Don’t dwell. Grab some guys and build some houses. Learn if you don’t know how. Get out of the house and be around men. Forget women for now. Women come second in these types of situations. They don’t know us. We know us. God is not mystical! When He jumps in He knows what to do. “ trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path.” Ain’t never been words more true. Shut off your logic for a few. Follow the direction placed before you. Nobody loses everything! We lose a lot but there’s always that one thing. Can you walk? Ok start with that. Walk around and help something. Anything! Something needs help. God knows where everything is. If you trust him he will take you right to it. Defeat the mind. If it wants you to sit down GET UP! If it shows you negative, call it a liar and show it something positive. If you suffered loss, strengthen what remains! The battlefield is the mind. Good and evil forces have access to it. You are the prize. Dang near every negative thought comes with a huge lie! You dig out by slowly combating every negative thought. Keep digging and without ever noticing, you’re out! You got your purpose and your man stuff back. Purpose gets the wheels spinning. And now that you’re halfway out of a funk you start seeing external needs clearly. Keep expectations low. Don’t try to conquer the mountain in one leap. Break it up in pieces. Today I’m gonna do this. Tomorrow ima do it again. Baby steps! Fail at climbing the whole mountain and you’ll be front page news. Fail at conquering the mole hill and nobody notices. Conquer the mole hill. When you hit the sack have tomorrows mole hill on your mind. “Ah I see where I missed it. I’ll get it tomorrow!” Keep purpose in front of you. MEN! That’s who we are! We fall but we get up. Don’t let the world tell you how this thing goes! We fix stuff! When two sections of land are separated, and we are tired of of going the long way to get to the other side, we build bridges! We are the problem solvers of the world. I learned what being a man was by reading about Jesus. He flipped over tables when he had to and came to the aid of others when needed. He was a Man sent by God. There’s work to do. We knock around for a while but because we’re moving, we find our way! ❤️!!!
BS. God wants warriors not defeatists. I am so sick of its all in God's hands. Faith without works is dead. The apostles were out there in enemy territory every day preaching the Word. All but John died horrible deaths. They never backed down and never shut down.

Those are all biological constructs. Few aspects are social. But that does not mean gender is social. I think the similarity between magicians and jesters is that they are allowed to break the rules. The jester breaks the rules of society, and the magician breaks the rules of nature. I think of David Copperfield, Houdini, Gandalf or Merlin. Even inventors could fall into magicians in a modern perspective. Edison and Tesla would be magicians, including Elon Musk. Even stuntmen and dare devils are magicians. That's what made Jackie Chan so popular is because he combined warrior and magician, but also romantic. All the high tech weapons of James Bond, Ethan Hunt, and Batman make them seem like something beyond a regular warrior. The magician comes up in many ways. Gandalf is one of the most interesting to me. He is the most visionary of all, to the point that he is the one who inspires all the other kings in the story, including men, elves and dwarves. He is also a skilled warrior--no battle scars. He is the most scholarly, the most priestly, and even though he doesn't relish in the duty, he is the most statesmanly of them all--forging necessary alliances and helping all these lone wolf kingdoms come together to defeat the impossibly powerful enemy. I've always wondered if he sort of represents God, who can do everything. All knowing, all seeing, all powerful. But, he also doesn't try to portray himself as God. But, that is almost certainly his effect on the world. He ends up having more effect than Elrond, who thought he was the wisest. But my biggest question is why do the best warriors typically end up as the kings? David, Achilles, Odysseus, Hannibal, Augustus, Constantine, Charlemagne, William, Napoleon, Washington, Grant, Eisenhower, almost all Indian chiefs, etc. But nobody made Plato, Galileo, Newton, Da Vinci, Einstein, or Hawking the kings. There's some sort of huge connection between warrior and king. Is it simply the elimination of competition, or pressure from the people, or is there something more innate? Look how many people have asked Jocko Willink to run for president.... Some seize power, and others are pushed into it reluctantly. The reluctant tend to be the more beloved kings. But, they still tend to start off as great warriors.

Does it foster inner conflict to follow too many of these? Or is it healthy? What if society puts you into a position that you did not ask for or originally pursue? Should I shoulder the responsibility and let it stretch me, as Jordan Peterson might suggest? Or should I strive for greatness in fewer roles? I've also learned that you might not realize how others see you, unless you ask them. How they respond can be very interesting. It may be a little different than what you see in yourself.

Courage brothers and sisters. And using a great advice from Jordan Peterson, in matter of your work, start working on having options. Review, update your resume or CV. Start looking for options and evaluate how the market is for your skills. Add more skills, expand your network. This will create a stable foundation for when courage is required.

Powerful and true. Ryan, what's the balance you find in being a Christian where there's so much pacifism in the faith, but standing up for your boundaries or calling out evil/injustice publicly leads to a lot of confrontation? Essentially, how do we be strong and assertive even when it upsets people people while so much in the faith is about being kind and passive?
Advice for young men: Be very careful who you marry. Don’t rush into it. Be sure you are both on the same page and sold out to the same things. Have the same overall worldview. My wife and I are blessed to have found such people. We attribute our 32 strong years and counting to our commitment to Christ. Bless you guys- great channel.

But you also don't live in a world where fair people won't take advantage of no gun regulation. World is filled with bad people and if it can be made a little difficult for them to get guns to hurt others, it's worth us responsible gun owners to go through some "red tape". It opens more doors for illegal weapons too. Mind you, illegal weapons will always exist, but, if some red tape can deter some kid who wants to harm school, i'm for it. Government is not going to be able to attack you because people in service are like you and me, we would not harm our citizens, right? Right.
I am a giver and my ex was a taker and that went on for 13 years. New house, new car, she took everything. Well she passed away last October at 32 years old from cirrhosis of the liver. Let that be a lesson, you can't be a taker like that and expect to live a long happy life.
Quit music and movies. Atleast take a break. And drugs ofcourse if you're on them. Read non fiction. The idea is consume stuff that makes you more knowledgeable, both about yourself and the world, and hence more powerful. This mindset will make you pick up a book. Or an audiobook. As I prefer sometimes. I take walks while listening.
