Quando si esprime un concetto bisogna domandarsi: che sto dicendo ? A chi lo sto dicendo ? Perché lo sto dicendo? E quindi come lo devo dire. Molti cantanti pensano alle note, al passaggio di registro, all'acuto, alla potenza e alla fine non dicono niente o meglio sarebbe stato meglio se non avessero detto niente. Gedda tutto a fatto tranne una dichiarazione d'amore.
Absolutely (well, maybe) the best rendition of how they are all told how to do this: shout, shout, shout. Gigli does it; Bjorling does it; of course Corelli and del Monaco do it. They all make wonderful noises and so do many newer shouters (Kaufman, etc). Still waiting for a tenor who actually reads the words. I wnder whether Tito Schipa was the man, but who knows?
@@darklord220 I think it's more because this is an extremely difficult aria. It is all passaggio. But I don't think the tenors listed (for the most part) shout though. Rather, the one's who are better suited to this aria maintain the broad arc of the line rather than fussing around.
